Very disappointing experience to say the least. We had signed our son up about a month ago at Children's Lighthouse of Rockwall and there have been nothing but issues daily. We had arrived for our sons first day, they did not know who we were or where he was supposed to be. We were walked around for 10 minutes from room to room until she figured it out. The lady continued to say "we have just signed up so many children lately, hard to keep track of everyone" When we did finally meet his "teacher" for the day it was a very cold experience. No comfort for the child and not welcoming what so ever. We had hoped this was an off day and spoke with their director Rebecca the following day. We were told this is not the normal and apologized and informed us it will get better, they continue to praise and announce that they continue adding more children yet the current children are still not properly cared for. Not enough staff in the rooms, when we show up for drop off there are typically kids wrestling, kids in corners crying and all around it looks like one big mess. The teacher is usually with 20+ kids and it is not enough. Immediately after discussing our issues, it seemed to be a touch better for a couple days as there was a new teacher and she was a lot better. But that did not last long and she was transferred and he got another even colder teacher. Everyday we arrive it's a new teacher, chaos, no consistency, no compassion or caring. When you enter the classroom, the teachers barely even look at you. They really do need to dive deep into their hiring practice. Upon visiting before signup, they spoke a big game and the facilities were all clean, we were excited to the fact our child would be learning while there - this was not the case. He was just recently at Bright Horizons in Plano but we wanted to get him closer. We have never had an experience quite like this and honestly hope no other families have to go through the same experience. We have removed him from Children's Lighthouse and got him immediately into a much better facility. read more

Used to work here, lasted less than 2 weeks. Glad I got out after reading other parents reviews about this crappy place. ZERO communication between staff & employees, questions/concerns/suggestions just float in the air. Don't offer REAL in person training, leave you to figure it out & fend for yourself. DO NOT RECCOMEND!! They will talk a big game, but they do not deliver. They offer camera access, but say they can not play the video back to see what happened to your child. My son came home with a scratch and bruise under his eye and I asked them to play back the camera feed to see what had happened. They said it is live feed only. What good is that? I never got to find out what happened. They then come up with a story and a report for me to sign. They offer a program for the schoolers, but it really isn't anything special. They leave them out of everything. No Valentine's or Christmas party for the school age children. They only give them pretzels. My schooler is always trampled by all the other children. They don't have enough staff for all the kids they want to cram in the rooms. If your child is potty training then good luck, the bathroom set up for the toddlers is for adults. The playground is not closed off, I had to drop off my 2 year old outside on the playground. The kids were EVERYWHERE. They were all wondering off. NONE of their set up makes sense. They will act like they care, but they do not. read more

Used to love this school until the director left. The new director is very rude, clueless, and less than helpful when you have an issue. I have called in multiple occasions to advise that something was happening in the classroom and the teacher was not paying attention. My child has come home with bite marks and scratches, only to later find out what had happened (when I called upset, asking for answers). Although sometimes they are "not sure what happened" because the teachers weren't watching. The last straw however is the fact that they decided to up our rates by $80 a week because we decided to keep our son home during this virus scare - because I am very high risk to get the virus and I need to keep myself and my family safe. I even offered to pay the normal rate we've been paying for the past 13 months EVEN THOUGH he won't be attending. They refused. I think that falls under price gouging - correct me if I'm wrong. Would not recommend this daycare until new office management takes over. read more

The new, bright, and beautiful facility opened within the last year or two. The staff is accommodating and kind, and the curriculum works. My just-turned-2-year old daughter knows the alphabet, can count to 10 (sometimes passed that), can pick out most shapes and colors, and I just caught her today saying the days of the week. She is happy when I drop her off and pick her up, which means a lot to me. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because of the cost. I definitely could find cheaper child care in Rockwall, but the facility and purposeful curriculum is what made me choose Children's Lighthouse. Also, my daughter's particular class has gone through a few teacher changes. (The other classes seem more consistent: The late ones/early twos have just had some bad luck in consistency lately.) But I am still happy with Children's Lighthouse and look forward to seeing what else my daughter learns. read more

We have had our twin girls here since they were 3 months old and they are almost 11 months. We have enjoyed each teacher they have had. It's nice to find a school that we don't have to keep looking for a better one. read more

Our child went to this daycare for four years. I think this is mainly because of the change in management and lack of knowledge in running a daycare. We recently saw the decline in child care and lack of teacher attention to children in the class. They have sent children home with the wrong clothes or in our case no underwear. When in fact his / her clothes were there. We also noted in several occasions the teachers on their cell phones outside when they should have been watching the children. Again...teachers are being changed frequently and have noticed that our child in fact had not learned anything in the last three - five months. Please consider using another daycare for your children. read more

