My red, white and blue creations!

Super fun time painting pottery with the family and a nice, delicious hot cup of coffee. We love this little gem in downtown Lancaster. First time painting... we usually come in for the coffee to avoid the corporate coffee by the mall and retailpalooza. The service is great, and there are plenty of pottery pleasers to choose from. Plan on spending some time unless you are picking something small, ESPECIALLY if you have a detail diva or artist in your group. So easy with lots of creative and festive ideas to get you started and keep you going. Clean up and check out is wicked easy, too. Moderate pricing, but be prepared to drop some coin for the larger items. Well Worth the quality time with the family! This one gets a FOR SURE FAMILY FUN time from me. Be sure to grab a craft coffee or palate pleasing pastry to accompany your creative palette (you like how I did that). Plan you pottery painting adventure today!

What's better than a Sunday spent drinking coffee and painting? Apparently not much because this place was busy busy! Art and clay is a small town gem my family has been going to for years. We have seen this place go from having just a few tables to having a waitlist to get in. A full espresso and coffee bar is inside to order drinks, baked goods and chocolates. On the other side of the space are displayed ceramics to choose from to paint. All the prices are on the bottom of the ceramic and come in a wide range of prices. With so many colors to choose from, stencils, lace overlay, sponges, stamps and brushes the possibilities to create are endless! The anticipation to see how your piece turns out is the best part!

Lovely space! Bright, cheery atmosphere that makes you want to create!! There's several different rooms as you wonder toward the back. Spaces perfect for painting on canvas. Places to sand and paint your pottery. I was told by Kelly (owner/manager and very pleasant gal!) that if you don't get done painting your pottery project, and need to come back and finish, no problem! Just pay for the finished piece that day, and your welcome to come back and work on it as many times (no matter how long it takes) as needed. A welcoming establishment! Personal fav? There's paintings hanging all around. I'm presuming they've been done here. Many are for sale, and at reasonable prices. Special mention to the artist of the whimsical ocean creatures paintings hanging outside the potting-wheel space! And the bright, elaborate doors? I want those at my house! Classes are offered to the public. And at a very reasonable price. I'd love to get on a wheel and try my hands at a bowl or vase - it's been a long time since high school art class, haha!

The most relaxed, experiential, adorable and artsy cafe I've ever been to! You can paint while you enjoy your coffee.

I love painting and a few years ago I found this place right in downtown Lancaster, OH. I love it,…read moreyou get to paint your own painting with a professional that walks you through all the steps so you can make your own masterpiece. Everyone I've ever met at this company has been so sweet and helpful. They really want everyone to have a good time and enjoy painting. They also provide everything you'll need to paint like the canvas, paint, apron and etc. Half way through the painting you get a break we're they provide a snack table with cheeses, fruits and wine for adults. This is a fun activity to do with friends and family. When I went with my friends & family we just joined an open class but you can actually schedule private sessions too for things like bridal parties, get togethers with friends or with a group of couples. If you have never tried this before I highly recommend it.

My family went to a painting class this past Sunday at 2 Broke Artists Studio in downtown…read moreLancaster. Cost for the four of us to take the painting session was $108. Our class was comprised of several families and groups of friends and co-workers taking this class. An instructor shows painters what brush and paint to use one step at a time. Brushes to be used and paint colors are predetermined for the paintings chosen by the instructor. They show how to draw and paint parts of the painting one step at a time. The younger of the two instructors is a bit slower and easier to talk to and understand when she speaks with her back turned to the class. Lots of fun for friends and family, can be pricey for large groups. $120 for a family of four.
