Prices ranged from very affordable to a little below average. There were a lot of bargains! Nothing looked over-priced. Lots of variety of rough minerals/rocks! The woman who assisted me was such fun to chat with and made some recommendations based on my interests. Definitely more books here I plan to return for. They even have a small area out the door (in the center of the building) to sit and read if you have time, or can't wait to begin your new book. While driving around the area I entered "book store" into Yelp and it took me to Pourings and Passages in Danielson. I think the only time I ever came to Danielson was to check out the old abandoned toy factory that I think is gone now, but that was well over a decade ago when I still live in Connecticut so I was pretty stoked to check this small town out again. When you first walk into this book store, it looks like a pretty average book store before you realize it includes what appears to be three or four full retail shops worth of books all separated by category and even features areas for movies and a whole lot of religious stuff. I spent a good 25 minutes or so walking around and checking everything out, now one thing I will say is this place definitely had the smallest horror section I've seen out of the Connecticut book shops, but hey, maybe it's just not a big genre in the area. Overall, Pourings and Passages is a massive place to explore and had a ton of books at some of the best prices I've seen in a very long time. Actually, now that I'm writing this I just realized I forgot to pick up the Christopher Golden book I found for $3 and I'm pretty bummed about it. Being Lord of the Rings fans, the name itself drew us in! The place is decent sized, and has a pretty good selection of a variety of board games! They also had a small book section of new and used fantasy and sci-fi books. They had a huge section of LOTR, of course, and I saw many Star Trek and Star Wars books as well. A lot of classics! The prices seemed pretty on par with other game stores. A few of the larger games were a bit pricey than normal, but that is pretty typical with small business game stores. They had a large magic and dungeon and dragons items if you're into that. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the area.

Primitive style items can be pricey, but I found most items here reasonable. It's located right near the corner of Arcade Ave and Route 44, so it can be tough pulling in and out. My home isn't decorated in primitive decor, but I'd definitely stop in if I were looking for gifts.

It was right across the street from our hotel, in a historic building, so I was very excited to come in and get some stuff. I was a bit disappointed when we walked in because it is not a souvenir shop. It's a bookstore that specializes in H.P. Lovecraft and things of that horror nature. The store is well organized and has a lot of books and other memorabilia in the genre. Everything is priced really well and they do not seem to try to gauge you by charging more than they should for things. The person who was working when we came in was super nice and very engaged with customers. I really liked them and the place but I didn't purchase anything because it wasn't what I was looking for. However, if you're looking for this sort of stuff, it's the perfect place for it.

The shirts and sweaters had only a few designs (may be only 5) to choose from and the material they were made of did not seem to be of good quality. The magnets were overpriced at $9.99. The items were not organized well. Some shelves were empty. The store was not lit well and looked like it's not being maintained, giving a vibe that they're struggling. If you're looking for quality and cute souvenirs, I'd go to Frog & Toad, Craftland, and/or Rhody Craft.
