My partner ordered a burger that came with a hair it. The nice server promptly removed it and brought back a fresh one in 6 minutes. The burger was not comped nor was any offer of a free dessert, starter or drink offered. My friend ordered mussels and over half of them were either closed (aka not fresh) or empty. What a great little gem of a pub. i had never been there…read morebefore but i had a genuine friendly welcome from the rather attractive landlady called Vanessa [i blushed] It has a great cosy feel to the pub and the food and drink [they do a tapas menu] were great. Despite geting ready for a music evening the staff still found time to be friendly and the live band [a crazy jazz combo but good fun] turned a quiet night out into quite something. i am new to deal but have found my local!

We ate in the pub where they accommodated us easily. The waitress was competent and friendly. Paying separately was no problem. We tried a number of dishes from the more British portion of the menu - lamb, chicken, etc - with uniformly good results at a reasonable price. Being from Texas, I was not brave enough to try anything from the entire page of Mexican fare but a Chicken Supreme in Leek and Bacon Cream Sauce with fried potatoes and veggies was great. They have abut 8 local and Italian (?) beers on tap with a good choice for anyone. If I am back in the area, I will definitely try it again.
