Stayed overnight 22-23 December 2023…read more I had a short stay, but it was good nonetheless. I booked 1x double bed for two using the Hilton Honors app, but I was upgraded in the days leading up to my stay. Thanks, Hilton. My flight arrived late on the 22nd, so I used the app to inform the hotel that I would be checking in late. The hotel was easy to find, and although I checked in really late (after midnight), the hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was a bit small, but it was sufficient. The bathroom was clean, but there were no wash cloths available, and since I was leaving that same day, I didn't even bother asking for one. I love that they have large bottles of body wash, shampoo & conditioner, and hand soap for guest use instead of single use toiletries. The complementary breakfast was amazing. I had mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, ham, and hashbrowns. There was also this egg roll looking vegetable log. It was delicious. There was also a cereal bar and a waffles maker. The coffee maker had options for various coffees, teas, and hot beverages. I think the breakfast was the best part of my stay.

I judge hotels based on their showers & mattresses. This place came out very well on both accounts. The rooms were fairly small but adequate with a king sized bed. The bathroom was adequately appointed. The included breakfast was okay but least impressive of the 4 hotels we stayed at. It price was good & it was centrally located, if you can say anything is centrally located in England. I recommend this place in Croydon/Norbury.

Croydon is a bit far out but it's only a 10 minute walk to the East Croydon station to catch a train to Victoria Station in less than 30 minutes. I arrived early on Monday AM, drenched after a walk from the West Croydon train station. Luckily they checked me into my room at 10AM, I was grateful. The rooms are modest but totally functional and comfortable. The bed and bedding were surprisingly comfortable. I love crisp white sheets. There is a modest couch (I suspects folds down to another bed) but very comfortable to sit and watch the TV. This hotel includes a free breakfast that was actually pretty good, Lots of choices and all was fresh and well-stocked. Saturday night of my stay there was a rager in the room above mine, so glad I wore my earplugs that night. They were still going at 5 AM. This place is tricky to find, GPS/Google tried to lead me through an adjacent mall, but that didn't really work. There is generally no easy way to get to this place, but over three days here, it was not problem once I got familiar with the area.

Fire alarms going off all hours of the night for no reason at all! I checked into a double room as a single person and was upgraded to an executive suite which was a pleasant surprise. Here are the pros and cons of the hotel. Pros: - free parking below the hotel - ultra convenient - check out time was noon - hotel room was well cleaned and had a few perks like a bathroom and slippers - although the hotel is far from the center of London, the walk to the train station is very close by - free WiFi which had a good steady connection (but I think this was because my room was upgraded, otherwise I would have had to pay) - bed was really comfortable with proper linens Cons: - no clock in the room (I found this very odd) - wakeup call was 10 min late - inadequate lightening - several bulbs burned out and not replaced which made for a dimly lit room - breakfast buffet downstairs was way below par for nearly paying £15 - many entrees were not re-filled, only one approach to the table for coffee and tea, had to go up front to pay because server could not be found, used dishes were not cleared off the table in a timely fashion and finally the selection of breakfast items were horrible. Overall this hotel exceeded my expectation with the room upgrade for the price I paid coupled with excellent customer service. However, the room's minor offenses were very incidental next to the restaurant's inadequacies.

Although the bed and bathroom were clean, the couch that was in our room had crumbs and such. I felt like the important stuff to be clean was, but everything else could use another vacuum or wipe. If you're staying with more than 1 person, you will have to ask for more towels. The TV and air conditioning worked well. You can get free coffee and tea at the reception area. The hotel is very secure with multiple places to scan your card to enter although the staircase is one place they shouldn't have you scan for fire escape reasons. Check in and check out we're quite easy. Although the price was exceptional, I have stayed at slightly nicer places for the same price. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for Croydon visitors. The breakfast options at the restaurant Thyme are not free but are worth the price. The staff is lovely, and the food is delicious. You won't find another more convenient breakfast option of better value.

If you call to complain while during your stay they'll say they can't do anything until you check out. When their staff harass you and and make you very uncomfortable they will lie (the manager) about all of the above, and when you speak to customer services (please watch out for Deborah, it's a long time since I've spoken to a woman who made me feel like there was a demon living inside her where a soul should be) after you check out they will be rude, belittle you, infer you are a liar, put you on hold while you are speaking and are devoid of empathy and imo humanity altogether. So after you've complained and had an experience similar to me, make sure you do what I'm about to do which is speak to the 'Trading Standards department'. Just pick any other hotel, in fact any other chain, £20 quid more isn't going to kill you, the stress of Premier Inn won't be good for your health, especially not at the Croydon Town Centre branch. P.S the food gives you food poisoning in my experience, doubly not worth the risk.

As an American I was extremely nervous about the area because everyone told me negative things. I stayed in this area for an event, however I was pleasantly surprised. The Good: -Hotel was clean -Bed and pillows were comfortable -Location to public transportation, dining options, shopping -Large windows -Good for a solo traveler needing a room for a night or two I was given a corner room, which I know was more spacious that other rooms and there was a hallway where I could put my large suitcase The not-so-good: -One hanger. One. -One towel provided. -Nowhere to set items off the floor, besides the window ledges (or in bathroom) -The bathroom is reminiscent of a high school locker room. Take a shower and EVERYTHING will get wet. The ugly: -The temperature in the room was extremely difficult to control. I was either sweating to death or freezing. -The lobby experience - upon entering, I felt as if I entered a purgatory of sorts. There was a sign on the reception desk stating the employee would be returning momentarily. It felt as if it were 30C degrees and I could not take enough clothes off to get comfortable. Just as I felt I was going to pass out from heat stroke, an employee entered the lobby. At this point, 45 minutes had passed and there were several people waiting in the lobby wanting to check-in or having some kind of issue. -You can hear everything through the shared wall(s); you can also smell everything (pot) through the walls. -The TV is mounted so high on the wall! I had to jump to flip the switch to "on" on the switch panel so it could turn on (after 10 minutes of trying to figure out why it would not turn on) I was planning on spending 4 nights at this hotel, but ended up checking out early. It seemed as if the people in the room next to me (literally on the other side of the wall adjacent to the bed) never stopped smoking and I heard more than one person expressing their unpleasantries to the reception desk employees on more than one occasion. Overall, I would say it is fine if you are traveling solo and spending a night or two. Would not recommend for families or if you are planning on spending more than 2 nights.

My friends and I were staying in London for the weekend on holiday, and we thought the hotel was lovely at first. After one night, we were awoken early in the morning to hours of construction that we weren't told about when we made the reservation. Then, we nearly called the police after hearing screams for help from the neighboring room. After calling reception twice, no one helped us and we left two days early. So, after hours of construction and screams for help that prompted us to call the police, the manager and staff told us nothing was going on even after we begged to go investigate the situation. I suppose you should go to this hotel if you want to fear for your life and then be gaslit by the entire staff. Cheers! P.S. we were promised a refund and after countless calls and e-mails have heard nothing. So, we will continue to leave as many reviews as it takes until we are answered! Xoxo.
