If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. I paid this firm a retainer fee of $2,512 for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Near the END of my monthly payments, I was told I exceeded the $65k income limit & now I cannot file - something that was never screened or explained upfront. They're telling me money was "earned"and I won't get a refund. No bankruptcy was filed. I requested an accounting of fees and received no response in the timeframe promised (10 business days) I've filed a formal grievance and am still trying to resolve the matter. read more

This office is a "Scam." If you're going into this office due to an eviction letter. They are going to tell you that " they can stop the eviction process." They confidently said no problem and were so nice to me in person saying yes pay us the money and we will handle it all for you. I paid them in $2k in 2 days then bam once they got the money and my documents they then realized I made too much to even file for BK! What the hell! Then why do these consultations and not let you know there are guidelines or qualifications you have to meet first before you even file before taking your money. Bankruptcy is brutally stressful and the amount of documentation never ends. However, if you make the journey with someone you trust, you'll get through it. I really like Chris Lee. We were stranded outside for 30 minutes until are so called paralegal opened the door as she was running late. 30 minutes later, a complete hour of waiting after our scheduled appointment the attorney didn't show up. And in his replacement the paralegal was the one who decided to give us legal advice which was complete bullshit. I can't expect to do business with such a place that treat the customers as garbage. When I get to dallas I was told the other office don't know what they were talking about. Faith from Bedford had me on a payment plan. I came to this law firm to help me lower or dismiss some of my student loans. They charge $500 for an analysis which I had already provided all the information. They submitted a form to get my federal loans dismissed which I could have easily done myself. I have the few emails they corresponded to because I couldn't get anyone to let me know a status. Then I receive a letter they dismissed my case without giving a reason. I expected to at the least receive some type of status. My advice to everyone is to go to a local lawyer and complete the process. It will cost you the same amount and they will do a way better job than this firm will. This firm is a mill and they treat you as such. They treat you nice at the beginning to gain your confidence and trust. After they have your money they treat you like you are a burden to them. Eric Maskell was the attorney assigned to my case and he is an absolute ASS. One of the creditors that had already been notified that I had filed pulled money from my bank account knowing that they were not supposed to based on me filing for bankruptcy. As soon as I found out I let Eric know and he sent me a snippy email about there was nothing they could do unless I wanted to pay an additional $5,000 to address the matter. He sent me a very nasty email that was rude and very unprofessional. He did all of that just to turn around and do what I had paid them for and protect me from this creditor. I did eventually get my money back but after arguing with him over the matter. Then a few months went by and I had another issue with a creditor and he refused to help me with the issue. And don't count on Christopher Lee to hold his attorney accountable. I forwarded my emails and concerns to him and never got a single response. Heed my warning and do not use this company. After all that is what they are. They are not a firm that I would recommend even to an enemy. So I wasted 30 minutes of my time sitting in the lobby, and still no results highly recommend looking for some one else to go to some other attorneys that may have a little bit of professionalism and morals and ethics. The reason for this review and gave them only a one star rating is because of being lied to and told that we could do do a modification after being in our chapter 13 bankruptcy for 2 years even though it was going to end in 2020. We filed back in 2015 even though this made our second bankruptcy that we filed since 2009. We dealt with them before and had great experiences with them until now. Back in June 2018, since the car we had was in our bankruptcy and had been involved in a car accident and was totalled and since then we purchased another car after we had to come up with $400 to file a motion to incur debt. We were taken to the glass partition behind the secretary desk and a tall blonde lady came in and told us she had some good news. We were like ok, what is the good news. She went on and told us that we can get out of our bankruptcy by paying $400 and filing a modification and we will be done. No more payments, creditors will be taken care of, including our trustee. We asked are you sure because we knew that we were behind a payment to our trustee thanks to my husbands employer whom took it upon themselves to dismiss the wage garnishment of our trustee and put the student loan wage garnishment into effect that our attorneys said they could not do but they did. That was another reason for our visit in June 2018 as well as our options since we were having financial issues in which we still are since they keep wanting more and more money even though we were told we didn't have to come up with anymore money that once we paid the $400 to file the motion for the modification we were done and no more payments. We kept asking over and over again are you sure what will happen to the payments that we still owe trustee and told us again nothing to worry about you won't owe anything including payments to trustee and creditors are taken care of and will be dropped. In July 2018, called our trustee to make sure we are good