This venue was absolutely incredible !! The food was phenomenal and a week later I am still having people contact us to tell us how good the food was and how amazing the wedding was. I know people probably think reviewers are biased when making statements like the food being good, but I was actually so impressed. I usually don't typically like main meals at weddings, but this one I can honestly say the food was sooo good and would 100% go back to eat it many times haha I personally had the slow braised short rib and legit melted in your mouth, it was so good Everyone had a legit blast! If there was more stars to give, I totally would! We had my sisters Bridal Shower at The Madison on a Friday evening. It was a cocktail style event with passed appetizers and drinks. Everything went according to plan! The wait staff & bartender were amazing as they were on point with the food, cleanup and drinks. I can't express how great Thomas and Jessica were. I was at the Madison on Saturday for a baby shower. My first time there and I'm so impressed. They did a beautiful job and the staff was all friendly and helpful, especially our bartender who made an exquisite mimosa bar. We had a brunch buffet and it was delicious!! I had the most amazing and memorable wedding at The Madison on May 7th and that's all due to the staff! Special shout out to Jessica, my day-of wedding coordinator, who essentially was a wedding planner extraordinaire in all the months leading up to the wedding. She completely went above and beyond and truly made my wedding vision come to life. She was so kind, answered all my questions along the way (and there were many), and even offered to drive some of my bridal party to the ceremony 15 minutes away when the uber left without them. My bridal party and I had an early start time for hair and make-up (6:30am) and by the time I got to the Madison, Jessica was already there and the reception area looked amazing! I can't thank her enough for everything she did and I recommend her to anyone! The Madison also has a decor closet which the bride and groom has access to and we seriously saved so much money because of that! In the closet they have welcome signs, candles, lanterns, card boxes, basically a majority of wedding decorations you can have so me and my husband didn't even need to buy extra. The Madison itself is gorgeous with the outdoor courtyard, modern cocktail hour room, and the ballroom. We worked with Andrew (drapes/lighting vendor) who gives discounts to couples having a wedding at the Madison and it really elevated the ballroom and made it unique. Also, the food at the Madison was fantastic! We did the Lafayette package and all of our guests said the cocktail hour was the best they'd had, the drinks were made well, and the steak was delicious! They also don't skimp on the portions so everyone was stuffed but got to burn lots of calories on the dance floor! B was very attentive to me and my husband and made sure we got all our food and drinks first (which can be hard to do when you're talking to everyone). The bartenders and waiters were simply amazing as well! No one had to wait for a drink at the open bar. All our guests said the service was the best they'd ever seen and I just can't rave enough about how amazing The Madison is to hold any event! 10/10 recommend and I'd love to celebrate anniversaries there in the future! read more

Attended a very socially distant baby shower here last weekend. I was never here before and I was very impressed! The room we were in was a nice size and we had less than 20 people at the shower. The room didn't seem too big at all because of the way the tables were set up, along with the gift and favor tables. Plus they had limited seating at each table. The Madison is my parent's favorite restaurant, and luckily I was recently able to join them there for dinner. Overall, I loved the experience. The food was great, the service was attentive and the venue was beautiful. The Madison offers a variety of Pre Fix Menus. I ate here on a Tuesday, so I was able to take advantage of their Spring Mid Week Pre Fix Menu. Three courses for $25- a total steal. During the course of the dinner I was able to try two appetizers; the Potato Ricotta Gnocchi and Calamari. Both were delicious. The serving size for the Calamari was beyond generous and could be shared pretty easily. If you don't like anything spicy, ask them to put the sauce on the side. Oh, and get ready to ask for more bread- it's that delicious. For dinner I had the Berkshire Pork Piccata. This dish had two large pieces of pork sitting on top of mushrooms and risotto. To finish off a delicious meal, I ordered the flour-less chocolate cake. The cake was moist, rich and drizzled with raspberry sauce. In addition to their restaurant it appeared they had a bar. Also they host various event, mostly music related. They also have private rooms for parties. A few other things to note; they are closed on mondays, you can book through open table and there is a parking lot behind the building. read more

