Legacy Home Inspection is the best home inspection service in town. I have used several of the guys in town that do inspections and Legacy was by far the best experience I had. I needed my home inspected ASAP and Legacy was able to come over within two hours!! While I don't expect that to be the case every time, the fact that Bretton (the owner) was able to drop was he was doing and come over immediately was a huge help. On top of that, their rates are competitive and they are very professional. If you are looking for someone to come inspect your house, write an honest and high quality report, these are your guys, no doubt about it. read more

I have utilized The Legacy Inspection Group as a broker representing buyers and just recently as a home buyer myself. I have held my AZ Brokers license since 1985. While the home inspection industry has improved dramatically since the "old days" I found Bretton Austin at Legacy Inspection Group to be at the top of the heap! His inspections are thorough and professionally presented. My clients and I have saved thousands of dollars based on the reports he has prepared. Legacy is my go to home inspection service provider! read more

Bretton, is a true professional. I normally do not write reviews but I felt that wanted to share my positive experience. Bretton was very detailed and gave me a real sense of comfort knowing that he was looking at this house like if it was his own. I had him come back for to look at the repairs and he did, I tried to pay him and he would not accept, just a really good guy. I would highly recommend him. read more

Spoke with Bretton, he was really helpful and gave me a lot of good advice on how to navigate my inspection. Unfortunately my property is not ready for an inspection but when it is I'm definitely calling Bretton again. I highly recommend Bretton for all your inspection needs read more

Bretton and Shawn responded quickly to come by and look at our house foundation. They gave us a solution to the floor squeaking problem and also put on a "bunny" suit to go under the house to make sure there was not something else going on. They are professionals and I would recommend them. C. Phillips read more

As a Realtor I often help my clients who are trying to find a great home inspector. Not all home inspectors are the same not by a long shot. Anytime my clients chose Legacy I know they are going to get a great, detailed home inspection. Bretton will always provide further details on items in question. I am usually on a very tight schedule and they seem to always be able to fit me into their busy schedule. For someone that has used every single home inspector in town these are the people that I would chose to perform an inspection on my own home. read more

"Bretton's inspection report was very thorough. He has a couple of unusual procedures; he prefers to not have the client on property when doing his inspection so he can focus on every detail of each system. And he uses a sensor that identifies temperature differentials to get a deeper picture of any activity that is not visible on the surface. His physical report is not only thorough, documented w photos but it's the first time in the many home inspections I've ordered that is a guidebook education on all the systems & regulations that are essential to each area of the home building process and the inspection report. We had two inspections done throughout the home buying process, one that convinced us not to buy a home due to the extensive repairs needed. The works are super helpful and detailed in their reports and we thought their prices were very reasonable. Thanks! read more

Quick excellent service! What a thorough job. Well done. This new home owner is secure in this new purchase transaction. Thank you for the details and explanations on the report. read more

Legacy's Bretton Austin Inspected our home in December of 2019 at the request of the buyer of our home. Our home past inspection, but the inspection caused us some problems. Mr. Austin turned up our gas water heater to extreme hot to inspect it. Which is fine, but the setting was not turned back to our original setting. The high heat caused our gas valve sensor to crack, pics attached. We have called Legacy and left numerous voice mails with no response. I just wanted to be reimbursed the $160 it cost me for the replacement valve, not the labor involved. We are very disappointed with this company, they will not admit to a problem they caused. read more

Legacy Home Inspection did a great job and I would highly recommend them. I found them to be a competitively priced. The report had a quick turn-around with quality photos and detailed explanations. I like that Britton started his career in the construction trade as a contractor, to me that experience is a valuable asset in a home inspector. I would also add I had a follow up question and the response was within hours, quality product and great service! read more

I loved working with Bretton! He was super professional and also fun. I highly recommend him if you want someone who is both competent and cool! read more

This was by far the best Home Inspection Service I have ever had. Bretton is extremely educated, qualified, and professional. You can tell he takes great pride in his work and also really cares about the investment you are going to make when buying a home. The extra time he took to explain everything in the report and also provided thorough diagrams and information was so helpful. I would recommend any home buyer use him and never look elsewhere, HE IS THE BEST in the business. read more

We had a home inspection a couple years ago and recently found out that our heater was not up to code. The heater was leaking Carbon into the house and the fire department was called as out Fire and Carbon Monxide detactors were going off. They found several code violations that included no Gas Shutoff outside the Heater or no Main shut off for the heater to the 2 major issues. These should of been pointed out during the inspection by the Inspector from Legacy. If you decided to hire them I would have a plumber come out and check out your heater and air condtioning units as this is not their expertise. You would think he would be versed in City and State building codes. read more

We almost skipped having an inspection of the condo we were buying in Flagstaff because we knew we were going to do a lot of renovations. So, if a bathroom faucet leaked, we didn't care since it would be replaced, etc. Instead, we hired Bretton Austin and Legacy Home Inspections and Appraisals to do a full review, and we are really glad we did. Bretton found lots of very important things that we needed to know about, even if we were going to do renovations. Bretton's review was very comprehensive and full of useful information. We were able to be with him when he did the inspection, and he was very willing to explain everything he was seeing and give us lots of good advice. Also, we were amazed at how fast he produced his lengthy and detailed report, full of photos and explanations. We got it the very next day, which is important because the standard AZ real estate contract only gives you 10 days to do your inspection. HINT - in areas like Flagstaff where inspectors are really busy, try to negotiate more time for the inspection. Anyway, back to Bretton, all we can say is that he did a great job for us and we are very happy we hired him. We recommend him highly and when you need a home inspection, he is the right guy for the job. read more

From my initial call to receipt of the home inspection report, Bretton Austin, Owner/Operator of Legacy Home Inspection & Appraisal, was professional, friendly and very pleasant to deal with. He took his time during the inspection, was thorough, knowledgeable and spent time explaining his findings after completing his inspection. Within a couple days he sent the report as an attachment to an email message. When I had additional questions in the weeks after his inspection, he always returned calls or answered immediately when he could. The report is clear, concise, and the quality type of reporting you expect of an inspection professional. I wholeheartedly recommend Bretton to anyone who wants an excellent inspector who makes what could be a nerve wrecking ordeal a more relaxed process. Additionally, he serves a large section of the northern area of Arizona. read more

I can't recommend Legacy Home Inspection highly enough. We hired them to inspect the home that we ultimately purchased. They saved us a lot of time and money by pointing out areas of concern. I've had a half dozen inspections done in the past and have never had such a thorough and comprehensive evaluation as I had with this outfit. They were expeditious, on time and highly professional. Thanks for your help, Bretton. read more

We are absolutely thrilled with the service and product provided by Legacy Home Inspections and Bretton. Bretton was courteous and professional, working with us on the time and date of our home inspection. He answered every question before and after the inspection including about 45 minutes of further detail after we received his comprehensive report (the next day). He is clearly on your side, pointing out any safety concerns and providing insight on the 'whys'. Bretton is very familiar with the Flagstaff area geography and unique aspects and build history for many of the developments. We will recommend Legacy Home Inspections to anyone in Northern Arizona. read more

Legacy Home Inspections took a look at our house before we bought it. Bretton did a great job and was extremely knowledgeable about home repair. He was also more than willing to share his knowledge which I really appreciated, as we are hoping to tackle many of the projects ourselves. He also took his time after the inspection to explain everything I had questions about. A previous prospective buyer had also done an inspection on the same house, so we were able to compare the job Bretton did to another inspector, and he found all of the exact same items, which was reassuring. read more
