There aren't a ton…read moreof places to shop for clothes in town, so I initially really wanted to like Artifacts because the window displays were quirky and cute. However, one inside the store, there is an overbearing, off-putting smell of patchouli. As a college student, I thought the store items were overpriced for the relatively low quality, and the clothing was not size inclusive (too many junior-sized items). The owner's unprofessional behavior is also a reason why I do not enjoy this store. I've known people who worked here, and they described what was a hostile work environment where they were subjected to verbal abuse, and I witnessed this firsthand. On one occasion, I was in line at the counter with an item in my hand, ready to make a purchase (earrings I believe?), but after hearing how rudely she spoke to an employee in front of me, I decided not to buy them. If that's how she acted in front of customers, I can only imagine how she behaves in private. The owner has been in the news for her bigoted, transphobic views, which are on display in the storefront windows. In doing this, she has clearly made a connection between her political views and her store, so this is why I find it fair to comment on them in this review. I was not a fan of this store before, but this is yet another reason not to support this business.

I stumbled upon Unique Treasures after my most recent pit stop at the Clintonville Farmers Market…read more After walking by as I was heading to and from the car, I was intrigued by the dusty window and old signage. I just knew there had to be something special in there waiting for me! I opened the door and immediately noticed the large amount of inventory crammed into this little store. There was so much to choose from, I didn't even know where to start. No lie! I ended up starting towards the front of the room and eventually worked my way to the back. After browsing around for some time, I discovered everything from full tea sets to old photos, tons of jewelry, some awesome wall mirrors (with a touch of paint they'll be good as new!), records, and so much more! The fella that runs the placed is named Bob and he was so sweet. He has his nameplate on the desk next to the register, which made it really easy for me to know who to ask for when I was ready to check out. I assured him that I'll be back on Saturdays after the farmers market and he said he's almost always there (unless he's visiting Florida, haha). After about 15 minutes of looking around, I found a handful of cool jewelry pieces that I wanted. I ended up narrowing my option down to a really pretty blue pendant that simply needed a chain to be turned into a bohemian style necklace. For only a few dollars, I practically had a brand new piece of jewelry that could go with just about anything in my closet. Absolute score! I can truly say that I'm eager to make this a more regular stop on my weekend trips to the market. If I only looked around for fifteen minutes and found something good, just imagine what I could find with twenty, thirty, plus.

Beautiful, clean, well organized store. Not your typical "vintage"...no smell...no junk...no cheap…read morequality. Just well chosen, quality pieces in excellent condition, well curated. Be prepared to pay prices to match quality. Things are not cheap here. Also, as in most vintage stores, you won't find really big sizes. Most run in the M range, even though some are marked large, they aren't. Typical vintage. Run smaller. I am 5'5" 140, average size and BMI, most tops would not fit me here. I had a bit of trouble finding it, today they did not have their sign out (I saw it folded up in the store), and google maps guided me a couple storefronts down. Keep looking. It's on sidewalk level and looks like a vintage store window.

The owner is very warm and polite and always takes time to recommend items which specifically meet my taste/fit. I LOVE this store so much and look forward to my next time in!

A Gal Named Cinda Lou Antiques is your mid-century forward store in town and unlike other stores…read morethey are packed with entire sets of things such as glassware, carafes, pitchers and limited run dishwater. I loved the state of everything they sell you'd swear it was new and never used. Also the flow of the store is enjoyable as it makes one want to continue to explore slowly and touch everything possible. Its perfect for a one of a kind gift from an era previous to ours and with the quality that with be lasting as part of your story for years to come.

The bright colors, 60's-70's vibes, and fun name caught all of our attention. We didn't hesitate before nodding our heads in agreement, we had to go in! From funky clothing and jewelry to home decor, art, and kitchenware, this place just screams hippie wonderland... Take me back to the 70's please! It was wonderful. Towards the back of the building is a mini record store and that's where they hooked me! My record collection is largely oldies thanks to my grandmother. Luckily, they had a good mix of music and I picked out a more recent album I knew I needed in my collection. The staff was friendly, the space was fun, I'll definitely be back!