and no payments since we were filing a modification and was informed no we were good and still nothing to pay on our part. See a $0 balance. I called several times in July just to make sure we were still good and was told over and over again still see nothing showing on our part since by this time we were 2 payments behind about to come up to being 3 payments behind. Then in August we get a letter stating that we had a court date and our trustee must be paid before the date of court which was scheduled for August 18, 2018 at 10am. Called trustee office back up and told us we had to come up with $1,200 before the court date and said how do you expect us to come up with that when we were told over and over again we did not owe anything when I kept calling you guys in July and our attorney told us we didn't owe anything else as well. Told her sorry that we could not come up with that by August 18. Called lee law firm, asked me to email our attorney, Yvonne, in which we did and said, yes we had to pay the $1,200. We argued the case from the June 2018 when we were there even though she was not present at the time but she was in the office, and Sharon even remembered the conversation that took place between us and he tall blonde attorney as well, and could not really figure out what is going on either. Then back in August we get another letter stating there is going to be a wage garnishment that is going to take effect in September for $564 starting on next pay period with your employer. My husbands check was going to be very short and knew we were not going to have any money to pay our bills since he had to take off several days for foot and leg surgery. We even called our trustee to ask about the wage garnishment and told us you owe the money before the modification can go through and cannot dismiss the garnishment. Called our attorney yet again, told me to email her, in which we did that again, and told her how she and others lied to us that you said we would not owe anything that $400 is all we had to come up with to end our case and file the modification and still to this day we owe our trustee. They took half the payment owed from my husbands work check but still they say we owe $564 and need it by October 18. We should not have to pay it since we were told back in June 2018 that we would be done with our case by paying the $400 for the modification and here we still are owing the money. Every time we contact our attorney, Yvonne, we tell her how much they lied to us and she keeps saying no they have not. The $564 is not much to squabble over but after what was told to us and then go back on their word is just down right awful. And now a couple of days ago before finding out that we have until October 18 to come up with the $564 my husbands employer has been bought out and will be switching companies, and most of the employees may or may not have a job by the 19th of October. So, had to email our attorney, Yvonne, again to let her know about that and there will be no way we can pay it. read more

I used Lee Law Firm to file for Bankruptcy and to do a loan modification. They filed for the bankruptcy but left everything on my credit and tried to have me pay them more money to clean my credit. When it came to the Loan Modification, I paid them the required fee. The attorney I worked with took the payment and gave me a receipt. They fired her and said my receipt wasn't valid. I talked with Mr. Lee and he assured me that everything was taken care of and they were working on my modification, only to find out that they never even talked with my bank. After getting into a heated argument via email, one of the atterneys' told me that they never filed for the loan modification because they didn't receive payment. I will never recommend anyone to this company. Now my family and I are trying to rebuild our credit and by a new home. Please don't waste your time with this company. I hired Lee Law Firm in for debt consolidation/reduction. I paid them a large amount of money to get my debts resolved and trusted that they would do what they promised, but all they did was take my money and forget about me. They only time they communicated with me is when I demanded status and quick resolution, but all I got was "we're working on it." After 18 months of being left in the dark, I had to settle the debts myself. In worse shape than when I hired them and out several thousand dollars that they are refusing to refund. Filed my Chapter 13 with Lee Law Firm in 2010. Paid them $2,765 for 15 minutes of time with the actual attorney. Now I'm 4 months away from completing my Chapter 13 payments and nearing the end of my 5 year repayment term. I was told in the 341 meeting that is mandatory to attend prior to filing Chapter 13, that there was a possibility that my term could end early if all debt was paid off before the 5 years was up. Per the Trustee's website, my secured debt balance is $302. I tried calling and emailing the Trustee's office and Lee Law Firm. It took me 3 weeks and numerous emails and phone calls to get anyone to answer my questions regarding an early discharge. In addition, per the Chapter 13 contract, the Trustee's percent is 6%; however, the Trustee's office has been charging me 9% for almost 5 years. Bottom line here is that once you have your initial consultation and filing with Lee Law Firm, then they forget about you. They have your money and are no longer interested in helping you to the end of your Chapter 13 term. It is next to impossible to get anyone at their office to respond to you after they have taken your money for their services. In the beginning they show compassion for your financial situation, but after they have you hooked and signed up, and have taken your money, then they treat you like the plague, like a criminal. Although I've kept my word and worked hard for almost 5 years to repay my debts, Lee Law Firm and the Trustee's office have shown me absolutely NO RESPECT! read more
