Today we were in Camrose so we stopped in for lunch. The first thing we noticed is that the café has the ambiance of Ikea. That's good or not good depending on your preferences. It certainly has a clean feel to it and you can see into the bakery through some glass doors. On the menu everything seemed to be the same price at $17.50 in 2022. I ordered the Lefse Wrap with beef. It was okay. The Lefse itself was quite good but the beef wasn't anything special. Still, it's a nice size and seems to be popular. At first I thought it was expensive but then I discovered that each meal includes dessert. With the dessert included the price seems reasonable. It's not a dessert like pie or anything large like that but any baked goods under the front glass counter is included. I had the Lingonberry chocolate puffs and I got two served with cream. The presentation was beautiful and they were delicious. Service was first rate. The young lady was pleasant, cheerful and seemed to genuinely appreciate our business. Coffee came with refills. This is a destination café and makes for an enjoyable lunch. I recommend it. Oh and they sell lots of Swedish themed gifts from Swedish flags of all sizes to mittens.

Wish there was a few designated stalls for this bakery. Clean store. No dine-in. Lots of items were already sold out but they did still have a good selection. Cashier was very friendly. I tried the blueberry and apple butterscotch scones. Blueberry was 10/10. So moist, soft, and cake-like. Apple one was very bland, could not taste the apple or butterscotch. So happy prices and sign and legible and accurate. If I am ever back in the area I would love to try their Chia Sunflower Flax Sourdough bread and the Cheese bread!

Unfortunately when we went their bread slicer was down, but that didn't stop me from buying a few loaves! I got a loaf of the cheese bread and the cinnamon raisin bread. The cheese loaf was a little on the small side but it has a delightful amount of cheese. But the cinnamon raisin loaf is divine! So many raisins and very tasty- perfect morning, mid morning, afternoon, evening...okay okay I have it all day long it's that good! If you like raisins that is! We also tried a garlic stick for around $1 and it was surprisingly tender and VERY fresh! Not too garlicky for the kids, but we enjoyed it so much I should have bought more. Would have liked to have see a deal on these if you order a bunch. Pastries looked delightful as well so next time I may have to hit those up! Plenty of parking out front, but no bathroom or seating. I have ordered many custom cakes in the past and The Sweet Side definitely makes the most delicious cakes! They were able to match the picture I sent as reference perfectly! I was very happy with the cake! This year I ordered a cake for Mother's Day and another cake two weeks later for another birthday. Both cakes were beautiful!! And again the taste was excellent! The staff is so very friendly and make sure you know they really appreciate your business! i was supposed to order bread and treats from The Tasty Bakery on Saturday, as I was coming to Red Deer today from two hours away, but I forgot! I called the store this morning hoping there might be some treats available for me to put aside. The owner Don (such a nice guy) answered the phone and asked what I would like. I told him my order and he did say he didn't have all that I wanted but would do his best! Well, I got to the store just after noon and was grateful he had put aside what he had! I paid and set off for my two hour drive home. I got home and opened the bags and there was EXACTLY what I had ordered! I don't know if he found he had more than he thought or baked extra just for me but I was so surprised and pleased! I don't know why anyone would buy their baked goods anywhere else!