I hosted my sisters bridal shower of 40ish people at The Madison and I am so so glad I did! I booked back in January when Covid restrictions were still in place and The Madison was extremely accommodating when there was so much that was unknown. I felt at ease that they were going to work with me to make the event a success, even if there were more restrictions, or we couldn't host as many people etc. Jessica was so communicative with me throughout the entire process, answering the million questions I had, working with last minute changes and just being a great person to work with. The day of our event was 90 degrees and I was so in love with the courtyard that I wanted to host it outside still. I made the last minute decision to move it inside and it wasn't even an issue. The space turned out beautifully (I probably saved hundreds of dollars using items from their decor closet). Bianca let us visit the venue as many times as we needed; Diane helped us the day of ,nothing was too small of an ask of her; Brenda created seriously FANTASTIC drinks for our guests (hello covid crush); I cannot recall the gentleman who was helping serve but he was nothing short of amazing. Even the people who worked for the valet company were super friendly and helped our guests unload gifts from their cars. I seriously don't have a single bad thing to say about this place. The space, the people, the FOOD (!), all incredible. Looking forward to hosting another event here in the future (baby shower?). 5 stars! read more

The "New" Madison is amazing. The "Old" Madison was nothing to sneeze at either. The updated staff is upbeat and eager to please. The food was incredible. Personally our party had the following: Appetizers- The Super Nachos Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls The Nachos were good. Typical nachos but with black olives and scallions. It was served with sour cream. It could use a few more traditional toppings, but all in all- a great starter! The Cheesesteak Egg Rolls were AMAZING. The flavor was outstanding and wasn't overpowered by cheese. It was served with a slightly spicy cream type sauce. Maybe chipotle? It was just as delicious by itself. I personally didn't need the sauce. Entrees- Crab Cake Platter Pork Chop Platter Chicken Pasta Dish The entrees were all plated beautifully. I wish I had taken photos to share. Everyone cleaned their plates. The Crab Cakes came with a creamy cheesy risotto and carrots. The Pork Chop was bone attached and cooked perfectly. It was served with fresh steamed green beans and whipped parsnips. The flavors worked so well together. The Chicken Pasta was composed of beautifully roasted tomatoes, red peppers, and fresh spinach in a light white wine garlic sauce. It is also offered with artichokes but I requested mine without. It was colorful and delicious. We tried all of the desserts offered to share with the table. Lava Cake Cheesecake with Raspberry Coulis Key Lime Pie Dark Side of the Moon Cake The clear table favorite was the Dark side of the moon cake. It was light and decadent at the same time. Perfection in a chocolate form. The next was a tie between the cheesecake and the lava cake. Both were excellent. The lava cake would pair nicely with some ice cream. Lastly was the key lime pie. It was nice. It had more of a cheesecake consistency and was spot on with flavor. You really can't go wrong while ordering here. Everything was outstanding from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. The staff, the service, and most importantly, the food- all leaving us very excited for our next visit! I haven't mentioned it yet, but the prices were also phenomenal. For the quality The Madison offers it feels like they are giving the food away. I can't say enough wonderful things about The Madison. From the beginning we had a great feeling about The Madison. They were the first venue that we met with that provided upfront pricing. Most venues give you a price that doesn't include tax or gratuity so you don't even realize you are over budget before you even start. They were welcoming, helpful, and clearly experts in their field. We fell in love with the BEAUTIFUL outside fire place and gave the deposit on the spot. We originally booked with another wedding coordinator who had left, but The Madison immediately reached out with our new contact's information. Thomas quickly followed up with an email introducing himself and we fell IN LOVE. Thomas is warm, welcoming, hilarious, and completely adorable. He answered all of our emails in a timely fashion, made a lot of valuable suggestions, and answered all of our questions. During our rehearsal our entire wedding party could not stop complementing how funny, warm, and relatable Thomas was. One of my bridesmaids was so jealous she didn't have a Thomas at her wedding. Even if we didn't fall in love with the outside space we would book solely for Thomas. For our tasting we had the pleasure of meeting Jake and having him as our server. By the end of our tasting, my mom was asking Jake his schedule to ensure that he would be at my wedding. He knew so much about the food, was extremely helpful with our selections, was personable, and funny. We found out that Jake's mom also works at the venue and we hoped they would be at our wedding. Luckily they both were and they were FANTASTIC. All of the staff of The Madison the night of our wedding were truly incredible. I came here with several friends and sat at The Tavern. Not only was the waitress very confused but she also sent us the wrong drinks and was not attentive. We ordered the Buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer. It was served in a skillet which I'm guessing was supposed to be hot. The dip was cold and was also hard. Fantastic wedding venue! We had a small wedding in April 2022 and everything was perfect. Our wedding was beautiful! Kailey and Thomas were wonderful to work with from day one and managed every detail of the wedding and reception with ease. Planning, set up, service, you name it, they mastered it. When one thinks of Riverside, New Jersey, fine dining isn't exactly the first thing that comes to mind. My parents would occasionally go to The Madison and tell me how good the food was, but being as I know the area I never figured that any restaurant there would actually be halfway decent. With that being said, I am entirely grateful that they took me there where I was able to find my favorite place to eat in New Jersey, probably anywhere. We got to The Madison and parked in the back, so we walked through