LOVE LOVE LOVE! Things they did right: Service, price point, flavor. Everyone in my family enjoyed everything. Initially we'd planned to go to a different lobster roll place only because we just knew about them. They were closed so we came across this gem! So happy we did!! Mom and pop restaurant away from the touristy area serving great lobster dishes for decent prices. The place is inviting and cozy. The owner is funny and super accommodating. He even tried to make up a dish for my little picky eater. Between us we had lobster rolls and the pasta! It was SO good man! lol I can't wait to go back to Pensacola just for this. I might go this weekend, hmm!! Go get a lobster roll! Thank me later. read more

If you live in Pensacola or travel there, I would highly recommend trying The Lobster Cage. Make sure to check Yelp for their hours because she closes for a few hours then reopens later in the evening. I walked in and there was just a couple eating. It's a nice size place. The owner is a 1 woman show. She told me she does everything. If she gets busy she'll have her boyfriend who owns the building come help her. Obviously they specialize in Lobster. It's main Lobster which can be quite expensive. She is Thai so she incorporates traditional Thai flavor in her food. I ordered the Lobster Tom Yum soup. Boy was this soup plentiful and flavorful! I wish I got her name but the owner believes in never going hungry. The bowl is huge and there were chunks of main lobster sitting on top as well as mixed in the bowl. I tasted strong hot and sour flavors. Just a fragrant broth of lemongrass, galangal, lime leaves, fish sauce. I like mine spicy so she gave me some sate sauce to add. It's her own special recipe I must say it's one of the best soups I've had. Not to mention the bowl is full of noodles too! I wanted to go back and get a Lobster roll which came highly recommended but I ran out of time on my trip. I'm all for supporting small family businesses.. and it's woman owned! Please go try The Lobster Cage! Tell them you saw my review( San Diego perspective) read more

We came around 11;30ish and it was pretty empty. The co owner was the one cooking and taking orders. We talked with her a bit and she is the one that does it all and the other co owner also goes in when is busy. It is not a big place but it felt welcoming. Now im not a big lobster person but my boyfriend is and he loves lobster. I have to say this was probably the best lobster roll I had on this side of the coast. My boyfriend loved it as well. We will be back and I may have just become a lobster person! Thank you! read more

The Lobster Cage - Warm roll with coleslaw which was also good. - Seafood Near Me - Pensacola, Florida

Menu is limited, but the food is really good. Service is great and food comes out really fast. Quiet little spot with awesome lobster rolls.

We were in town last week and we saw this place while we were driving down the street. The reviews were very good so we decided to stop in and I must say, this was worth that and so much more. The owner came out and he is awesome. Where can you go and get real, delicious lobster and play on a golf simulator at the same time??? All of the dishes were above average and he prepared everything fresh and to order. Even the bread on the warm lobster roll had the right crunch. This place is definitely a must and we will be back when we come this way. You need to make a conscious effort to get by here and get the best lobster meals at the best prices anywhere!!! read more

Updating my review dropping 3 stars because things have changed. I know things are more expensive for everyone right now, but this place has progressively gotten worse, and the past couple of times we've visited the experience was not great. The bowls of lobster bisque have been reduced by half for the same price, and where there was once lots of lobster chunks in the bisque, now there are none. The Lobster Rolls, which were once loaded with lobster, now have barely enough to constitute a sandwich-- nevermind having to pay the same price. On a side note, I don't know what's up with the woman who works there. We had been frequent customers, but she hasn't been able to figure out simple orders lately. We have to tell her our order SEVERAL times, each of us ordering lobster rolls and a bowl of bisque: 1 cold, 2 warm. Sides: 2 chips, one coleslaw. She still brought all chips, no coleslaw. She also seemed confused by the next couple in line. I don't know, but unless they decide to do something different I can't see them sticking around. We certainly won't be back. read more

Skeptical turned into we will be back Good was so good super close to New England quality . Pasta was great , bisque was great . And the owners were super friendly and place was really nice and clean read more

