After a day filled with getting repeatedly lost then a torrential downpour, landing at The Limes Guest House felt as welcome as a heated blanket on a cold day. The grounds were gorgeous and right-sized for the property. A front garden blooming with greenery also featured a modest water feature and an enchanting aviary and the high-ceilinged ground floor room had everything I required. I'd have enjoyed staying here for days but my stay here was for one night only.
In the morning, a wonderful English breakfast is made to order accompanied by other help-yourself items like yogurt and fresh fruits. The dining room is inviting and looks out onto the very green back yard.
The Limes is about a 5-10 minute walk into the center of Stow-on-the-Wold and though you cross a somewhat main road to get there, there's adequate signage, lighting, and crosswalks to make the short walk safe even past dark.
I like a well-maintained, beautiful environment and The Limes was that. Were I coming this way again I'd again choose to stay here and that really says it all. read more
