History
Established in 2012.
I began in 2012 with an Etsy shop, making decorated cowboy boots, jackets, and handmade dresses. My etsy shop immediately took off and over time, I began to make more clothing. I opened a web shop as well and began to attend European fashion trade shows and added similar styled clothing from Europe to my shop offerings. I now offer mostly European indie brand clothing which fits with the free spirited vibe of my shop. I am the only US seller of some of these brands and most of the time I only have a few pieces available in each style. These European clothes are made mostly of cotton, linen or silk, and are free fitting and super comfortable! I do also offer handmade and upcycled items as well as jewelry, hats, bags, and other footwear and accessories. The shop style is relaxed and unique with inspiration from tribal, gypsy, island and vintage, to western.
Meet the Business Owner: Julie H.
I have always loved art, fashion, travel, vintage and antique items, and sewing and saving things and making the old new again. I recently purchased a second home in France and there I began attending fashion shows and importing fabrics, trims, antique linens, and beautiful bohemian clothing. I have also recently opened a physical location in an historical stone cottage in beautiful historic Elsah, Illinois. Before college and law school I attended art school and have been sewing and creating things all my life. I began upcycling vintage boots in 2012 and opened an Etsy shop where I was the first boot maker of this kind. That store grew and grew. Here I am now, creating importing and selling things I would like to have myself! I am very picky about the fabrics and fashions I use and sell and you will find that they are almost exclusively made of cottons, linens, and silk.