We were looking for a place for lunch before shopping at Costco and found this place on Yelp. It's a small place with few tables and you order at the counter. Three of us ordered lobster rolls in buttered sauce, and one ordered the quesadilla. The rolls were overflowing with big chunks of lobster (we prefer chunks of lobsters rather than shredded lobster pieces). All the food were delicious, as the kids ate every bite. The service was friendly. We will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone. read more

Outstanding service, outstanding lobster roll. Get the double meat, pricey but worth it

Huge fan. My roll was absolutely fantastic. The bread was warm and covered with butter. The lobster was plied high and was very fresh. Prices are very reasonable. This is a very cool place to enjoy an amazing sandwich. Plenty of parking and the restroom was very clean. Service was excellent. Definitely coming back next time I am in Pensacola. read more

I always pass by this place with curiosity, but it's late and I'm always busy. So on Monday I was getting my tire fixed at Walmart and I was Yelping lol and saw this place. I had time so I decided to look at the menu and reviews, the food looked good. Bummer they're closed on Monday's. I decided to try it today, let me tell you I wasn't disappointed. The food is delicious! I enjoyed everything, no complaints. I will definitely visit again! read more

Amazing experience! Lobster roll was surprisingly loaded with meat, it included sides, I chose potato salad and it was delicious as well. Co owner Tang makes her own special Thai sauce which is to die for. I wish I would have had enough room to try another sandwich. Restaurant has a golf simulator which is a neat bit of fun. Owners are very charismatic and a joy to talk to, make you feel like you're long time friends. An absolute must try if you haven't been there. read more

I went back to The Lobster Cage in Pensacola, FL for another visit yesterday, and it was once again fantastic. The place isn't fancy, but it's clean and comfortable, with a straightforward setup that works for me. It's family-owned, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into making it a great experience. It's counter-service, but the staff is super friendly and always ready to help with suggestions. I've had the lobster bisque, that's spot on, and everything I've had here is quite good. This trip I treated myself and got the ribeye and lobster with the Thai-infused pasta with rice noodles and a tasty Thai sauce. My honey had the Lobster with Thai-infused pasta, for the first time instead of usual lobster roll. We very much enjoyed those well prepared and wonderfully seasoned general portion dishes!! I am putting it in my hot rotation of Pensacola eateries. Bottom line: I've lived in New England, had great seafood meals from Bar Harbor, ME to Key West, FL to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco so I'm picky about seafood, but The Lobster Cage is a winner. If you're in Pensacola and like lobster, it's a great spot to check out. I'll definitely be back. Hours (as of my visit on June 25, 2025): Tuesday-Sunday: 11 AM-3 PM, 5 PM-7:30 PM Check them out at thelobstercage.com or on their Facebook page for more info. read more

What a cute little spot. Not too fancy, which makes it comfy and fun. The owner makes it even more like a friendly, family place. Everyone inside (and it was full) was friendly, helped us pick what we should order, and all talked to us and each other from table to table. It was like being in a local "Cheers". We ordered a cold and a hot lobster roll. We also ordered the potato salad as recommended by ALL of the other customers and the owner. It was not a mistake! It was delicious. I gave to tell you, I'm a potato salad snob. I don't like anyone's potato salad aside from my mom's and my own. But this salad was really great! Hubby and I both liked the lobster rolls and were happy with the amount of lobster on each. The bread was perfection (so good) and the perfect combination with the lobster. There was a tv to watch, pics of the menu items posted and a nice manageable menu. The owner works alone. Which works well in the small spot. The wait was super short for our food and the prices were great!! We are used to paying so much more for lobster rolls! Well worth the price and a delicious meal. Tang (the super sweet owner) will absolutely be seeing us again!! Please pay attention to the hours!! She closes Briefly between lunch and dinner. Thanks for a great visit and a great meal Ms. Tang!! read more

The Lobster Cage is hands down my go-to spot for warm lobster rolls. The bread is so fresh it basically squeaks when you bite it, and the lobster? Absolute melt-in-your-mouth magic. Tried the Lobster Thai pasta too, and let's just say I didn't leave a single noodle behind. Service is always great--especially the super friendly woman behind the counter who makes you feel like you're part of the family (a well-fed family with really good taste). We've been here a bunch of times already, and every visit just makes me hungrier for the next. Next on my hit list: the chicken wings and lobster mac, which look like "must tries". read more

