They had an opening and got him right in. I noticed they do beard trimming and shaping so I decided I would try that. What a great time. Not only did I get a beard trim for the first time, but it was a full service trim, with oils and hot towels and a straight razor. It was awesome. Got a scruffy beard? Treat yourself. My son wanted pictures of his haircut because it came out exactly how he wanted it and he wants to be able to show what he wants next time. Wish I still lived here because I think I would treat myself monthly to the beard works.

With customers waiting her call continued without pause. It was obvious the call she was on wasn't an "immediate family emergency " call. Based on her actions/inactions her call seemed to take precedence over the customers. I've patronized the man salon for about a year however I've never seen customer service this poor. Her substandard customer service projected a disconnected, unfavorable, unprofessional, "I'm here only for a paycheck" vibe. The business, the business owner, and the customers deserve much better than she was capable of. With the right employees this business has tremendous potential. With all due respect no disrespect intended. Respectfully.

I'm already planning to visit again the next time I'm back in the area - and not just because it's half the price of my regular Bay Area hair cuts.

I went in as a same-day appointment, as I had had my hair platinum about a week week and a half…read moreprior, and needed it to be corrected. I was very clear on the phone setting the appointment that it was a color correction. I came in and saw Kari Wells. I showed her a picture of what I wanted (The picture I showed her is attached) I said; just darker shade on my roots: but still blonde; as I've always been a blonde, and was very clear that I have strawberry blonde. when I had the foils on, I had to say "shouldn't you wash them out" I think they sat for a good 40 minutes when she told me they only should've been 20. She had no timer set? so I don't know how she anticipated timing correctly. But I was keeping a eye on my cell phones clock.. She washes my hair, I look in the mirror and the whole all of my hair is completely dark gray. When I told her...I was not happy that my hair was gray...She proceeded to try about three more things to make it not gray; Repeating to me out loud, the color wheel, I left the salon as I arrived in a baseball cap. So about $200-$250 later, I went home crying in a baseball cap. It was very clear I had a very big event the next evening, that is formal dress up, and I was heartbroken that my hair was worse than when I went in. I called my daughter in tears, she sent me to Walgreens to get this oops! which I put on my hair and took all the color out that kari had put in...and that looked so much better than it did when I left the salon; So I basically paid 200 $250, to sit for five hours, make my hair worse....for her at the end to tell me where it in a braid, it looks better that way pulled back. Nobody wants gray hair. Then she told me the reason my hair turned gray was because I have well Water? I've lived in the same house forever. Never had a problem with my hair, turning gray when it was colored. I'm calling BS on that explanation. Not a happy client I will not recommend, I will not be back, it was one of the most horrible experiences I've had with my hair. I would not have been that bad. If she taken ownership and said the color correct and I'm doing is not working, but she waited till the very end to ask somebody for help. And said to me about 1 million times what she was doing "as if I knew? That's why I went to an expert; A upper class salon as well, It's not like I went to great clips. she kept saying to me does that make sense, does that make sense, she must've said that 200 times. None of it made sense because when I left my hair was worse than when I got there. Do not go, do not waste your money or time....100% Dissatisfied....

At 24, I've definitely had a lot of haircuts and always go to salons as my hair is a bit longer than most guys. It's rare for me to go back to a place more than once due to being pretty picky about my hair and having some disappointing experiences in the past. Sarah is someone I will be returning to over and over, here's why. No other stylist has ever told me exactly how my hair grows. I told her what I wanted and what I liked, she then took the time to evaluate my hair and see if it was possible to do what I asked or if it needed to be tweaked a bit to look good. 90% of the places I go to don't take that seemingly simple step, they just start shampooing and cutting. Sarah looked at it dry and made sure she understood how it acts when its not wet and gave advice accordingly. I've never been happier with the final cut, it looks incredible. She's also taking continuing education courses as much as she can, that speaks volumes to how much she enjoys her profession and is clearly evident in the skill she displays. I will be sending my family and friends to Sarah, she's the real deal. Highly, highly recommend.
