Originally this was called The Exchange, before recently being re-branded as The Mall. Unless there has been a sudden influx of Americans into Ilford, then I am not really sure of the wisdom behind the name change.
It seems to me like the name is the only thing that has changed - everything else is pretty much the same as it's always been.
The Mall is your typical, run-of-the-mill middle of town shopping centre. It has a Marks & Spencers, it has a Thorntons, it has a few sports shops and it has a food court. That's pretty much all there is to say. The Mall is nothing if not unremarkable.
It's pleasant enough; and reasonably clean. If you're in the need of some typical stuff, y'know, like a scarf, a new pair of jeans or a pencil; then this place will probably do the job. I've always found it a bit depressing though; but then I am not one for shops. Let me buy something online and I'll be happy!. read more
