Great selection of locally made stuff! Great for gift giving! I'll be back again soon!

I stopped by the Parker location for the first time in a while after we moved to the area. I just needed a greeting card but ended up leaving with a bunch of other items. They have a huge selection of fresh eggs, fresh and frozen meat, fresh milk, and so much more from local sources here in Colorado. I was talking to the younger guy at the register and he mentioned they don't sell a lot of eggs and meat which is a shame because they have an amazing selection and everything looks amazing and the pricing is very fair as well. I also discovered that this location sells a brand of frozen take and bake fruit pies that I haven't been able to find many places. I paid less than $6 per dozen eggs. I will absolutely be back for more eggs and other grocery items. And I will definitely consider this location at the top of my list any time I'm looking for little gifts for people for various occasions. I highly recommend the Parker location and I had a great experience there. read more

Great location and shop! Located off main street along with coffee shop and other establishments. We waited for the shop to open which open until 10am. In the back of the shop they have a section for foods: spices, pastas, lemonades, salsas you name it. Since I could make it to the farmers market Sunday. Figured I could stop here for some local honey. They had multiple selections to choose from and different price ranges. I also found a great selection of spices for meats aka pork, hamburgers and the like, for my dad. I like the gym apparel as well. They have yoga pants, tanks, bike shorts as well as kid sizes. Soaps and bath bombs that smelled amazing! Cute house decor such as towels, bowls, kitchen appliances. We stopped here last year before Christmas and bough a few gifts for family. read more

We love this store and always look to support local (pun intended) stores and the craftspeople that provide products. This visit was unfortunately a disappointment. We bought a plaid jacket for my wife. It looks great and fit her well. The issue is, this was not produced locally. We didn't examine the tag until home. This jacket was made in China! I don't mind that but I do mind shopping in a store promoting local but selling inexpensive imported clothing. We still like this store and will shop there again. We will have to be more diligent in checking labels next time. read more

The Local is an awesome addition to Mainstreet in Parker! It's right on Mainstreet, not far from the library, and it replaced the shop that had the most random of items (which was still fun too). Inside the store, there are clothes, soaps, home decor, a few food items, and some really fun gift ideas. Like the name implies, the items are made locally, and there's some cool stuff in there! It's a fun place to browse and shop, and the store is laid out well. It doesn't feel cramped or cluttered like the store it replaced, and everything seems high quality and has some character. I'm sure we'll be regularly buying Colorado-made soaps and honey here! Also, if you like decorating your home with Etsy-like signs and things, there's plenty to look at here as well. With Amazon taking over the world, it's so important to shop locally and support your community. Not only does it help the people who make the items, but your sales tax contributes to the community in a much more substantial way. I'm so happy that we have The Local in Parker now. It's a great place to get cool stuff, support your town, and support small businesses in Colorado too. read more

Love this place so much. A welcome addition to the little strip of downtown parker, it's situated a few doors down from Fika, the beloved coffee shop on main street. The building is historic and quaint, and the Local plays that up by organizing the artist's wares on piecemeal barrels, mismatched wooden tables, metal tubs, and antique cabinets. The same sweet franchise owner is always there (there's a second location at Southlands), and she's calm, pleasant, and always tells you about the new treats or upcoming releases from the different stalls. The Local is actually a consignment store for handmade/artisan local goods, just like the name suggests, and it has a surprisingly wide variety of offerings. Everything from handmade soaps to local honey, from modern, country-chic clothes to locally farmed organic eggs and meats. It's the perfect place to buy souvenirs from the area, made by artisans in the area. The prices are simultaneously quite low, while also offering a very reasonable consignment fee to the artists so more money goes home in the artist's pocket. If you like local, artist-made, organic feeling treats, tchotchkes, and tees, then stop in and surprise yourself by the variety of cool things you can find. I can personally recommend the blueberry pies in the freezer, the small batch caramels and marshmallows at the front, the local sodas in the refrigerated case by the registers, and the balsamic vinegars in the center of the store. I can also tell you a solid 1/4 of my closet is from the boutique on the wall in the back area. The brand is a careful cultivation of small batch production tees and dresses under the moniker "Wooden Lace." Softest shirts I've ever felt in my life. They only stock a handful of items at a time, but they usually have at least one of each size, AND they go up to a 2X which is inclusive and should be commended. On the other hand, the leggings on the back wall are sized impossibly, and at an XL wouldn't fit my size 6 behind when I tried them on--not even close. I couldn't get them past my knees, and I tried a few pairs to make sure it wasn't a labeling error. That's a bummer, because they have some really cute Colorado prints. That said, I haven't tried them on in at least 6 months, so it's possible they've corrected the sizing issues. Going in with a shopping list would leave you frustrated, since it's such an eclectic mix of items that varies by the week, but going in with a modest handful of cash will yield you a couple of shirts, a box of artisan marshmallows, a bottle of fantastic balsamic vinegar, a pie, some handmade pasta, a locally pastured sirloin, and a dozen eggs. I love this shop! They have a bunch of stuff from local vendors from coffee, housewares, clothes, baby clothes, pet stuff and even meat from local suppliers! The items were kind of expensive for my taste but everything was really great quality and I'm sure is worth it, there was so much I wanted to get but couldn't really justify it. Maybe if they advertised any sales. It would be a great place for gift shopping since theres a little bit of everything read more
