The smallest signs that said "not for bags" were written in sharpie on tape. I was sure I picked all the bag eligible items but when I went to check out every item was rung up. So instead of 7 dollars it came out to 23. In response to owner- I looked for the signs as best I could, I thought all these things I picked out were good to go. The signs are very small and not obvious so it's hard to tell what is individually priced and what's not. Everything in the store has a price on it. But yes next time I will triple read the signs to avoid paying 22 dollars for old pins and beads!:)

The ice cream sundaes we made were so cute and they SMELLED AMAZING! Blooming Candle uses soy based candles, which burn clean! They have a good variety of scents to choose from. The cashier (who I had only glanced at peripherally, makeup/earrings/shoulder length dressed hair) replies to my comment "my pronouns are they/them" I looked up from my child & apologize for saying "her". The cashier now making no eye contact points to a name tag that includes their pronouns & says "I am wearing a pin that states my pronouns" I said "again, I'm sorry I hadn't read your pin or engaged with you I was trying to help my child". The cashier finishes our transaction & while directly in front of us dramatically says to their coworker "I need to take a break I'm too upset". What the heck just happened, at no point prior to speaking to my child had I made a personal engagement with this cashier, I am an Ally & somehow I ended up apologizing twice as if I had intentionally done something wrong to the cashier. After the cashier walked away I asked to speak to a manager to point out what unprofessional interaction had just taken place. The manager's response was that they stand by their employees use of pronouns & feelings. I reminded the manager that I wasn't debating anything about pronouns. My issue was the way this employee responded to this situation, I wasn't an aggressive customer, I didn't make direct personal engagement with the cashier there was no focus pronouns. My obvious issue was the fact that their cashier felt it necessary to stand in front of us after receiving 2 apologies for my misuse of a pronoun & dramatically stated they needed a break because they were too upset" The manager says " I don't know what you're wanting from this because I'm not giving free tickets" I was in shock, I hadn't asked for free tickets, I hadn't asked for anything, my thought was maybe as a manager they would want to know this cashier could use some support in their customer engagement training. This wasn't about intentional misuse of a pronoun or even that I apologized twice for my peripheral mistake, this was about a Seattle Aquarium employee taking dramatic emotional response to what was clearly unintentional. I felt like I ended up in the cashiers therapy session & was receiving the blunt end of what others may have caused them, which is completely inappropriate & unprofessional when all I'm trying to do is help my child count change for their purchase. Thanks Seattle Aquarium for choosing an Ally to target for your employee struggles with no recognition of the customer, way to ruin a visit to the aquarium.