I absolutely love this place! My son has been going to school at CL for just over two years now. The director Tracy and the assistant director Lori are like family to us. Both are easy to talk to....in fact, I have asked for advice on subjects of potty training, temper tantrums and schedules and have always found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful! The curriculum is amazing and a schedule is followed rather than it just being a typical "day care center". It is much more like an elementary school with circle time, learning time, rest time, show and tell and recess. My son has learned so much during his time there including writing his name, days of the week, counting to 100 and learning to be a friend and share. Lunch is provided along with a morning and afternoon snack and I love that they pray before they eat! The staff is very nice and my son is always greeted by name in the hallway by teachers from other classrooms. Miss Brittany is one of our favorite staff members and we feel so good knowing that she is at the front desk because she always seems to know everything that has happened on any given day and always has an answer if we have a question. My son's teacher Miss K is very encouraging and easy to talk to and always let's me know how my son's day went! There are many activities offered (some for an additional fee) that the kids can be a part of including sports classes, karate, dance, etc. All kids are enrolled in a Stretch & Grow class and watching the class being taught last week, I am so pleased that my son can be a part of it! He was having an absolute blast! The classrooms are always kept neat and clean. I also love that they have windows in every classroom so you can watch your child without them being able to see you. There are also cameras in every room so that you can watch your child online while they are at school if you want to.....which I used often when he first started because I missed him so much! CL also celebrates holidays with different events throughout the year. Last year for Halloween, CL opened up at night for the kids to dress up and go trick or treating at the school. A petting zoo, cotton candy, face painting and more were provided. Classroom parties happen throughout the year for holidays and special events allowing parents to be involved and celebrate too! I feel very blessed to have my son at a school where he is encouraged, taught and loved like a member of the CL family. I never have to worry about my son when he is there because I know that he is taken care of exactly the way I would at home! read more

We've been with CLLC for almost 2 years in Rockwall now and love it! We enjoy the management staff and teachers that love on our kiddos! The teachers are caring, hard working, and loving. When our toddler has meltdowns when we leave/ drop off, they are quick to distract and give hugs and love to make sure he feels safe and loved. Any issues I've had have been resolved and taken care. They respond quickly to complaints or concerns, are great at problem solving, and assuring parents they too have the best interest for your children. We've had some turnover in our classrooms that is a little annoying but the management team is typically able to answer questions or make announcements when a change is happening. I appreciate the transparency from them. My kids are happy, learning, and growing and that makes me happy and satisfied. read more

I thought it was going to be the best thing for my little one. So many safety measures in place. They had cameras so I could share little moments with my little one while I was working. It was actually a nightmare!!! My daughter never had a consistent teacher. My daughter started having behavior issues, I thought she was picking up bad behaviors from the other kids but come to find out (from another employee) she was being abused by her teacher. Management knew the teacher was like that but kept her employed until we fought it. It is every parents nightmare!!! read more

My son is almost 2 years old and has been going to Children's Lighthouse Rockwall for over a year now. My son loves his teachers and really enjoys going here. Tracy (Director) and staff are friendly, professional, and most of all, take great care of all the kids. My son has learned so much and we are often told that he is so advanced and smart for his age and it's because of Children's Lighthouse's great curriculum and wonderful teachers. You can also watch your child online which is an added benefit. There are also several fun events throughout the year which we and the kids love! I highly recommend! Your kids will love this place! Best daycare in Rockwall. We love the lighthouse. Our daughter has be there since 10 months old and now in the pre-k program. Teachers are great (low turn over rate), curriculum is great (at age 4 our daughter knows all 50 states, all the presidents and the solar system). They are an education center, not a daycare center. Extra programs (soccer, computers, dance) are offered to help keep weekend times for more family times. If you have young ones, I highly recommend the Children's Lighthouse. read more

CLLC (Children's Lighthouse Learning Center) in Rockwall is the BEST! My daughter has gone here for almost 5 years and I couldn't be more pleased with the love, care, protection and education she's received while there. We started off in room 1 and she's now in room 9. As soon as we walk in the center, everyone says hi to her, Directors/teachers give her a hug. She's way more advanced at this age than my son was (they went to 2 different day cares). I wish I had found CLLC when my son was small. The directors take all policies, cleanliness, etc. very seriously, thus I feel my child is safe. They have cameras in the rooms so you can watch your child. I was a crazy parent always watching my child, but after a while, had full trust in the center and don't watch at all anymore. Both of my boys have been attending Children's Lighthouse of Rockwall for the last 3 years. When we were looking for a daycare/afterschool-summer care program, we visited several, some of which were cheaper. However, I was impressed with the staff and structure that they provide for the kids. My youngest attended for 2 years prior to starting kindergarten and I can honestly say that he was way ahead of his classmates in kindergarten and I feel that was in large part due to the amount of learning that he received at Children's Lighthouse. He even knows all of his presidents (I can't even recite them)! We did have to spend a little more money, but I do think you get your money's worth out of this place! read more
