Housing practices are deceptive. They market and advertise as student housing and bolster compatibility using RoomSync but are randomly placing non-student adults with students. They are not upfront about this and has caused a lot of stress for families. This is causing mental stress and anxiety for students whose apartment was vandalized and lives there through the shooting and killing of a student resident in December 2025. Truly unethical practice and would not recommend for anyone residency. read more

Initially this was the perfect place for my daughter. It felt safe. It was new. Great amenities. The environment was conducive to a positive student experience. We selected roommates from the ROOMSYNC app and matched well with students who had similar schedules and lifestyles. It was perfect! Fast forward to this week after 2 years of residency, the leasing office places a significantly older non-student resident in the unit with my daughter & 2 other student roommates. There was no introduction, nor consideration of compatibility. When we contacted the leasing office asking them to place the person in a more suitable unit with her peers, they advised this person met financial eligibility and that compatibility is not always possible. My daughter does not feel safe as this person has started bringing much older men (well into their 40's and 50's) into the unit. Thursday night my daughter was up most of the night due to the loud sexual encounter this person was having. My daughter expressed concern that this individual is taking liberties with personal items that belongs to her and is asking for things like trash bags, toiletries and expecting them to vacate the common area when she brings male friends into the space. The leasing office said they were following all fair housing guidelines & that roommate disputes should be remedied by the roommates. The leasing office also said this person is allowed visitors and my daughter is welcome to report suspected violations. This person is 35 years old and lives a very different lifestyle from students who range in age between 19-21. My daughter no longer feels safe as there's a great imbalance in this situation. This isn't reasonable or responsible behavior on behalf of the property. Rather than using common sense to avoid problems, they're telling my daughter to basically wait until something happens and then come to them. We were told if my student didn't like the arrangements she has 2 options 1) pay her lease out or 2) sublet the unit through lease term that would only be approved once the individual meets eligibility. Additionally, she would have to pay a $500 early termination fee. Essentially, they're placing the burden on her to resolve an issue she didn't create. One they have the authority to resolve. This place is marketed toward the student community as premier student housing. If they plan to place students with non-students they need to be transparent about it and advertise as a mixed community. They need to explain that students are subject to living with non-students regardless of compatibility. I can't imagine any of them agreeing to their college age kids living with non students twice their senior. After the shooting took place on the premises, several assaults, and vandalism of my kid's unit we decided not to renew the lease. I'm so glad we did. Otherwise, my kid would be subject to this situation through next school term. As evidenced by this situation, theres no real concern for student safety or compatibility, though students are their target audience. The bottom line is money. I would not recommend housing your student here. They are rude, unprofessional, deceptive in their housing practices and hidden fees. The building is unsafe, unsecured and reeks of marijuana. Terrible apartment complex! Management, maintenance, and staff are not helpful in any situation. Throughout the past 10 months of my lease, not once was I helped in a kind, efficient, or professional manner. Management has been out of the office for weeks, so there is absolutely no help with any issues at the moment. I have sent a lease termination email twice and have yet to hear back due to management being on a 3-week leave. The fire alarm goes off almost every night, and management has done nothing but blame it on residents. You'll never know if it's a false alarm or not. Maintenance is extremely inconsistent. They will say they stopped by your apartment and completed the request, when in reality, they never came by. I have told maintenance multiple times that I have a pet in my room, and every single time, they still left my door open or locked my cat out. I had an incident with my key fob once, and the front desk employee did nothing but laugh in my face. He's repeatedly been a rude employee throughout my entire stay at The Legacy. They hold your mail. If you are an out-of-state student and vote by mail, do not rent here. My partner and I had our mail held by staff during the election because the workers didn't want to give out mail daily. We almost didn't get to vote and had to beg them to go through their mail bin, which had mail over three days old still waiting to be distributed. read more

