One employee shared with me that her paycheck was always short. The owner goes around telling employees and parents that she fired one of the employees which is a complete lack of professional ethics. When you go in, you're introduced to the director Kim. However, according to the state she is not the director. After some digging it appears they lie and the director is never even at the center. The teachers aren't paying attention to the children correctly, it seems there's too many kids in one room. Food is being placed on changing areas which is completely dirty and disgusting and against Health codes. The claim that all teachers have Associates is a complete lie, in fact it appears no one has an associates degree. The office is a separate building, and is in complete disrepair with what looks like mold growing up the walls. Several pictures that have been shared for this business aren't even at this daycare, I don't know where they are from. Stay far far away, the place will probably be closing soon anyway due to mismanagement. As of this posting the state has the licencing under termination as of March after a failed inspection. Update: this is the message I received from the owner. I think I've proved myself, she calls me by another name and accuses me of being a disgruntled parent by other initials. I assure you I am not that person but proves that parents aren't happy. Hi Barbara, Peace and blessings to you and your family. Hope all is well. Now that the formalities is out of the way let's jump write down to Business and address the untrue and defamation to my character and morales. I'm puzzled as to we're your getting your information Bonnie I was not Open in March. My Business opened on 10/2/17 2 of my teachers have Bachelors Degrees and the others have Associates Degrees. All of your information is incorrect.... I know this a disgruntled parent KG!!!! I will not give this anymore attention but I will produce camera footage next... My teachers actually have Bachelors Degrees and I will post them for all to see. Yes I have terminated employees being a new Center if a person is not a good fit they will be terminated.... God bless you and your family

However, I am disappointed in the overall experience we had with my son. From the get go, we told the director he had a few developmental delays , one of which was late to potty train. He was three when he started, and there were at least two classes for kids his age. We were assured he would be placed with kids of similar needs. I learned a few weeks in that this was not the case, as one of his afternoon teachers made a comment about how "everyone else in his class is trained". Once we had begun the process of training with him a few months later, both at home and with the support of his public preschool teacher and IEP, he had frequent accidents at Under the Sun. The Director questioned whether the preschool teacher was lying to me about whether he was going on the toilet at school. Then I was told by the Director that my son had to be put in pull ups instead of the underwear that we were working so hard to get him used to because "there are too many other children in his class and to clean him up takes one of the teachers away from all the other kids." Again, didn't think he would be the only one In this situation! Finally, when the training was taking a longer time than optimal, the Director asked me if I was sure if speech was the only problem he had been diagnosed with. As a parent, one can imagine how this broke my heart. My son Is quiet and shy when he first meets new people, I get it. However I was repeatedly told by the afternoon care team that he doesn't speak and they "are really frustrated." Yet, when we put him on a different summer program at a nearby facility, he is a different kid. He is bubbly, talks constantly to everyone, including the teachers, and is overall just so much happier. I was quite disappointed at the fact that it did not seem like the morning and afternoon teachers did not communicate with each other. When I would pick him up in the afternoon, that staff would not know what my husband had brought in or discussed with the morning staff. This was frustrating. I was not present during the day to fully take in his entire experience, and I know he was fed, changed when soiled about 80% of the time, and safely put on and taken off the bus by UTS. However, these other experiences just put a very sour taste in my mouth and I was relieved to be able to take both kids out of this center at the end of the school year.

UPDATE THEYVE DELETED MY REVIEW SO IM POSTING AGAIN…read more My son has been in daycare since 2 years old, never with any issues besides when he first started of course. When we moved to NJ he went to school as well in swedesboro. When we moved to deptford and transferred him to tutor time. Within a month, Hr would cry every morning, begging and pleading not to go to school. " I don't like school" "please I don't wanna go" etc. My husband and I just put it off because we just thought he was a normal 3 year old that didn't like going to school. He then would act out when we got home, terrible attitude, crying, hitting, it was almost unbearable. We talked to someone at the center and they mentioned how he wouldn't nap. Of course I know my child and I figured that could be a factor but they immediately dismissed any other concern. Fast forward a couple of months of literally heartache before and after school, Dmy husband gets a TEXT from his assistant teacher, saying she's quitting and walking out and she cares so much about our that she's worried about his safety because our son was being mistreated and she thought we should know. My husband immediately went to the school and talked to her, apparently two teachers were caught being high while "teaching" have been caught hitting children, falls asleep while watching kids and that they would purposely send our son home with sh*t in his UNDERWEAR just to inconvenience My husband and I because we were one of the last ones to pick him up for the day. I noticed on the cameras that this one teacher was ALWAYs sitting on her phone or the tablet they had. When my husband confronted the director she blew him off and offered half off tuition. My heart literally broke because our son was trying to tell us the best he could but he didn't know how. He's been at the learning experience ever since and has since never gave any issues going to school like he did before.

