I decided to try massage to see if it would help, and found out about Beverly Massage Therapy & Wellness Center though Yelp. Based on the reviews, I decided to try a 30 minute massage with Kerilee. It was AMAZING. So much so, in fact, that I asked her 10 minutes in if she had time for an hour long massage. She unfortunately didn't, but I went back a few days later for another massage. In just an hour and a half Kerilee managed to greatly reduce my hip pain, and I will definitely continue receiving massages from her. In addition to being an amazing sports massage therapist, Kerilee is super friendly, and the massage studio is clean and peaceful. I highly recommend Beverly Massage Therapy- it's well worth every penny! I've had many massage therapists in the past, and Kerilee is definitely one of the best!

She applies just the right amount of pressure that is deep, but not too painful which is great because I don't like very soft massages. The studio is very cute and welcoming. The massage room itself is big so you don't feel closed in. The table is very comfortable and there are lots of pillows if you need extra support. And Kerilee offers great prenatal massage which not everyone does, so it's an extra bonus for me right now. Looking forward to my next visit!

When I called to make the appointment, I was informed that the cost is $75 for the 60-minute foot reflexology and cash for tip (all of which I had no problem). Prior to the massage, I was charged the $75 which was fine. At the conclusion of my massage I paid the employee a 20% tip. As I was walking away, the employee stopped me and pointed to the sign on the wall which identifies their tipping rates. She was making a point that I under tipped her based on the sign and she was insinuating I pay her more. The sign listed a 60-minute massage as a tip rate of $20 (which is more than 20%). Mind you, the sign did not contain language such as suggested or recommended. Furthermore, their website says nothing about a mandatory tip requirement. Per MA state law, businesses cannot require a tip on services nor can employers demand/request a tip (unless it is a service charge or for large parties). Tips are considered discretionary and are up to the customer. While it was my goal to leave this experience relaxed and rejuvenated, I ended up leaving offended and annoyed.

I was not responding to her other than "uh-huh" and I even tried not replying at all and that did not work. Several times during the massage she was so deep in a story she would stop my massage and actually lean on me while talking. I honestly couldn't believe it. Then, as if it wasn't bad enough- she was the person who also checked me out and asked if I wanted to add gratuity- and how much. She proudly showed me the website listing the price as $199, but it was actually $189, and she reluctantly said I owed $89.00. I recommend taking screenshots of any prices. I had planned to return for future services, but not after that experience. They lost a customer over a $30 difference.
