As soon as I walked in, I wondered why it had taken me so long to check it out. Located in an old warehouse, CMI doesn't have that warehouse feel. A good size room, filled with hand-braided rugs and baskets, the place is cheerful and inspiring. Even though I wasn't looking to buy anything, I just couldn't resist purchasing a Pawtucket rug (made from scraps of fabric) and a basket (perfect for storing those odds and ends). The staff were friendly and helped with moving rugs, giving the background to how they are made, and helping to roll them up for take away. While I was there during a huge sale, it seems that even the normal prices are pretty reasonable, as it was, I got a full area rug for less money that my IKEA rug cost me. And it is more beautiful, better made, and local. S This place has been there for 20 years, and is still a hidden gem.

Watch out driving into the lot, some large potholes. So upon entering we saw that it stretched lengthwise and was quite large with a first floor and basement area. Didn't like that the majority of the upper floor has several items placed into locked cabinets. One-you can't really see the item and two-you can't see the asking price. So even though the browsing was nice, it was a little disappointing. The basement area was better as we were able to actually view items clearly. Unfortunately a lot of items were priced a little high so at didn't pick anything up from this location.

Jade's Gems is one of the many vendors. When we came last time, my friend purchased a bracelet made with high-quality semi-precious stones. Each stone has its own energy, for example Rose Quartz is great for emotional healing and strengthening relationships. Jade's Gems also repairs bracelets, either purchased from her store or from elsewhere. My husbands bracelet that we bought from Hawaii broke so we bought it to her to get it fixed. The repair was $5 and it was ready in 10 minutes. Stop by her booth and check out her bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and more. She is very friendly. Another vendor I checked out was Mrs Liu Handmade who sells knitted bouquets and crochet figures. All the figures are so cute and I want to buy them all. There is also Encanto Cookies who developed the idea of fusing traditional cookie flavors with Latin flavors. We had the Ube Coconut cookie for $4.00 and Red Velvet Nutella (Stuffed) for $5.00. The Ube Coconut cookie had ube with fresh coconut. The Red Velvet Nutella cookie is a chewy red velvet cookie filled with Nutella filling. Both cookies were very soft and good. I am looking forward to getting Encanto Cookies again.
