I thought it was pink eye so I sent a message to the school that night which no one responded or called me. I wanted to let everyone know so that others may not get infected. My husband called the next morning to inform them since no one reached out from the school. I took my child to the doctor on 06/20/2023 to get checked out and the doctor confirm that it may not be pink eye but to keep watch; her eye was very swollen and it looked like she may have gotten hit in the face. My husband then spoke with someone again at the school to look at the cameras and that we can have access to the cameras and that someone would call me. No one ever call me so I physically had to go to the school and re-explain wheat happened to the front desk which she said she saw the message but failed to reply. So you all allow sick kids to come to school??? I spoke with someone sitting at the front desk and we went back to the classroom to speak with Miari and she then said well 2 kids in the classroom had pink eye!! I was not aware and nor was the school director! This is an extreme violation of OSHA so I immediately removed my child from the school due to the lack of care and communication. The teachers don't even have access to Kids Reports, which sucks! At Primrose, which we are going back to now, allow open communication between the parents and teachers. I literally have to call the school and ask every day to send pictures of my child to ensure she is ok. Primrose always keeps me updated and send loving messages about my baby girl and ensures that she is loved and being treated well. I would not recommend this school for the academics or structure but they are the cheapest I've seen and that probably why they have so many downfalls bc its a "cheap" school. I'm worried everyday about my child even eating. They are so short staffed they weren't even able to feed my baby solids bc they were "too busy". No parent wants to come and pick their child up from school and hear things like. she was fussing all day or she didn't sleep, better yet does she throw up all the time??? Invest in your employee' s knowledge and communication styles. I will never come back nor recommended this school to anyone. I had no choice but to report this school to OSHA since no communication went out about children being contagious. They don't even wear masks or uniforms to shield any allergens her from the children that maybe carried from outside at this school. 4 weeks wasted. Please go to Primrose.

The teachers truly love my children as if they were their own grandchildren or children, which means so much to me. The director is a grandmother herself, and you can really see how her high standards reflect what everyday care should look like. I also appreciate that the food is fresh every day and catered in. Additionally, notifications about illnesses are sent out in a timely manner, which I really value as a parent.

My son comes home with new bite marks, diaper rash and soiled diapers that's been sitting so long the feces is dried onto his butt. The teachers are inattentive. LOW QUALITY childcare. New leadership came in around June if last year and completely drove this place into the ground further. The owner cares only about making money, not about making sure your kids are cared for using the tuition you pay. I understand there are many schools with wait lists and as a parent we are limited with options - I'd recommend you advocate for your child and don't let the leadership here bully you into silence if you must attend here. Also, they have a coming soon sign out front that is tacky and I'm not sure how the HOA hasn't had them take it down. Such an eye sore and obviously they've been open for years now.

WORST DAYCARE IN FORNEY!!!…read more I am writing this review to share my deeply disappointing experience with Children's Lighthouse Day Care. My 21-month-old son was enrolled there, and the treatment we received was not only unprofessional but also indicative of a lack of genuine care for the children under their supervision. Lack of Understanding and Communication: Initially, we were contacted by the daycare requesting a parent-teacher conference because our son was climbing on tables and opening the classroom door. As parents, we understand that toddlers exhibit exploratory behaviors and grow at different paces, something that any qualified childcare provider should recognize. My husband responded immediately, expressing his availability for the conference. However, we were told that their director was unavailable that week. It is baffling to me that they could not proceed with the conference without the director or at least reschedule promptly. Abrupt and Unjustified Dismissal: On a Monday June 3 2024, we dropped off our son as usual. Within less than two hours, we received a call requesting to come and pick him up and informing us that our son was being dismissed because he continued to open the door and pull the blinds. This was the same behavior we had been willing to discuss and find solutions for, but instead, they chose to expel a 21-month-old without any prior warning or opportunity to work as parents and teachers involved in a child's development. The daycare is starting summer activities this same Monday ( June 3 2023) with many other kids attending the program. It appears that, overwhelmed by the influx of children for the summer program, they decided to dismiss our son immediately to prioritize the new arrivals. This clearly shows their priority: money over the well-being of the children they are supposed to care for. Questionable Priorities: It became evident that the daycare's primary concern is financial gain rather than the well-being of the children. Their focus on managing numbers rather than nurturing individual children, especially those who may require a bit more attention and understanding, is disappointing. Poor Teacher Conduct: The behavior of the staff is also a matter of concern. Amy, a staff member we spoke to on the phone, placed us on hold without any notice and transferred the call to the director without informing us. When we finally spoke to the director, she was very dismissive of anything we said, showing no empathy or willingness to address our concerns. The teachers exhibited a lack of kindness, care, and understanding. As parents, we expect educators to be patient, loving, and supportive, particularly in a daycare setting. Unfortunately, the teachers at Children's Lighthouse Day Care fell short of these basic expectations. Children's Lighthouse Day Care wasn't like this when it started four years ago. The then director was very nice and willing to sit and talk about your child's growth and progress with parents. You sit at home and know your child is feeling at home at the daycare. The class teachers were nice as well, showing genuine care and commitment. This has drastically changed, with the current staff and administration displaying a clear lack of the qualities that made the daycare a good place initially. I frequently noticed that my son's nose was always dirty when I picked him up. Additionally, when we dressed him in a sweater in the morning because it was cold, the staff didn't bother to take it off when it got hot outside. This lack of attention to such basic needs shows a complete lack of empathy and basic human care. I usually do not write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience to help other parents make informed decisions. A friend of mine who toured the daycare few weeks back had advised me to look for alternatives, noting the inadequacies she observed. I regret not heeding her warning as the daycare's convenience and proximity to our home blinded us to potential issues. I strongly advise parents to reconsider enrolling their children at Children's Lighthouse Day Care. Their handling of our situation was unprofessional and demonstrated a lack of genuine care for children. Save yourself the heartache and find a daycare that truly prioritizes the well-being and development of your child.

