Wow we did the True Crime murder mystery. It was fascinating and really exceeded our expectations. The staff was delightful and always willing to give us clues. I booked the Bank Robbery escape for my staff and I for a team building event, and we had a blast! Reserving was very easy online, and compared to other escape rooms it was priced similarly. I appreciated that on the reservation you could specify that it is for a private event and book the entire room. The staff were sweet and informative. Once we were in the room the games began! I really thought the Bank Robbery room was done well- the clues were not too obvious, but it was also attainable. I've been to other escape rooms where we would have never figured it out, but this difficulty level was just right. The clues were fun and perfect for a group of 4--we were all able to contribute and didn't feel like we were crowded on top of one another. When you enter the room, it provides a short video with a description and background story, so it really felt professional. We were able to make it out in 47 minutes and didn't ask for any clues, so we were pretty proud of ourselves. Great for team building and an affordable fun activity. We managed to put a puzzle together open up a few locks but aside from that we were fumbling idiots!! lol it was a lot harder than we anticipated. My family and I visited around two weeks ago on a Friday night. We booked the Crime Scene room online and then called to ask about their procedures for COVID19. They are now limiting rooms to one group, which was awesome and lessened our worries. Masks are required to enter, but once we were in our room we were allowed to remove them if needed. The ladies at the front were great and we had two newbies who'd never done an escape room before. They allowed us to use the restroom and then explained all the rules and details about the room! Everything was clean, we had a great time and were able to finish on time! I recommend Master Escape room for a fun and unique night out. Frustrated by Worn out room We have no issue with not solving a particular puzzle but we take significant issue when the reason is due to the company not making sure that batteries are good in a device needed to solve a puzzle. In another instance, an item was so worn out that even after wasting a lot of time trying to figure it out and finally being given the answer, we didn't understand. After we finished the entire escape room, we asked how to get the answer they gave. The employee showed us which caused more frustration that the connection to the solution was almost impossible given the condition of the item. That was unfortunate, because it would have been an interesting but difficult challenge if the item was simply reprinted. In addition, asking for a hint does not mean, "I am just going to give you the answer." It is no fun to have the answer blatantly given to you when you just wanted a hint. The EGYTIAN room itself had little "not a clue" signs on some items in the rooms. I commend this because it keeps a group from wasting a lot of time. However, it is not okay to have the sign on something and have it be part of a clue or have something not marked with a sign and have it appear to be blatantly needed only to learn after the game that is was a purposeful red herring. Again, frustrating. An escape room is supposed to be fun. On the plus side, a few of the puzzles were ingenious and rewarding even if a hint was given and, in my opinion, that should be the standard. The employees were personable. However, be aware, that an employee was not wearing a mask (if you care about that). Nor am I convinced on the sanitization efforts between escape room uses. Overall, I felt disappointed and the conversation afterward was more about our frustration than anything. I would advise against the Egyptian room and this company if the other rooms are similarly old/worn out. read more

A bit of anxiety, a lot of lock combinations, and a good amount of Yelper brainpower... add them all together, and you have a really fun, entertaining evening! First, getting here: do not listen to Google Maps on your phone! Thankfully I was really early, so I had plenty of time for my navigation to mess with me and send me into a student housing complex behind the actual building. The Master Escape Room is located south of NE 20th Street on the east side of Dixie, in the Mizner City Centre (an ivory-colored building with a terracotta tile roof). Go toward the south side of the building, and look for the room's sign in the window. Once inside, we were able to put our belongings (including cell phones) into a locker. We were brought into a tiny room, where we watched a short introduction video before we got to work solving the first of MANY puzzles. I won't spoil it, but it was a blast! I'd recommend having a lot of people so you can all search for different clues at the same time. There are three rooms you end up exploring (plus a hallway). If you get stuck at any time, you can use the little walkie-talkie they give you to get a hint (a nudge in the right direction, which subtracts 3 minutes from your time) or a clue (a much more straightforward answer to help you figure out a puzzle, which subtracts 5 minutes). We ended up only using a clue once toward the end, but even with those 5 minutes deducted, we finished with 9 minutes to spare! The lady at the front desk had told us in the beginning that not many people end up finishing, so we were quite happy to have made it out to celebrate! Overall this was a challenging adventure, but we all walked out raving about the experience. I'm already itching to do another! There's no point in doing this one again (since I already know how to escape), but in a few weeks they'll be opening a "bank vault" room where you get to be the bad guys, and we've all decided we have to come back! If you're thinking about doing the Master Escape Room, go for it! It's such a unique way to spend an evening! And right now, they even have a Groupon deal. Enjoy! read more