I have never had the confidence to speak up about certain things, nor have I ever written a review for anything, but this is quite literally the worst place to live. It has made me feel so unsafe to even go to what should be my "home." I cannot walk in this building (where I LIVE) without having extreme panic/anxiety. It is embarrassing, disgusting, and uncomfortable to say the least. I wish more than anything to get out of my lease & stop anyone who thinks that living here would be a decent option. If I could, I would give it 0 stars. Please do NOT make the same mistake I did, and sign a lease at this horrible complex. Everything about this complex is horrible, and I mean everything. You name it, it is awful. To think this building is only TWO years old, and it's already as awful as it is, is incredibly disappointing. Please look somewhere else and do not feed your money to this awful place. All of the "good reviews" on Google are fake. I have experienced firsthand them begging us to write a good review or rewarding people to write good reviews. Imagine that. I am disgusted and extremely disappointed to be living here, as it is one of, if not the worst, place I've ever lived in ATL. The elevators are constantly broken (I have been stuck in one 22 floors up before), and as a high-rise building that is supposed to have 4 working elevators, that is DISGUSTING. Mind you, it was move-in weekend, and school is starting, so residents have places to be. Their elevator inspections have expired in May... It is August. The staff are rude and passive-aggressive, and will not help you unless they can do it from their chairs & at a computer. The AC does not work throughout the building unless it is your actual unit, which has even failed in my unit before. The floors literally buckled and broke on multiple floors because of how humid and muggy it is in the hallways. I've complained many times about the issues in this building, and nothing ever gets fixed. Everything they advertise on their socials is fake, while half of their amenities aren't even open/working. Maintenance will say they completed something if you put in a work order, but nothing is even touched. Every new resident I come across who has moved in here last week has complained to me about how awful this place is. If you are looking for a decent place to move for college or in general, this is not the place. Please take that from someone who has lived here since the building opened. I do not recommended you lease from The Legacy at Centennial as I have had onging issues with lease payment postings since my son leased from them. At one point they were charging me fees because they had not checked their mailbox in weeks and my check was just sitting there. I was even charged an extra $8.95 fee to build my already great credit. Charging tenants extra fees without them being made aware of it, is not a way to get good residents but is a way to take advantage of people and forfeit the supposedly move in specials that you promote. legacy at centennial is an embarrassment to what an apartment should be. every night, constant false fire alarms that take 10+ minutes to resolve, management that doesn't resolve issues and pushes them last second, bills ranging from $100-$200 different from last months and overall just such a horrible experience. i regret ever signing a lease here, only issues and nothing to look forward to. please save yourself a headache and do not rent here!!! read more

As others have indicated, Legacy is literally THE WORST apartment management organization I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I wish I could give negative stars. I also have had ongoing issues since my son leased from them in 2023. They strongly dislike, bully, and intimidate their residents with all sorts of email threats, random mandatory charges that can only be paid via MoneyGram or cashier's check, refusal to allow entry for move-in when rent is paid in full, I can go on and on. We are out of there - but not without having fought a huge battle and having to play by their always changing rules. read more

My experience with Legacy at Centennial has been full of disappointments and surprises. While some employees have tried to fix some of these issues, I still encountered several unacceptable and borderline criminal situations while living here. While my girlfriend was stuck on an elevator in between floors for over an hour, I was in the lobby asking a certain unnamed desk clerk what they were doing about the situation. They assured me it was under control and that firefighters were called in order to retrieve my girlfriend and another resident in the stranded elevator. This would have been fine, except that the desk clerk lied to my face about calling the fire department. The desk clerk instead called a "no rush" maintenance request, which resulted in the elevator being stuck for over 2 hours. Not calling the fire department was purely a business decision because after requiring firefighters to open the stuck doors, Legacy would most likely have fines to pay. The emergency call button inside this particular elevator was not working correctly, so the stranded could not hear the person on the other end of the call. According to multiple law websites and previous lawsuits, the apartment building could be sued for negligence and most likely found at fault for the elevator issues. Claiming these elevators are up to code would be a lie, as, during 2023-2024, at least one elevator was consistently out of order due to "scheduled maintenance." I am genuinely surprised that no one was killed by one of these elevators. Not being a lawyer, or maybe not having the patience to read through the lease's fine print, which was a mistake, all residents seemed to have missed the part that mentioned utilities were an absolute atrocity. Paying $1,326.00 a month, then an additional $60-$200 for water, electricity, and sewage, is an absolute scam. The units are nice, but paying that much for Atlanta quality water shows how much of a transaction this place can be. Here is an excerpt from the lease, executed to the fullest extent of the ink, "38) Amenities. Resident acknowledges and agrees that Landlord has no obligation to provide any Amenities, and Landlord may temporarily or permanently remove any of the Amenities at any time without providing notice to Resident. Resident acknowledges that Amenities with mechanical components can be rendered inoperable at any time, and Landlord shall have no obligation to repair or replace any of the Amenities. In no event shall Resident be entitled to withhold Monthly Installments, to a reduction in any Monthly Installment, or to terminate this Contract by reason of malfunction, suspension, or removal of any of the Amenities." During my stay at the Legacy, the common areas were trashed with no sign of effort to clean or fix. The gym had no wipes while the equipment was falling apart. The game room had broken pool cues, missing balls, and was dirty. The pool was closed due to a resident and was not reopened for several months as punishment for the building. Missing mail was regular, as the mail room was dysfunctional and open to the public. The front door of the apartment building was broken and inoperable, requiring entrance from a side door. The garage doors are always open, allowing fresh air and random people to enter anytime. The safety of this apartment complex is nonexistent, as there were multiple armed break-ins to units that the facility failed ever to mention. Anyone can enter the building, go up to any floor via the stairs, and open any unlocked door. I can almost guarantee that the building will not report any accounts of robbery or break-ins, as this will damage its image at the cost of the safety and trust of its residents. Overall, there are much better options, and the Legacy at Centennial should not be on your list. read more