Several mornings she (the owner) showed up to open the daycare late with no reason. She will call you to come pick up your child early if the child is the last one there or to pick up your child if she has something to do and needs to close the daycare early. She finally hired another teacher so things got a lot better, but you still must deal with the owner because she would be there in the morning. She gave the parents a 2 weeks' notice that the daycare would no longer be a "store front" and will turn into a home daycare. The home daycare was supposed to start on 4/29/24 (please keep in mind that you pay a week in advance. I paid on 4/26/24 for the week of 4/29/24). On 4/27/24 at 7pm at night she informed us that the daycare wouldn't be opening on Monday because they couldn't get movers because of the storm and that we would receive a credit, but the daycare would open on Wednesday. I NEVER RECEIVED A CREDIT. Then on Tuesday she informed us parents that the daycare wouldn't open until Monday because they couldn't get an inspection because the daycare wasn't fully set up. She then turned the phones off and LIED and said it was on the charger when I messaged her on the Remind me App, but for days I would call trying to get an update and it would go straight to voicemail. Please keep in mind that I was trying to get clarification on when the daycare was going to open because I am a single parent with not help and I needed to try to find help to watch my daughter while I work and I didn't want to find someone to watch my daughter and pay them and still be obligated to pay Coopers Cottage because she's still enrolled there and by the policy you are required to pay weekly and give a two weeks' notice. You can't just take your child out and if you do then you will have to still pay for two weeks. Weeks passed and I called, and the phone rang but she messaged me on the Remind app stating that she was on a call. I put in a two weeks' notice as per the policy and asked for a refund for services not rendered for the week of 4/29/24. She didn't respond to my message. I followed up a week later and let her know that I requested a refund via Venmo since she hadn't responded to my initial message and again no response. On 5/21/2024 I messaged her about her unprofessionalism, and she blocked me from messaging her on the Remind app and called me aggressive. I have never been aggressive. In fact, one day she asked why I was upset in April because she called me mid-week to come pick up my child because she was closing at 2pm because the other teacher was in the hospital sick, and she had to do something. The following week she said the daycare had no power at 7:30 am (I assume she had been there since at least 6:30am and could have notified the parents at 6:30 am before they sat in traffic and drove all the way to the daycare). And that's when I expressed to her how every week it's something and I have a job and I'm tired of paying for services and not ever receiving a full week of proper care without being called to come get her early since the end of January. Now she's lying and saying I've been difficult to deal with, and I'm aggressive and that's why she hasn't responded. I told another parent weeks ago that I wouldn't leave a bad review even though the services suck, but I wouldn't recommend it if anyone ever asked because as a single parent this was one of the affordable daycare options, I understand and that's why I tried to stick it out. The daycare is nasty, my child was a crawler for months and would always have black stuff all over her shoes and clothes. My child would come home with a dirty face and nasty diapers until I brought it to their attention because twice, she came home with dried feces on her clothes and shoes, but her diaper had no feces. Brandi Jones the owner is unprofessional & 0 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

However, the staff reassured us that if we called ahead before 9 a.m. when running a few minutes late, it would be fine, and we could still bring them in. Despite this, the school lacked a visible Montessori curriculum, and the environment felt cold and uninspiring like a jail. Communication was poor, and the director's professionalism fell far short--she never introduced herself, did not acknowledge parents, and made herself unavailable for meetings for concerns. When we raised concerns about flexible check-in, we were told by front desk staff it would be fine--only for them to later deny us entry when we were 3 minutes late. Our kids were only enrolled 8 days! The worst part came on day 8, when Jessica Kohler, the manager, aggressively confronted me as I was leaving with my children at 5pm. She spoke in a demeaning, disrespectful tone in front of my kids and other parents. When I requested a meeting with the director in a professional setting, she refused and continued her aggressive behavior saying the Director gave her authority to speak to me in that manner and in that setting. I told her I no longer felt safe due to her tone and aggression towards me while i had my children--if I didn't feel safe, I knew my children weren't either. I told her that it would be my kids last day at the daycare. She asked me to get their belongings since i was unenrolling them. While retrieving their belongings, she rushed into my space, yelling that she wasn't intimidated by me--while I held my 12-month-old daughter and had my 3-year-old son. I calmly explained I was only following her instructions to collect their things, but she screamed at me to "leave or else." All while in me and my daughter face, pointing. I walked out headed towards to front door. After this, she threw our belongings on the counter and ordered me out. Afterward, I met with the director via phone, whose professionalism also fell short--she never took accountability, made no effort to make herself available, and simply deferred to the manager's conduct. In short, Arka Montessori is unprofessional, lacks a true Montessori environment, and both the director and staff--especially Jessica Kohler--failed in their duty to provide a safe, respectful space. Please do not bring your babies to this daycare. It is not a safe environment for them or yourself. I do not recommend this daycare.