Upon entering you are greeted with a limited number of tables as well as a friendly hello from the owners. Service was fast and friendly. We did have to wait several minutes for a table to free up so I suggest grabbing one if any are open. The lobster roll had large amounts of delicious lobster with creamy mayo and fresh lemon ( they also serve hot lobster rolls as well). The roll was buttery and soft with a grilled outer layer. Potato salad was served on side which was well seasoned. Drink choices are canned soda along with other bottled beverages. One of my favorite lobster roll spots ! read more

Stopped here on a road trip from Texas to Orlando, and I have to say we were highly impressed. Inside the restaurant is fairly small with limited seating. But it looks like most orders were to go. We ordered the warm lobster rolls, lobster bisque, lobster Mac and cheese, and the cheesecake for dessert. All the food was outstanding. There is nothing I could really do to improve it. We enjoyed it so much, that we ordered a second round of lobster rolls. And I'll say they do not skimp on the amount of lobster in any of the dishes. The staff was amazingly friendly and inviting. We absolutely loved this place and will be back on any future road trips. Highly recommend! read more

So delicious! I am worried about recommending this place! If more people like the place- then it will be less food for me.

Best lobster roll in town by far. Served on a Texas toast style bread soaked in butter. With a decent portion of lobster. Comes with a side of potato salad, coleslaw or chips. If you're a lobster lover like me, go for the double meat!!! read more

My husband and I love this place! The owners are so sweet and interactive. Today was our second visit, and we left very satisfied and super full. On our first visit, they had a promotional sale for only their lobster rolls, cold and hot. We got one of each, and they came with a bag of chips. Both rolls were fantastic! We ordered for lunchtime around noon, but I was pretty much craving for more when dinner time came. The rolls were fresh and hot, plus full of flavors. We tried a lobster roll at Disneyland in California, and the ones here were way better. For today's trip, we had dinner and ordered a whole bunch of food. Lobster mac and cheese, lobster and Thai pasta, lobster bisque and grilled cheese, and a berry crepe. All of the lobster dishes were amazing, especially the pasta! We did as for the pasta to be mild, as I prefer non-spicy food. There was just too much food for two adults and a 5-year-old, so we took most of everything to go, except for the crepe. We killed the crepes because one it would not be as good later and two, it was really good!! My daughter practically devoured most of it herself. Food: This place is definitely our go-to for lobster cravings. Several of our friends and neighbors have been here, and they've all enjoyed their experience. Location: It's in an older and smaller plaza, almost like a mom and pop shop, but it's nicely decorated inside. Parking is easy to get into and out of, depending on traffic on Old Palafox. Price: It's lobster. You can't expect crawfish or shrimp price at a lobster location. We thought the prices were very reasonable. $6.99 for crepes and lobster dishes starting at $16.99. The lobsters are imported from Boston and taste amazing! Definitely try this place out, if you haven't. If you have, give it another shot! read more

Ok, I've eaten here 3 times. The people complaining about the fishy smell, that was something I noticed my first visit (the week they opened) but not since then. The good +++ This is an accurate warm buttery lobster roll as good or better than the ones I've had in Maine, and better than the other ones I've tried in Pensacola. +++ The rolls - very accurate rendition and they are having them baked locally. They toast them correctly and fresh for each order. They are slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Portion size is correct as well. +++ Generous portion of lobster, and it's definitely real lobster meat with visible chunks of claw meat. +++ Interesting menu items like crepes and Thai pasta Could be improved -- While the cold roll is good, it does seem a little heavy on the mayo. Since they are prepared when you order, ask for less if you don't want too much. -- LOVE their potato salad, and they also offer coleslaw or potato chips. BUT I would like it if I could get a small serving of the Thai pasta or mac n cheese as the side. Recommendations !! Call ahead if you're doing pickup !! The warm buttery lobster roll really is epic, you must try it! The owners are friendly and I find them interesting. My second visit I called ahead and enjoyed my roll at a table in the store. It was late in the lunch cycle (around 2pm) but the store was spotless and there was not a trace of fishiness in the air. So whatever the problem was with the smell that first week, they've worked that out. read more
