They feed the children fruit for lunch that has been molded, just rinsed off and then served. They only serve unhealthy options for snack which is served twice a day (chips, cookies, crackers). The owner doesn't even allow her child to eat the food that is served there. They do awesome art projects and follow lesson plans, but don't always follow medication instructions. Directors have been over a half hour late to scheduled medicine times to distribute the medicine to the child. The parents are forced to pay for days when the center is closed (holiday's and cleaning days). Some of those days the employees are forced to not work. Therefore it is a complete profit day for the center. Examples include: The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve. On these days the center is closed, the parents still pay, but the employees don't receive any pay. Some of their teachers are awesome! But there never seems to be a director around to talk to the parents...there's always a wait time when someone is trying to locate a director in the building. If they paid their staff better they would have a full staff of awesome teachers. They are not paid what they deserve for how hard those teachers work everyday. We can't thank them enough. In Infant B, Ms. Crystal, Ms. Joel, and Ms. Lourden were equally amazing. They just care deeply about all the kids in their classroom, and it shows through in so many ways; from constantly getting down on the floor to play with the little ones, to taking TLE's fun-themed "spirit weeks" very seriously, to being generally just fun and silly with their kiddos, and putting insane levels of effort into arts and crafts, you can tell that this is not just a job for Crystal, Joel, and Lourden. Finally, the front desk and support staff, as well as the floaters and part-time employees are just plain lovely as well. We were able to book CAPEC months in advance, which gave us the peace of mind to book the trip knowing that we had reliable child care in place for the night of the wedding. The reservation process was smooth and easy. I spoke to Ebony by phone and she explained her services and confirmed that she could accommodate the size of our group. Once we decided to book CAPEC, we received a link to fill out all the necessary information online (i.e. allergy information and emergency contacts for each child). We then received a written agreement laying out all the terms and information we needed to plan ahead. Given that we had a large group of six kids, Ebony brought a second staff member, Yolaunda. The two of them came very well prepared with plenty of toys and activities for the kids to play with. As soon as they arrived at the hotel they had the kids engaged with bubbles, balloons, and musical instruments. They also did a great job of comforting/distracting the kids so that the parents could slip out without causing a meltdown. Throughout the evening Ebony texted us updates and pictures of the kids playing and enjoying themselves, which was very reassuring and put our minds at ease so we could enjoy the wedding festivities. When we got back to the hotel at midnight all of the kids were fast asleep. The next morning the kids told us how much fun they had with Ebony and Yolaunda, which is really the best feedback you can get. Thank you Ebony, Yolaunda and Children At Play Event Childcare!
