1 other couple here Saturday 11am. Lots of free parking right infront of the store. Lots of unique baked goods here and the loaves of bread are also unique flavors. Breakfast to-go took 15min to make. You need to ask for utensils. Ham and egg wrap: 9/10 it was great! Bread used was so soft and great texture. Hashbrowns could have used to cook longer and needed more salt. Bacon and eggs Lefse House Style: I chose scrambled eggs and it was a unique presentation like a rolled omelette. Tasted fine but no real seasoning. Bacon was limp and small. Bread was 10/10 so tasty, jam included was great too. Dill pickle soup was 10/10, comes with your choice of bread. Boyfriend chose rye and gave it 10/10 but I didn't like as it had a very strong flavor. read more

I've been curious about this café since I heard of it. Camrose really isn't that far from Edmonton and yet I rarely have a reason to go there. Today we were in Camrose so we stopped in for lunch. The first thing we noticed is that the café has the ambiance of Ikea. That's good or not good depending on your preferences. It certainly has a clean feel to it and you can see into the bakery through some glass doors. On the menu everything seemed to be the same price at $17.50 in 2022. I ordered the Lefse Wrap with beef. It was okay. The Lefse itself was quite good but the beef wasn't anything special. Still, it's a nice size and seems to be popular. At first I thought it was expensive but then I discovered that each meal includes dessert. With the dessert included the price seems reasonable. It's not a dessert like pie or anything large like that but any baked goods under the front glass counter is included. I had the Lingonberry chocolate puffs and I got two served with cream. The presentation was beautiful and they were delicious. Service was first rate. The young lady was pleasant, cheerful and seemed to genuinely appreciate our business. Coffee came with refills. This is a destination café and makes for an enjoyable lunch. I recommend it. Oh and they sell lots of Swedish themed gifts from Swedish flags of all sizes to mittens. read more

Wow - this place was great! Three of us popped in for lunch one day. Nice little restaurant / gift shop / bakery / kitchen. Two of is had BLT sandwiches and I had a salad. Both meals were great. So fresh too. My companions each had a slice of Kringle. I had a lemon butter horn. Oh my - the butter horn was amazing! The butter horns are worth stopping for on their own. read more

Today, at Battle River Implements, we had Holly deliver a grand meal for the staff. It was amazing as always. She brought us a great selection of excellent food and the desserts were fantastic. If you are looking to bring a meal in for your staff or looking for somewhere to stop in and eat, The Lefse House is highly recommended. Thanks again Holly for the great lunch. read more

We three visited in early Sept. at 2 pm. Reception was fast and friendly. The restaurant only has about 6 tables but 2 were empty. Service was excellent. Full meals are about $18 and smaller portions about $13. There is a very good selection. We had a Reuben Sandwich, Swedish Meat Balls, and a half-meal Smoked Salmon plate along with 2 coffees and a soft drink. The meals included dessert along with coffee refills! Everything was absolutely great. (FYI the washroom was immaculate). We very highly recommend The Lefse House for a meal in Camrose. read more

If you're looking for something unique, affordable and delicious when travelling through Camrose, look no further! The Main Street of Camrose is home to a few greasy Asian restos and a bizarre grumpy soup and sandwich place, but just behind that is The Lefse House, an authentic Scandinavian Bakery which also serves lunch! This place is amazing! Both of us ordered The Lefse Dog, which is a locally made European wiener wrapped in a potato Lefse! So good! I also got a side of fresh rye bread with pickled herring, bc one cannot visit a Scandinavian resto without enjoying some sort of cured fish!! Service was friendly and fast and there is a lot of things to look at in the resto/store! GO NOW! read more

This is a great little place to take in some Danish/Norwegian culture. As a disclaimer it is a bit on the pricey side for the amount of food you get. However, unless you are these cultures I doubt you will be making this on your own. You can bring home baking as well as frozen products (ie meatballs) and you can browse their cute and interesting giftshop. Server was super friendly but a bit backlogged. She was the only one on the floor and on lunch on a Saturday the place was full. My family ordered three different things. I ordered the Lefse egg salad wrap with a side of homemade mushroom soup, my daughter ordered the bacon and tomato sandwich with a side of soup, my husband ordered the Ruben with a side of lefse chips. All were tasty. However, I found my egg salad a little to runny for the wrap. The lefse bread itself was amazing but could not handle the liquid of the egg salad....and what was different that I didn't enjoy was the addition of relish in the egg salad. I found this made the wrap too sweet. However, perhaps this is how it is eaten in those countries, and so probably is authentic. My husband was slightly disappointed at the size of his sandwich (smaller) but the corned beef and sauerkraut was fresh and tasty. My kid's sandwich was the real winner.... huge delicious thick bread. Soup was really tasty. With your meal you get a free sample of the dessert. Desserts were amazing. I had the lemon tart which was tasty and the rest of my party had the chocolate and lingonberry pastries which were amazing! I definitely will come back to try the other interesting offers, however for the price probably only a couple times a year. read more

I love supporting small businesses but, I was really disappointed, the taste of the lefse is ok but the thickness and packaging is horrible. Once you thaw it out and try to pull it apart its next to impossible to get a full piece without it tearing into small pieces. If you do manage to get a full piece it breaks apart when it's folded or rolled. I haven't tried anything else from this store but the frozen packaged lefse is a waste of money read more

Friendly small business that serves home style Scandinavian lunches and desserts. Not only do they make their own sandbakkles, krumkake, pault, lutefisk, and lefse, they offer the supplies you need to make your own. Their shop has Norwegian books, crafts, recipes and cooking materials. You can find rosette irons, pans to make poffertjes/ebelskivers, krumkake irons, lefse pans and molds for Kransekake. All you need to make desserts like a Norwegian grandma. read more
