    The Goddard School of Rockwall

This was our third daycare in about 2 years with our daughter and we are thankful that we found it…read moreand enrolled our child at Goddard. We pulled our child out of the first daycare abruptly due to major issues. The second one was more or less ok, but struggled with major turnover in the classrooms that disrupted the class constantly. Goddard School in Rockwall changed all of that. Our daughter has absolutely flourished in this school and adores her teachers who have mostly all been with her from when she first enrolled. At previous schools, our daughter always had a rough time at drop off, and was always very emotional at pick up. But not at Goddard. She is excited to show up every day, and we virtually have to drag her away in the evenings at pickup while she goes classroom to classroom hugging all of her favorite teachers and friends. We credit Goddard in both her development and her confidence, both of which are through the roof. The very few questions & concerns that have popped up never fell on deaf ears and were addressed immediately by staff and ownership. We are confident that the school, ownership, leadership, and teachers have all helped prepare her for kindergarten and while we are excited to start the new chapter in the next school year, we will still miss the connections that our daughter has made with the staff and other classmates who will be moving to other schools. We cannot recommend Goddard School in Rockwall enough. From the staff, the facilities, class structure, and after school activities and parent involvement such as parent/student dances, parent/student days and events (none of which happened at previous schools), the school is exceptional and in our experience, we challenge anyone to find a better experience in a Rockwall/Heath area daycare. They will be few and far between.

Our son was enrolled for fewer than 100 days. Prior to Goddard, he attended another childcare…read moreprogram for two years without significant behavioral concerns beyond what is developmentally typical for his age. During his time at Goddard, the school reported frequent behavioral "outbursts." In January 2026, we received 13 calls from the director regarding his behavior. During these communications, the only intervention described was "positive redirection." No structured behavior plan, escalation protocol, or individualized behavioral strategy was provided. Concerned about the sudden change, we consulted our pediatrician, who confirmed that our son's behavior was developmentally typical for a child of his age and noted concern that the school did not appear to be operating with a structured behavioral framework to support children consistently. Following this, our pediatrician provided a plan intended to guide Goddard in supporting him. The owner declined to implement the IEP. Throughout this process, the responsibility for resolving behavioral concerns was repeatedly placed on us as parents, despite the behaviors only occurring during the school day while the child was in the school's care. When we asked leadership for specific recommendations or a collaborative plan, we were not provided with actionable guidance. Ultimately, rather than working with us to support our child, the school required that our son be unenrolled. We have concerns regarding leadership qualifications. The director position at Goddard requires a bachelor's degree along with early childhood education or related experience. The current director does not meet these educational requirements. This raises concerns about whether the leadership position is being filled in accordance with expectations and whether the individual has the necessary qualifications to effectively oversee staff, manage behavioral concerns, and ensure program quality. We observed practices that raise concerns about consistency and fairness. Parents who have established personal relationships with the director/owner receive informal "warning calls" when their children are experiencing behavioral difficulties, rather than formal documentation or consistent application of behavioral reporting procedures. This raises concerns about favoritism and unequal application of policies among families. Perhaps most concerning was the overall leadership culture. The owner and director frequently deflected responsibility, minimized concerns, and demonstrated little willingness to partner with parents. From our experience, families who raise concerns or attempt to hold the school accountable are often encouraged or effectively required to unenroll rather than having issues addressed. This approach discourages transparency and does not foster the kind of partnership families should expect from a childcare provider. Communication regarding our child's behavior was limited, and there was minimal collaboration or effort to implement a structured support plan. The burden of managing and resolving behavioral concerns was placed primarily on us rather than being addressed through a coordinated approach between the school and family. Staffing turnover was also observed within the classroom, and parents were not consistently informed of changes. Based on available state information online, the facility had significant !!! turnover of staff in 2025 (check the TX state website). Frequent turnover can impact continuity of care and the ability to maintain consistent expectations and routines for children. Since leaving Goddard, our son is thriving and has not exhibited the behaviors reported during his enrollment. This reinforces our belief that the environment, staff attitudes, and lack of structured behavioral support at Goddard is the cause. Based on our experience, we would caution families considering this location. For a program that charges premium tuition, we expect professionalism, transparency, consistency, and partnership. We regret trusting this program and would not make the same decision again.

I was thrilled to have gotten him into the program, but that's about where the thrill ended. My son is still in the process of potty training- he has accidents from time to time which is normal for his age. I was assured that it wouldn't be an issue with the class he was entering, and that the teachers would help remind him to go. Instead of giving him a new pullup before or after nap, or even at any point in the day, my son sat in the same one I dropped him off in. I brought it to the attention of the director, who assured me it would be rectified in short order. Instead, on Friday my son came home with a rash all over his private parts and booty because they'd left him in a swim diaper FOR 8 HOURS. I contacted the director who told me we could move him to a lower class, and no real explanation as to why this issue was continuing. If it continues, I will be removing my child from the school. Edited to add update: Bailey actually responded really well with the situation. Most of my issues were resolved because of her swift action at fixing the problem.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with smiles and warm energy. Mrs. Kristy and Mrs. Lindsey at the front desk start our mornings off right with a cheerful "Good Morning!" that sets the tone for the day. Mrs. Natasha is incredibly soft-spoken, kind, and wonderfully communicative--her calm presence is so reassuring. We enrolled our son last school year, and he absolutely loves it. He runs into the building every morning full of excitement and comes home happy and full of stories. He gets to do fun projects during the school year, and now that he's in summer camp, he's going on awesome field trips that he truly enjoys. After having more than my fair share of bad experiences with childcare in the past--some of which left me with a bit of PTSD--I can confidently say that Children's Park has given me peace of mind. I know they're watching over my little guy, keeping him safe, and helping him grow into his best self. If you're looking for a daycare where your child is truly cared for and you can feel confident and comfortable every time you drop them off, Children's Park is the place to be.