We spoke to two of the teachers to make sure that they would be a match and they were fairly quite. Nothing that sent off any red flags so we started today. I dropped of my little one and went through some of the things that we brought with us along with how to work the reusable diapers that we are using. I asked if we could go inside to review because it was a lot that I just went over, but she said that they still weren't letting parents in still. I trusted them and went on my way. I finally got access to their webcams and was horrified to find my little one crying in the middle of the floor while teachers were gathered around chatting. After 5 minutes, they took care of my little one. Changed them and brought them into another room. I called then to make sure that everything was ok, and the Associate Director, Katie, said that they were taking my little one's temperature because they felt warm. I said that's normal since they were crying for about 5 mins without being tended to. Katie shrugged it off and we got off the phone. About 15 minutes, I see that my little one is in the class room again. I see them in one of the teachers arms and that teacher put my little one in the crib and I see that they are immediately crying and not ok. Another teacher goes over after a couple of minutes, picks them up and just puts them in the middle of the room and leaves the room all together. Does not ask any of the other teachers who are standing around chatting with each other to take care of my little one. I also see two other infants in baby bjorn's without being supervised all while this is happening. If you're looking for your child's basic needs to be met, if you're looking for community or interactions with other children and activities for them to be put in this is not your location. Our other daycare engaged with the children, read to them, played with them and yes there was an element of independence. My little one is able to preoccupy themselves once their basic needs are met. For example, their diapers changed, their fed, they're not cold, etc. Normal 9 month old things. None of these were met here. The diaper was not put on correctly, it was put on backwards and the liner was not even put in there. They coded on their app that they fed my LO, but there's no evidence of this at all. When I grabbed my LO, I met with the teacher and Katie. The teacher apologized and tried to justify what I saw. IE: there was someone who wasn't feeling well and left, the other teachers were talking strategy on how to handle this, etc. 1. The first thing I asked when interviewing the daycare was what was their turnover. They said they didn't see much and they don't close down. 2. The priorities should be on the children and figure out everything else when there isn't a screaming child and two others in baby bjorn's unattended. Transitioning to a new facility is going to be difficult. I recognize that there would be an adjustment period and that's why I didn't immediately pull my child out when I saw them crying on the floor by themselves. This went beyond that. This was absolutely neglectful. I am glad that Katie went ahead and terminated one of the teachers who did not act, but there are still three others who were there in addition, Katie, herself that is not being held accountable. Forgive my grammar, I'm pissed.

From day one, the difference here was night and day. Jes, the director, is truly phenomenal. She's hands-on, attentive, and genuinely cares about the children and families. She's perfect for her role as a directoy, and in a perfect world, she'd also be the director at our new center. My baby was in the infant room with Ms. Nadine, who is absolutely amazing at what she does. (Fun fact: my now 6-year-old was once in her care as a baby before COVID...she was just as good then) I never had to worry when Ms. Nadine was there. Special thanks also to Ms. Hina, Rose, Brittany, and Sabrina (sorry if i forgot a name!) each of them made such a positive impact. In an ideal situation, I'd have brought them all with us to our new center. The only reason we left was because a center closer to home became available with a few vacancies. Otherwise, we would have happily stayed. I can't recommend this center and its wonderful staff enough.

While I initially enrolled my then 2-year-old daughter due, in large part, to a friend's recommendation and the appeal of a NAEYC accreditation, those are not the reasons she is still there 2 years later. My daughter LOVES her teachers and I know, without a doubt, that they love her, too. They love her as an individual on her best and very worst days. When she is struggling to say goodbye in the morning, I know she has many welcoming arms to jump into in my absence. Her teachers and aids, not just those in her classroom, but all of them, know her and care about her. They have even expressed an interest in me as an individual and are so warm and supportive in the morning that it eases the tension of the morning rush. Additionally, as a teacher myself, I have been humbled by the quality of my daughter's lessons and the speed with which she is acquiring new information and skills. Her teachers challenge her with content I would have assumed was too advanced for a 4-year-old, but she loves it and thrives. I am certain that she would not be as academically prepared as she is now had she remained with a nanny. The social skills and increased rigor posed by a class of other children is something you cannot replicate in the home. I am SO glad I made the switch from in-home care to the Malvern School. Although we still have one more year there, I am already thinking about the day my daughter will graduate to kindergarten and the heartbreak we will both feel when our Malvern days end. I cannot recommend it enough.
