I needed to wash my queen sized comforter and live in the neighborhood so I visited to make use of Lux's triple-load machine. It was an odd experience that wound up being mostly bad. I didn't find the owner to be kind and attentive as the website and other reviews suggest. In fact I found him to be downright rude. He certainly was "kind" enough to temporarily lend me two loonies when my toonie accidentally rolled under a machine (free money for him I guess if he ever decides to clean the place) and give me some extra soap, but before that he berated me for not understanding how to use the two-stage washer. He was right. It was my first time ever visiting the establishment and I freely admitted to not knowing how to work the machine. There was a two-stage soap system and an unreadable cycle dial on the machine that he was quick to patronize me about not understanding. Free laundry lessons and helpful service boasts their retro website. Not here. After paying him back the two loonies he lent me, when it came time to dry my comforter he went out of his way insult me again for hanging my empty IKEA bag on the handle of the dryer into which I had just inserted $2. Seriously, why treat neighbors like this? Has this dude got nothing better to do than nag paying customers? He wore a mask 50-50 when coming out of the back room, so I would encourage people to keep their distance and wash their hands if they visit. All in all Lux was a disappointing experience filled with unnecessary rudeness. I won't be back and neither should you. Oddly, the owner seemed perfectly chummy with other customers who came in as I was on my way out. This included the two homeless people who threw their giant bags of dirty clothes all over the floor and blocked the aisle from which I was trying to leave. From 2017 to 2 2020 I was a loyal customer dropping off my laundry off every month 9 to 11 garbage bags. Estimating $180 to $220+ tip monthly so approximately from 2015 to 2020 I have put in Jarretts pocket over $9228!I came to him with my concerns of my clothing going missing,still dirty, poorly folded and completely wrinkled!! He confirmed my concerns, apologized and promise this will not continue He has always been weird & creepy he always commented on my clothing and how expensive my clothing is and expressed which pantie set was nicer than the other! again my LINGERIE & PANTY SET Went missing.he admitted that his these two ladies were helping,he would get to the bottom of it!He's even memorized my clothing my girlfriend was doing my laundry there,he commented on who's laundry she was doing and which shirt was more expensive than the other. she found that it was a Necessary to tell me since she found it very creepy! I thought I would give him one more chance since I was leaving town and need to drop off my laundry quickly, (which I dropped 9 bags off)he phoned me at 6:30pm,the next day tells me that my laundry is finished with a giggle says there was an incident in the afternoon.I get there,he laughed and said that these two Indian bitches came in here and tried to steal all my clothing from the dryers, my blue,red tommy hoodie matching pants and about whole garbage bag full of stuff but not very much he says laughing! I asked him why are you telling me at 6:30 at night after the police have come? why wouldn't you call me right when the incident happened?I am the customer that it happened too!! That's what you're supposed to do when you own a business!! AGAIN..I was very confused why he did not call me right when the incident happened not at 6:30 at night and it happened at noon?? HHMMM??And where were you when they stole 6 garbage bags full of my clothing?I asked him why were you not watching my clothing? did you just leave or were you outside having your 105th cigarette and not noticing people going through your dryer's and stealing clothing? I'm paying you over $9000 to do my laundry I expect you to stand there and guard my clothing! my 25 year old son died in a car crash..He was a Hudson Bay model I asked JARRET to take EXTRA care of the clothing that was in a certain bag because I was washing THE ITEM TO GIVE TO HIS YOUNGER BROTHERS MOST OF THE ITEMS were his modeling clothes 1 of the outfits my mother was going to hang in a picture FRAME ..IM COMPLETELY DEVASTATE He tells me the police came and he wrote some statement,he handed me 2 and a half garbage bags don't you have insurance?Don't you have cameras? He tells me that they are fake,he doesn't have insurance! Your supposed to have insurance when you own a Business? someone trusts you with their personal items and that's what you advertise is to take care of the personal items correct?I don't make a profit!That's not my PROBLEM! Worst experience I've ever had, my washer broke so I came here, well should have just waited or hand washed my close would have had a better result. You go in and it's cold and no one is there. It's like a ghost town, then every 15mins you see the owner, just briefly as he goes out for his smoke. Gives you this unwelcoming look, like he's better then you and your ruining his day. God for bid you need his help with something or have a question, talks to you as if your a moron. All he wants is your money, his machines barley clean your clothes and don't dry. I Had something spill on my shirt and it dried and went flakey, so I had thrown that in as well. Pulled out when was was done. Didn't even get it clean, nothing was clean. Smelled good. But that was just my Gain laundry Pods. Love Gain. Anyways I took that home after the whole ordeal and hand washed it. Came out so easy. So his washing machines suck. Then I through everything into the dryer. 30mins later everything is still wet. Added another 30mins. Still wet. And the dryer record some of my clothes. Got fed up and went home. Over priced, waste of my money. It wasn't very clean in there, he's a jerk. Machines wreck your stuff and don't wash or dry. read more

When I found out that the hotel laundry service at the Marriott was not available on weekends, I somehow found this place. Their full service laundry is so affordable and the do it yourself machines are great too. My first visit there and the the guy running the place is so rude.i was about to put my small kitchen runner carpet in a triple loader machine and he was right on me berating me saying that it's people like me that break his machines. Lux is awesome! The shop is spotless and the machines are in great working order. Although there's no fancy LED read outs and digital timers, the machines are in better than new working order and clean your clothes quickly and efficiently. I am travelling for work and had so much laundry. Walked in on a holiday and The owner was helpful and really informative. We talked about the history of the area, and also about why my machine at home has been acting up. He taught me about how to properly load my machine and also how a front loader versus a top loader works. Info I wish I had had before I purchased my home machines! LUX was just what we needed after traveling from Banff and Kootenay camping in the rain along the way. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. There is an ATM right next door at the gas station where you can get Canadian money to use in the change machine. Easy to find off the freeway and lots of parking. Now we're all clean and fresh and ready to continue our trip back to the States. read more

the owner goes above and beyond to help you out with your laundry needs. takes time to instruct on best laundry practices which i appreciate. i started using the free pick-up and delivery laundry service & the owner delivers on what he promises! I recommend this groovy little local business and also dig the fact that he supports local artists and has art shows every month! one thing I have witnessed is that there are a few people who come in and try to take advantage of the machines and over-stuff them. the owner will explain the proper procedure for loading which is a good thing. he has to pay for any damages if the machine breaks. read more
