I was…read moresigned up via Renaissance club and so I was seated with members from the club and we ended up fast friends laughing joyfully as we ate blindly. First, there is parking at the building but it's easy to miss because of traffic but it's a quick enterance and then down a steep tight hill into the lot. Valet is there but I found a self parking spot. For the event our parking was validated which made the parking only $8 which was a relief since parking around the area can be quite pricey! Inside the room all the tables are intimately set up according to how many people were on the reservation, and the room is surrounded by windows where you can see the amazing LA view. I love that according to what you're going to eat you get a color coded candle. Meat is red candle, Fish is blue, and vegetarian is green. When it is time to go dark they announce and you blind fold yourself with a blindfold that you get to keep at the end! There are 3 courses and I will not ruin it by telling you what I ate so you can be surprised. After each course the chef comes in and he tells you what the food was. I honestly expected that because my sight was gone that I would be hyper aware but somehow I guessed wrong about some of the ingredients! It was such a cool experience and the dessert was so good I wanted more. Dining in the dark was such a wonderful experience. If you need date ideas this would be a really great date idea! After the dinner was over, I explored the 51sr floor a little before heading to the elevator and it's really beautiful up there. There are some rooms with a TV and table and chairs and all the windows. In the waiting area there are even binoculars to use. Such a cool experience I would definitely do it again!

Staff is friendly and helpful and the catering is pretty good. I enjoy seeing DTLA from this vantage point as there aren't too many other buildings out there that have similar views. Unfortunately, we lost our long time meeting location in the Palisades fire and were left scrambling to find a new location that could hold such a large group for a few hours on Sundays. Being a non-profit, our budget is extremely limited, and furthermore we were constrained by the limitations of our group's size. When we reached out to the SMBWC and let them know our limitations, they offered us a reasonable discounted price for the venue rental. We thought this would be our new "home" despite the fact that the building manager named BECKY was absolutely rude, refused to answer repeated calls, refused to reply to dozens of our emails. She is the most unprofessional woman I have ever encountered and I have yet to even see her! We were desperate for a location and decided to "tough it out". Unfortunately, BECKY decided to double book and push us up into the mezzanine which is entirely OPEN to the ballroom floor below. Last June she put a FUNERAL in the space below - and never told us! We found out as we walked in to set up for our event! We were holding a celebration and award ceremony while the funeral was going on! They could hear us, and we could hear them! Not to mention, we had numerous problems with our chair and AV requests prior to when Jose (who is the only helpful person) came on board. BECKY decided to double book us again and left us with TWO WEEKS to scramble to find another location for our annual career panel. Again, she refused to return our calls. Disrespectful, rude, and thoughtless. I overpaid by $100 on our last month and had hoped to get our $100 back. She has yet to respond to our emails. Disgusting to do this to an organization that is focused on and committed to helping people in need. And to steal from a non-profit citing that we were getting a severely discounted rate is beyond the pale. We had a contract and she broke it. Thankfully we, have found a new home managed by civilized people who care about their jobs. Becky certainly doesn't. And it's a shame to see that as I called around, one other building owner asked who had done this to us. When I told him he laughed and said, "Ah, you're one of many who have been sucked over by her and we've helped provide space because of her." Nice to know she is in our community doing more harm than good. Shame on Becky!

Located in the heart of Venice, it is of compound of three structures with a plethora of interesting lanterns, lights, collectibles, paintings, sculptures, toys and clocks that make your event that extra special. Plenty of indoor, as well as outdoor seating, your time at any party or reception will be spent just reviewing the wall space, furniture and other cool items in sight. I have been here at least a half a dozen parties and fundraisers and the host is funny, gracious and welcoming. The menu is always inviting ad the main house plays well for any presentation by the host. Nestled in Frogtown, this spot is in a quieter residential area so parking was readily available. They have a large outdoor area with seating. The gallery was spacious with ample natural lighting, making it a welcoming place to explore. We had a good time and look forward to future events!