Can you master the escape? I've been here twice and escaped both times in different rooms. The crime scene and the bank vault rooms consisted of a lot of puzzles, clues, strategic team building activities, and combinations. Go with a group of people and you're guarantee to have a lot of fun while getting your brain power on. The place is hard to find at first. I drove past it twice and found it on the third time when I went the first time. Do not use Google Maps because it's wrong. It's located in the Mizner City Center north of Glades Road off of Dixie Highway on the east side. When you pull up into the plaza, you will see a sign indicating to go right and the suite is located on the south side of the building. Each group that participates in each room volunteers to be locked up with each other with no way out for 60 minutes. All personal items were placed in lockers and we were given a key to retrieve the items before we left. The staff was awesome with the service. They explained the rules very well and they supplied a walkie-talkie for us for a hint (3 mins deducted) or a clue (5 minutes deducted) if we got stuck at any point during the game. The crime scene room was a little easier since we had more people in our group and we escaped with 9 minutes to spare using a hint. The bank vault was a little tougher and our group made it out with a little over a minute to spare using a clue. Wheeew! It was informed to us that not a lot of people end up making it out in time, so we were quite happy and relieved to make it out within the time frame. I'm not going to go into any of the details of the crime scene and bank vault room since you have to find out for yourself what it entails. I recommend going with a large group of people since some of the clues can be very difficult to solve if you don't have enough brain power. It was definitely a fun challenge and the Egyptian tomb room is the next one to try when it opens up in the near future. There's no point in doing the same room if you already did it once. There's a Groupon deal for the crime scene room currently and the bank vault has a promotion code to use when you book online through their website. If you're looking for something different and fun to do, go check it out! It's a lot of fun and a lot of thinking with creative puzzles and unique challenges to go through in each room. read more

This was such a fun event! The concept is that you have a team of 8 people who have a crime to solve and then must escape the scene. There are three room, each with a variety of puzzles that have to be solved I order to unlock the room and move on. Clues can be very difficult to solve and you only have an hour. Naturally, your intrepid Yelp team solved the mystery and made their escape with 9 minutes to spare! The only drawback is that once you've done it, you've done it, so there's no reason to go back. The Master Escape Room is AWESOME!! I didn't really know what to expect but heard from several friends that it was a lot of fun and decided to go try it out. OMG!!!! Wow! We had such a good time. So many laughs and happiness filled the air during the quest to get out. I was shocked at how much thought and unique ideas they put into designing the Ancient Egyptian room. I didn't expect such creativity. I don't want to give too much away for those who haven't gone but I will say that the puzzles and clues you have to solve to escape were well thought out and so fun to try and discover. The desk clerk was a lot of fun too. He made the experience one to treasure... he was funny and helpful and had a very fun way of giving us hints when we were stuck. We got out with 2m30 seconds left. We also took several pictures with the props they provided. I liked that they had lockers to store your things so you don't have to leave them in the car... that was comforting. I recommend going in a group of 4 because it made the experience much more fun and each person contributed in their own way. I promise... you will laugh so hard and really enjoy the experience. Mike had done an escape room in Orlando and told me how cool it was so I was super excited we both had a chance to check out this one. Without giving too much away your locked in a room for 1 hour with your team of people. The scenario was that we were detectives and had to find the murderer. The challenge lead us into multiple rooms having to locate combinations to locks, keys, solve puzzles, and overall just think outside the box. It was a lot of fun and the time in the room FLEW by. The clock is ticking. If that isn't nerve-racking enough for you, throw in a room full of puzzles and riddles, hidden artifacts, add a cherry on top with a room full of strangers and you have the magnificent sundae that is an escape room. Master Escape Room was fun; plain and simple (even though there was nothing plain and simple about it). It was actually very hard. Now I can't go into complete detail alas, I will spoil the room and it's wonderful toys for you but what I can say is you will need to think, communicate and do all of this with a sense of urgency. Designating a leader or two and breaking up in to two or three teams may be necessary to save time. Knowing each others strengths and weaknesses will also be a great benefit as some puzzles are catered to those who are good with numbers where others are good with words. Is there an engineer in the room? Maybe he can figure out this mechanical puzzle? You get the idea. Now Master Escape Room provides someone with a radio to call for a hint if needed but they will deduct time from the clock. You don't get to leave until the room is completely solved but, if you go over an hour, you've lost. My team was brilliant enough to get out on time with a mere 3 seconds left on the clock. We won't mention that Master Escape Room Staff was giving us hints without our actually asking for them. #WeDidntAskSoItDoesntCountAsAHint Master Escape Room provides a fun and innovative experience. Escape rooms are a growing rage and I highly recommend everyone try one. I gave Master Escape Room a 5 Star rating because even though I don't have anything to rate it against, Master Escape Room did everything you want an Escape Room to do. It got my blood pumping, it made me think, it made me work with a team of strangers and it left me feeling awesome being the one to open the door just before time ran out. #ClockStopper I can't wait to try another one. This is my second time coming here I had previously been here last year. I went with a group of friends for my wife's birthday celebration and we had a great time. We barely made it out of the Egyptian Tomb with just 40 secs left but we had a blast figuring it all out. We definitely had to work together and do our part to get it solved. By the time the hour was up we were exhausted but relieved to have walked out victorious especially considering the low success rate on that room. The staff was very helpful in explaining the rules to those playing for the first time. I will definitely be back again. Just waiting for them to open up the Dinosaur one. read more

