We were looking for a breakfast spot before heading to the Jameson Distillery for our 11:30 AM tour. We originally wanted to check out this other breakfast spot around the corner, but it was full. The guy at that breakfast spot recommended the Liffey Saint. We didn't have much time before the tour, and it was starting to rain harder, so that's how we landed here. It was a Saturday at around 10:45, and there weren't too many people there except for maybe two couples, and a group who looked like they were on a guys' trip. It seemed more like a random pub that you stop in for a drink, and not necessarily to sit down at breakfast, but they did have a breakfast menu - and a pretty cheap one at that. My husband and I each ordered the Value Irish Breakfast for €10. It comes with 2 sausages, bacon, fried egg, black and white pudding, hash brown, beans, and toast. It's what you'd expect. Greasy and filling and for this price? You really can't complain. Their regular menu items sounded good and were also reasonably priced. We also had a pint of Guinness and an Irish coffee to start the day because when in Ireland, am I right?
I think if this was closer to our hotel, we probably would have come back for lunch or dinner. Sad we didn't get to try our original breakfast spot but happy to have discovered the Liffey Saint. read more
