The teachers in the infant room are incredibly attentive, nurturing, and genuinely invested in each child. They take the time to learn every baby's individual needs, routines, and personality, which has made such a difference for our daughter. We always feel reassured knowing she is in a safe, loving, and engaging environment. Communication has been excellent--whether it's updates throughout the day, feeding and nap details, or just sharing sweet moments. It means so much to know how she's doing while we're apart. We've also noticed great developmental progress since our daughter started. It's clear the team is intentional about supporting growth through age-appropriate activities, interaction, and care. We are so grateful to have found a daycare that treats our daughter like family. I would highly recommend this program to any parent looking for a trustworthy and loving place for their child.

In the interest of transparency, current and prospective parents should know that those steps included having their attorney at Goodspeed and Merrill send my family a cease‑and‑desist letter threatening a defamation lawsuit in conjunction with a fabricated CPS report if I did not immediately remove my review. The CPS allegations they threatened to file were created by flipping our concerns about the school back onto us; even if those allegations had been true, they still would not constitute child abuse. I'll be attaching the threatening document they sent so families can understand exactly what is going on. My review is based entirely on my firsthand experience. Any parent who wants to understand the situation more fully is welcome to reach out. Original Post: I'm writing this as a parent who keeps receipts- emails, timelines, photos, everything. And based on that documentation, I want other families to know what we experienced here. Our son came home with a bad bruise on his back, yet we heard nothing from the school. When brought to their attention, the school said they documented, but they repeatedly refused to give us the incident report. This wasn't an isolated issue. When our son caught a virus the school had emailed about a week earlier, the owner later denied the presence of the virus -- despite us having the original message. We also discovered missed diaper changes in our son's log that led to a severe diaper rash. From my perspective, this daycare is more focused on protecting its image than being honest with parents or providing consistent care. Please do your homework before enrolling -- ask for policies in writing and trust your instincts.

This school has been a saving grace for our family, and we are so happy to have found it…read more We checked out the Little School after recommendations from multiple people on a Highlands Ranch Facebook group. Our daughter was painfully shy, and had a difficult time speaking with other kids, and wouldn't even consider talking to other adults. A COVID kid through and through. She is a November baby, so she couldn't go into school until she was almost four, as she is past the October 1 deadline. Lucky for us, St. Luke's offers a 2.5 year old program structured like preschool for kids that would normally have to wait an extra year. Since starting at the Little School our child has blossomed. She is playing with other kids, talking to adults, and her vocabulary has doubled. Her teacher is so thoughtful and considerate, and they are always doing fun activities. She's regularly doing and saying things I had no idea she knew how to do or say! She also loves it, and says "I wanna go to preschool" every morning when she wakes up. We are so thankful for the Little School, and absolutely plan on keeping her enrolled until she enters kindergarten. They have totally changed our child for the better! If anything, I just wish she went more.

These will show clearly not only does the owner not care about child safety but that these kids are being ignored by the teachers. If a teacher was paying attention and not talking to friends on their phones most of these could have been avoided. I have a ton more issues with this school and owner. The issues include: My daughter being left with spoiled milk for extended periods during full school days on multiple occasions. Being informed that there is no standard practice to replace children's cups with fresh water during the day or to clean them routinely. Frequent minor injuries occurring on a near-weekly basis, which I believe are related to inadequate supervision. I have personally observed staff using phones during classroom hours instead of actively monitoring the children. A consistent lack of communication regarding my daughter's daily activities. Despite being told she participates in art daily, I have never received any of her work. A noticeable behavioral change in my daughter. She was previously comfortable and social; she is now fearful of returning and appears anxious around other children. When I ask about my daughter's day at drop-off or pick-up, I am often ignored or treated as though my questions are an inconvenience. Teachers playing on cellphones while watching children which leads to more incidents, lack of care, and discomfort around students The owners reply shows zero remorse and more frames it as a misunderstanding? In under 3 months, our son was bitten 4 times, each severe enough to break skin. One incident wasn't even noticed by staff; we discovered it at home. We were told there were known "biters" in the class before my son had even started at the daycare, confirmed by the teacher, yet the issue continued without meaningful intervention. It became clear this was an ongoing classroom problem that was not being properly managed, creating an unsafe environment not just for our child but for others as well. After the fourth bite, I stated this could not continue and that my child's safety comes first. Within an hour after talking to the teacher and administration in the morning, we received an email saying I was "rude and disrespectful" and our child was immediately terminated. Yes, they will say they communicated and followed protocol but repeated injuries, a missed incident, and lack of improvement tell a different story. Dismissing a family for speaking up instead of addressing the issue is unacceptable. Instead of fixing a known problem, they chose to remove the family who raised it.

There is so much to look at for childcare & we're so happy we found Ohana.

Like many kids, my son was apprehensive about changing schools, but within a month he realized that he was where he belonged, and now he tries to spend every extra minute he can at school attending before or after school clubs. The International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is an excellent basis for in-depth education and exploration, but the true strength of Mackintosh is the amazing teaching faculty and staff. All of the teachers seem to love their jobs and their students and with the low student/teacher ratios, the teachers truly know the kids and how to elicit their best thinking and work. Like all learners, gifted students have strengths and weaknesses, and the teachers are able to offer broad enrichment to support a student's strengths as well as support and scaffolding for a student's challenge areas. They are able to support a learner who may be three years ahead in math, but who finds writing a struggle. The teachers are willing to differentiate instruction and assignments and meet students where they are and gently push them to grow and believe in their abilities. Some more things that I love about the school: amazing grade-level theatrical performances, multi-day nature-based field trips for the older grades, outside lunch as weather allows, and a well-rounded curriculum that includes PE every day, plus either performing or visual arts every day and a period every day that is split between Spanish some days and design others. I wish more kids could experience a Mackintosh education. I saw some comments about bullying. I am not personally aware of any bullying at the school, and I haven't had any parents share any bullying experiences with me. Also, I haven't experienced any "cliques" among the parents. Everyone seems very nice and genuine. If you have a gifted learner who would benefit from a warm, enriching, education, we strongly recommend that you consider Mackintosh Academy.

Maria Cardona was in charge of creating from scratch the curriculum for a handful of kids for a few years. My daughter improved in her writing and reading comprehension a lot. The topics covered during all those years touched on many areas so I'm very appreciative of Maria Cardona's creative curriculum and patience throughout those years. We also had very good experiences with all classes, from advanced math, to art, and everything in between. I'm sure that will be key for my daughter's high school and college future

I have worked with children from the northern and southern hemisphere, as well as the eastern and western. From my experiences I've learned that all children learn and grow best the same way: through play. My daycare space is carefully designed with this concept in mind. Instead of drills and worksheets, children are given thematic, age-appropriate toys and activities to help them explore their abilities and interests. A great portion of my time is spent observing children take charge of their natural inclinations and adjusting the play space to serve their development and natural learning patterns. As members of our group, children learn appropriate interpersonal skills in a safe and loving environment. Much of my focus is on helping children understand their big feelings and learn to cope with them. We learn that we are responsible for the care of ourselves and others. I work in partnership with parents in the best interests of their child. I strive to cultivate trust and comfort with my families. As a mother of two small children, I am very aware of the great trust parents place in me when they leave their children in my care. I do not take that responsibility lightly. Child care is my calling and I consider it an honor to help raise kind and happy citizens for the future of our world!