I love The Master Escape Room!! My friend came to town and had mentioned to my husband and I about escape rooms- we had never visited one before. We made reservations online, very delighted at the prices as I expected them to be much more. Upon arrival you will secure your cell phone and anything else you want in the lockers located in the front. Your host will walk you to your room, give you a walkie talkie, and wish you luck. Once in the room a tv screen will play a video explaining the rules of the "game"- after the video is completed a 60min timer begins and you're on your own! I was so impressed at the puzzles and riddles you must complete to get additional clues. The rooms have multiple other rooms inside which you must maneuver through to make your way to the escape door. If you are 'stumped' you can request a clue through your walkie talkie (which in turn will cost you minutes off of your overall time). I have been back twice since and will continue to frequent The Master Escape room as they update and change their themes. This place is fantastic for team building- I recommend groups of 3-5, any more or any less will make escaping more difficult. read more

The props, scenery and atmosphere were amazing. I really felt like I was in Jurassic Park! The puzzles were SO clever and unique. I officially did all three rooms and now I can write my review! The first room I did was the crime scene and that was very challenging but the room was very creative! We didn't complete that one in time:( It made you think outside the box. Actually all of them made you think outside of the box. The second one I did was the bank robbery and that was a lot of fun as well. My favorite one was definitely the last one, the Egyptian tomb. I went in with my three friends and we didn't think we were going to make it!! But we did with 58 seconds to spare. If you haven't done an escape room, this is a great place to go! The rooms are set up and decorated great! The rooms are challenging but not impossible and the staff is very friendly even when you are 15 min late to the time you were scheduled(sorry). Awesome escape room! It was such a blast! I've been to a couple escape room places and the room we tried here was so much fun, the riddles were really well thought out. The entire premise of the escape really flowed well from one clue to another and the entire group had a blast. The rules were explained clearly by the staff (3 mins deducted for a hint or 5 minutes deducted for a clue), the premise of the rooms told by a cool, animated video in the room. The place is a bit hard to find and the signage isn't that great, but to help other Yelpers, the suite is located at the far right end of the plaza, right next to Dixie Highway. Engaging, detailed, and immersive. Without a doubt, they tried really hard to make imaginative and interactive puzzles that really succeeded with my group. We came at first when another escape room nearby was closed because of Irma. It turned out to be much more than we thought and also turned out this place was significanlty better than the one we were supposed to be in the first place. i signed up the bank escape room and reserved the entire room for our party of 4. private requires you buy all the available tickets for the room which still came out to a reasonable total since price is so low per person. their 15% discount doesnt apply when reserving the entire room. the escape room is located in a biz park with ample parking. check-in was very quick, watched a short intro video in the 1st room and we were off to the escape room. overall the room was very challenging and staff was great on providing just enough clues to get us going. we finished up slightly over the 1hr mark but were able to complete the escape room. positives: good parking, friendly staff, challenging room but not too difficult even for the kids we took(10years old), the escape room involved several rooms so you're not stuck in one room the entire session, very entertaining, would definitely recommend this place for all ages. negatives: wish we could do more. read more

I love this place! I was visiting a friend in Boca, and when our evening plans went south, I suggested we do an escape room. TMER was amazing on the phone (we called within two hours of closing) and directed us to make an easy reservation on their website. I've done two escape rooms at two other businesses and the Dino escape room was truly outstanding. The puzzles were harder (and a little more temperamental) than some of the other rooms I've done in the past but we made it with a just a couple minutes to spare! A good game master can make or break an escape room, and we were lucky that our game master was following closely and was clued into some of the minor difficulties we were having and was able to help us out when we needed and asked for it. We did Dino with three people (one of whom had a little too much to drink at dinner and possibly made it a little harder at times ) and it was challenging. Go with friends ...
