They provide breakfast and lunch daily, weekly trips (which my son loves!), there are weekly special activities on site and they do water play and go to local playgrounds. The Italian Charities of America's mission: A human services organization providing services, activities and programs for the benefit of the community. A friend of mine told me she rents a table for the flea market and has been asking me to stop by. For a $25.00 fee, they peddle their wares -- forty to fifty tables full of new and used unique goods, lit by a stunningly beautiful chandelier adorned by four smaller satellite illuminators. The second floor room is beautiful! Classic Italian stately design, form meets function, with thick framed paintings of our pioneering people past, adorning the marble walls with golden sconce highlights. Handbags, leathers, costume jewelry clothing and household items may appeal more to the female persuasion, guys, y'all gotta go check it out anyway -- with your ladies, your buddies or alone, if your single and in the market, you might meet a nice Italian girl. She and her family are Barese, my family being Genoa -- we kick butt in ship building and stuffed ravioli. Thankfully Marie and her committee are hard at work creating new events, so check the website for details -- I know I'll be in attendance for their next Pasta Dinner Evening, maybe I'll see you there.

The building has crystal chandeliers, Italian tchotchkes in glass cases, some articles and other bits of history. There's an elevator to the upstairs banquet hall if you can't use the small staircase, and this was where the flea market was. It mainly seemed to be people selling things they no longer wanted, costume jewelry, books, glassware, clothes - one lady did manage to find a stunning fur coat. They apparently hold Saturday night dances, I saw a flyer for one advertising Latin & Italian oldies, classics, and Top 40 from 8pm-12am with food, coffee, tea, dessert, and alcohol. I would love to see the crowd that comes out for that! This is a community center, so you can rent space or give money to various fundraisers they hold, all in all it's a great local resource.

The issue here is when I inquired with my friend about that price considering what was provided, I couldn't believe how overpriced this place is. They charge for adults attending the party even though they just have to be there to watch their kids. Basically once you go over 25 l, she was charged a fee although the adults weren't really getting anything extra (except a pizza pie) which was absolutely ridiculous. What made this event worth it was the fact that my friend brought in all her stuff such a cupcakes, coffee and other goodies. Otherwise be prepared to pay over $700 for 2 pies, regular decor and a craft which is a bucket of beads thrown on a table with a string! The play area is also tiny and so not worth it!

A friend recommended Bayside Bundles of Joy and after meeting with Leidy and having a play date (where you can bring your little one for a few hours to see if it's a good fit), we decided to enroll him there. Leidy and Fatima are amazing; they treat each child like one of their own. My son grew an attachment to both of them that even after he moved on to a regular school setting, he still asks for them. They speak English and Spanish, giving a bi lingual aspect for the children. They have an app for phones where you get updates on how your child's day is going, what they are eating, pics of the day and times of when everything is happening. If anything were to happen (our son not feeling well, possible incidents with other kids), Leidy was prompt in contacting us to let us know. She was open in scheduling times to meet whenever we wanted time for face to face updates and to talk about our son's progress. They make their food fresh daily for the kids (breakfast and lunch). They would do different activities like kiddy work out, planting, sprinklers in nice weather, to mix things up and give the children different experiences. During the summer program, older children get to attend trips outside of the day care. Looking for good home based child care in the area? Try them out and you'll see what I am talking about!

I visited what felt like every daycare in Queens. Ones that were highly recommended by friends, or on Yelp. I couldn't find one place I would even consider, and I didn't think I would ever find a place I would be comfortable leaving my son. Then I met Leidy, she is the warmest, most caring person I have ever met. Immediately you can feel how much all the women who work here care for the children. They soothe my son when he is tired, cranky, or sad. They serve home-cooked meals for breakfast and lunch (snacks are also included). This daycare is bright, clean, and inviting. They are extremely hygienic, the staff and children wash their hands several times a day. Every surface that can be sanitized is, on a daily basis. There is an app you can download and they update you all day long on every detail of your child's day. It's amazing. They celebrate all of the major holidays, as well as the children's birthdays. They have a private backyard, weather permitting, the children go out every day. BBB has really become a home away from home for my son, I trust them implicitly. So much so, that now my youngest is also attending. I could go on and on, heaping praise on BBB, but I dont't want to be TOO long winded :-) In summation, I am a picky control freak, and this place makes me so happy. More importantly - my son has been going here for more than a year now, and he absolutely loves it at BBB.
