It looked like it had need cooked three days ago, was as hard as nails, tough as old boots and less edible than either. Accompanied by a small portion of cold, pallid, greasy chips and an undressed salad, it was quite one of the most lame excuses for food I have seen in a long time. Of course it was returned, but not them taken off the bill. No fuss in taking it off, but no apology, explanation or compensatory drink, chocolate or word from the manager. My partners casserole was adequate. Bland, not very hot and small but she can't help that. The food however was an unmitigated disaster. Chain pubs at their worst

Great in the winter if you can get a table next to one of the fires. Also good in summer where you can sit outside on the benches. Good selection of food from menu, and specials board. Always nice food, and well presented. Always different selection of ales and beers on tap. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Plenty of parking. On a busy road which is well known for accidents. Used to be a 60mph road, which has recently been changed to a 40mph due to the number of accidents.

Bullied and embarrassed into buying a drink!!! Got into the…read morecheese hall at 20:10 to go and watch the football with 4 friends, I met them in there, I was the designated driver for the I rarely drink alcohol. It had been twenty minutes and the Tottenham game was becoming very interesting. The owner of the pub come over to me and asked if I was buying a drink which I replied yes I just happened to lost track of time watching the football match, he then replied it's not a youth club. I felt embarrassed, humiliated and felt I was being bullied into buying a drink, five minutes after he asked me again which I said I don't appreciate being bullied into getting a drink when I was going to buy one. I was then told to leave the pub. My friends left as well. Part of the customers in the pub said they were also embarrassed by the way the owner spoke to me. I thought it was supposed to be friendly in there not to be bullied into buying a drink.
