My partner ordered a burger that came with a hair it. The nice server promptly removed it and brought back a fresh one in 6 minutes. The burger was not comped nor was any offer of a free dessert, starter or drink offered. My friend ordered mussels and over half of them were either closed (aka not fresh) or empty. Really bad food. 2 stars are for the view.

I felt very welcome there - it's an informal dining experience in the restaurant cum cookery school. I half wondered whether I would be asked to make my own food! What a great little gem of a pub. i had never been there…read morebefore but i had a genuine friendly welcome from the rather attractive landlady called Vanessa [i blushed] It has a great cosy feel to the pub and the food and drink [they do a tapas menu] were great. Despite geting ready for a music evening the staff still found time to be friendly and the live band [a crazy jazz combo but good fun] turned a quiet night out into quite something. i am new to deal but have found my local!

We tried a number of dishes from the more British portion of the menu - lamb, chicken, etc - with uniformly good results at a reasonable price. Being from Texas, I was not brave enough to try anything from the entire page of Mexican fare but a Chicken Supreme in Leek and Bacon Cream Sauce with fried potatoes and veggies was great. They have abut 8 local and Italian (?) beers on tap with a good choice for anyone. If I am back in the area, I will definitely try it again.