the outside dining which is very nice with decorative brick and stonework, lights strung overhead, and a large fireplace on the far side of the patio. I have yet to eat outside but look forward to the opportunity. Entering the restaurant itself, you are greeted by a waterfall and a very nice martini bar as well as a polite hostess. The interior is very elegant and modern with large mirrors, decorative water walls, exposed ceilings, and an open kitchen. You definitely know you aren't in a cheap restaurant. The whole design is welcoming and the tables are far enough apart that you don't feel like you are on top of the other diners. This is without a doubt one of the nicer looking restaurants in all of New Jersey. I was originally concerned when I glanced over the menu and saw some of the prices. They weren't too extravagant but definitely pricey considering the area. I thought the food was going to be overpriced but when I first took a bite of the appetizer I knew I was in for a treat. Everything from the Asian Spiced Calamari, Shrimp Risotto, Grilled Caesar Salad, to the Snapper with blood oranges on top of a wild mushroom risotto, the Delmonico steak or Porterhouse steak or Filet Mignon with Boursin mashed potatoes, to the lemon Panna Cotta with blueberry Compote, vanilla Creme Brulee, or Tirimisu is absolutely incredible, cooked perfectly, and tastes amazing The food is rounded of with a nice Martini menu and an extensive wine selection. It's gotten to the point where whenever I eat out, everything is compared to The Madison. It has become my gold standard for fine dining. I have been to Cafe Madison with ten different people and no one has had anything to say about our meal other than it was exquisite. Their chefs are highly skilled and great at what they do. (One of their chefs, Cindy Stanmirov, while she was working at The Madison, was on Hell's Kitchen and finished in the top 3 to give you an idea of the talent they employ) Being that the meals can be expensive, (a meal for 2 can easily reach $150 or more) this definitely isn't a restaurant you could frequent often, but is a delectable treat on occasion. It is one of the very few restaurants that I look forward to with great anticipation. If you are looking to have one of the best meals you've ever had and a generally great dining experience, go to The Madison, I can't recommend it enough. read more

We went there for Mother's day tonight. It was a price fixe menu... appetizer, meal, and dessert for 39.95. Our reservation was for 5pm. As soon as we got there, we were told what they were out of. Okay, that is fine, but then we were told that there were only two choices for the children, chicken fingers or pasta with red sauce, 14.95. A little limited but we were not going to pay 40 for a nine year old. I started with the tuna which was delicious. I then had the sirloin which was excellent flavor but I asked for it to be medium rare and got it medium well. A touch too dry for me. The carrot cake for dessert was good. Not great but not bad. My wife had the ham wrapped salmon which seemed like it was in the oven for about 20 minutes too long. It was dry. My daughter had the chicken fingers which were pretty good. All in all, I think that if I had been there on a non holiday night, I think that the food would have been outstanding. I believe that it was just too busy and the chefs were trying to crank out mass amounts of food as fast as possible to get people in and out. There is the Courtyard: Outdoor bar and BBQ grill. (Casual) The Café Madison: This is the main dining area (Smart Casual). Nice ambiance, low lighting, live piano playing musician playing while you dine. Towne Tavern: The main bar, drinks, soups and entrees. (Casual) The Madison also does weddings and private events. This is a hidden gem, located right in Riverside. It's "hidden in plain view." The hostess wanted to seat us at a table kind of in the middle of the restaurant, my wife asked to be seated in one of the side areas, it was like a semi booth, but ran the length of the wall. Thanksgiving Bust! My family of 7 for Thanksgiving dinner was shocked by the food. My brother, a vegetarian was given a vegetarian option that was burnt vegetables (flavorless). His appetizer was brought out with bacon on top of it when waitress was already alerted he was a vegetarian. Waitress had a very odd personality and seemed better suited for a bar instead of fine dining (think truck stop). My 6 oz filet was not cooked to order and pink inside. A beautiful cooked turkey was displayed but not enjoyed at our table. Sides were cold and flavorless. Disappointing and never will go back. On top of the service, food and the air conditioning kept coming on to make you feel like you are in a wind tunnel. Overpriced as well. I can't rave about this place enough. They are hands down the best venue I've ever worked with as an event planner. The first person I encountered upon entering was a lady sweeping near the entrance, she was so sweet, friendly and helpful! She helped make a world of difference in my hectic, rainy morning! Justin, the event captain, was absolutely phenomenal. He was there within a minute to help or answer any questions and he was a hit with all of my guests. Rachel behind the bar was so sweet and eager to help make the room look amazing by setting some decor out on the bar for me. The food was delicious from start to finish, I had compliments from the whole room and my nieces told me that those were the best chicken fingers they've ever had (2 & 7 years old lol). Not even tossed in the sauce. The wedge salad was also very disappointing. The candied bacon just tasted like smoked fat or rubber, the pickled onions were scary looking (who puts pickled onions on a wedge salad), and the tomato was old and inedible.
