The ladies at the counter are fantastic. A washing machine has been out of order for a couple of years. The washing spin cycle doesn't go on long enough. I could ring water out of my clothes. Just means you spend more on drying. If you can, take your drying home to dry. It will save you lots of money. Even after all this, this is the only game in town for a fairly clean, central place to wash your clothes.

The machines are modern abd clean - in fact the whole place is clean. Very personable owner often on duty .... But she heads out now and then ... but then often comes back if she detects the place is getting busy. I'm very satisfied with how things work here. There's additional rinse available should you have the time - and no extra charge. There's reliable money change machines and soap and fabric sheets all available if you haven't brought your own. Clean - modern - numerous machines - floor was spotless the days I've attended - parking was right in front. I've trued about 16 or 17 of the machines - it's now my go to. I'm guessing until I replace my worn out Samsungs - this will be my replacement laundry. Really good coffee shop across the street - Beamer's - which was also right on their game - I like establishments that don't rest on their old accomplishments - both places have distinguished themselves and in different ways - maybe there's something in the water out there in Canmore. Anyway - it's a no brained - clean equipment - attentive staff - modern well lit facility - it's what I needed abd both times they delivered and I'm talking 14 or 15 loads of laundry.

I didn't find the owner to be kind and attentive as the website and other reviews suggest. In fact I found him to be downright rude. He certainly was "kind" enough to temporarily lend me two loonies when my toonie accidentally rolled under a machine (free money for him I guess if he ever decides to clean the place) and give me some extra soap, but before that he berated me for not understanding how to use the two-stage washer. He was right. It was my first time ever visiting the establishment and I freely admitted to not knowing how to work the machine. There was a two-stage soap system and an unreadable cycle dial on the machine that he was quick to patronize me about not understanding. Free laundry lessons and helpful service boasts their retro website. Not here. After paying him back the two loonies he lent me, when it came time to dry my comforter he went out of his way insult me again for hanging my empty IKEA bag on the handle of the dryer into which I had just inserted $2. Seriously, why treat neighbors like this? Has this dude got nothing better to do than nag paying customers? He wore a mask 50-50 when coming out of the back room, so I would encourage people to keep their distance and wash their hands if they visit. All in all Lux was a disappointing experience filled with unnecessary rudeness. I won't be back and neither should you. Oddly, the owner seemed perfectly chummy with other customers who came in as I was on my way out. This included the two homeless people who threw their giant bags of dirty clothes all over the floor and blocked the aisle from which I was trying to leave.
