I still give this place 4 stars, even though I am not a "big" fan of a the changes. Hubby and I have been coming here for years. Finally decided to yelp this place. The place has been renovated and new management has made their mark. This biggest thing I like about this place is the food is always good. Always nice to go to a chill bar, have some drinks, and when you get hungry...actually have some good food that is not considered "bar food." Our first thing we did not like with new management is that the chicken wings are smaller. But after talking to the manager, he stated it was the manufacture who changed their sizes, not them. Whether that is true or not...I dunno. But TODAY, chicken wings seemed bigger. So maybe after enough complaints from the regulars, they knocked off the b.s. So now to the relevant stuff. The service seemed a little slow. Bit definitely friendly and the server was working hard. Not his fault the manager is behind the bar to cut costs from paying an actual bartender, and he has no business being back there. Lol. I'm laughing but I'm serious. Lol. Last time the manager was bartending, he completely forgot our drinks and we were sitting right in the middle of the bar. Lol. Ok, so do I recommend this place? Absolutely. The environment is chill. The food is good. And the drinks are stiff. We live in Roseville, and we will always make the trip to come out here. Would just be nice to see some of the experienced bartenders again instead of the manager who is still learning to bartend. IJS.

Do they have slot machines?

I don't believe so. At least I don't remember seeing any. Card tables for sure! And great food!

There is overflow parking across the street which I had to go park at once. Inside the casino is actually nice but can have big crowds. As you can see in the video it was obviously so busy ... Like really ? ! Do better guys you're ridiculous. What happens if you have a family bigger than 4?! God forbid! Way to ruin my birthday and my kids day... The solution to this according to the worker there was "We can switch out from time by swapping the wristbands off n on or pay for a cabana that oooo will fit 8 guest" Who would pay for a cabana for $480! When it's normally $230?! Ridiculous! #nomorethundervalley #thunderdoesntcare #nothanks #ruinedmybday #dobetterthundervalleycasinoresort Update ----- an hour and a half later a manager showed up and my hubby flagged her down and informed her what happened and she responded with "yeah that's just our rule now because the VP wants us to enforce that rule." No accountability no consequences. Then she proceeds with "she can come down now we can make an exception... " What's the damn point? Too late now. When the girl working the front entrance could have just taken the initiative and called the manager and asked and we could have just avoided all this. Throughout the whole time there the girl just kept looking at my husband and didn't say another word to him. Thanks for ruining my birthday Thundervalley.. We wouldn't have booked a room in the first place.

It sits on a shady edge of downtown where there's not a lot going on, which makes sense since there's not a lot of feasible spots to put a casino in an urban environment. I've visited here on occasion for the 1/3 hold em tables whenever the stars align and I have nothing better to do on a Friday night. The dealers are always polite, the players are split half/half between amateurs/sharks, and the action often continues on at 2am (pro tip: check the Poker Atlas website to see how many tables and players are currently playing at any time). Capitol Casino generally functions well across the board. The venue feels decently spacious (especially when you consider the fact that it's located downtown). They serve decent quality Asian food for late night hours; at 1 in the morning, it's probably your only realistic option. I also took note of their attractive bonuses; the player with the highest hand of the day gets a $200 reward -- no questions asked and can be redeemed any time before 2-3 months. Unfortunately, one major issue stands in the way of a stellar rating. The wait times are utterly ridiculous during peak hours e.g. Friday/Saturday 4-9PM. I once waited 1.5 hours for a 1/3 hold em table, with my patience running on the mere fumes of the sunken ship fallacy (which sounds comically characteristic of a gambling problem, I'm aware). Management needs to either increase the number of playing tables or implement a more efficient reservation system. Decent/above average food, variable action at the tables, and friendly staff. If they ever find a way to reduce the wait times during busy hours, i'll probably give this place another visit.

Busy but not overly so. There were plenty of tables. I noticed the minimum bids were $10-$15 in some cases. There was also a huge bar and restaurant area to hang out in. We came for a private event in the back area beyond the red curtain. There was a golf simulator in the back. It was fun watching others take a swing. Food was catered from the kitchen. Everything was solid. My favorite was the chicken wings - not crispy necessarily but fried and had a good dry rub that had some hot pepper spice. I was not a big fan of the duck tacos. Very small, and the duck flavor was not super prominent, although maybe that's a good thing for some. The bar was busy, lots of (single?) men, some hanging out in small groups. The bartenders were busy but we got our orders in after a short wait. We noticed some people eating at the bar and their menu looks extensive! Someone was having a bowl of pho next to someone else eating a pizza. We love the variety!

15th May, 2026, Norah Jones concert…read more It's a very nice *venue* for a Norah Jones concert, not too big but not too small, either. Her voice reverberated perfectly, her skills on the piano and guitars were exceptionally impressive, her band had good chemistry with her. For a packed arena, the climate was just right. The cocktails we bought inside need a little work, the staff members we encountered were all friendly, polite, respectful and friendly. The only problem we had, we as in us and the people nearby, was this two women who probably only knew and appreciated a few of Ms. Jones' songs. They were talkative and loud about it, if they didn't know the song that was being sung, they talked yelling at one another, went to their smartphones to check on whatever it was that was more important than the show, and was just lacking in the event's etiquette. There was a lady in front of them that looked behind her a few times and I can tell by her face that she was clearly annoyed. Along came staff and nicely told the ladies to be more respectful to the other people. I give the staff thumbs up for this because the two could have been escorted out without warning. I noticed that there were no restrooms nearby. The closest ones are in the lobby. It'd be too far for less mobile people. The restrooms were immaculately clean. I liked the overall experience and I believe that if there's another performer we'd like to see, we wouldn't hesitate to be there.

Then after the concert hungout at the casino for a lil bit played slot machines and at blackjack table. Until the next concert.
