A step above the typical small town hotel. I was greeted by a friendly clerk who answered all my…read morequestions. My king size room was clean and spacious, I appreciated having the extra floor space . . . I liked having a closet - so tired of the open hanging in so many hotels. There was no luggage rack in the closet, but there's a low table next to the desk that appears design for that purpose. There was a few odd aspects of my room - there's a nice spacious sitting area, but only one TV and it faces the bed. It would be good to have the TV pivot. More notably - it only has cable/broadcast television, but does not provide for streaming online services or mirroring of the television. For many traveler's like me, that's important. The biggest disappointment however was the lack of a fitness room. When I selected the hotel, the description claimed it has a fitness center. I was super excited to check into my room and then hop on a treadmill after a long day of driving. Turns out the fitness center is access to a gym several miles away. Needless to say I was disappointed. So mixed review - if you're looking for a clean, slightly above average place in Rapids and don't need on site fitness center, this is a good option. If you want to stream from your computer or work out without leaving the building, head on over to the Mead Inn.

Well, my experience was similar to most people's (lost reservations, maids left behind to deal with angry customers in the absence of an indifferent owner, general disillusionment, etc.) but in the end I had a positive experience. So how did that happen? Our group was able to find last-minute accommodations that night at the Hotel Mead which is also located in Wisconsin Rapids. The Mead features fabulous rooms that are reasonably priced, a pool, a full-service restaurant, two bars, and an outdoor patio serving drinks plus bar food. A live band played that night which rocked the house. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Bottom line: If it wasn't for inept owner of Maples, we would have never experienced the pleasure of The Mead and its superb staff. Therefore I give a back-handed tip-of-the-hat to Greg - owner of Maples. Thanks Greg!

It says it everywhere but online I told him it says I could get my refund back again he cut me off and kept yelling at me and yelling at me. I asked if I could have the number for the owner of the place and he said the number was on the window again I looked there was no number and he made a comment to me and I don't know what he was referring to I'm pretty sure it had something to do with drugs but again I don't like to assume. he said why don't you go and smoke another glass bubble... Wow completely unprofessional I told him I didn't even know what that meant and then when I came back to the office to see if he was calmed down he kept yelling at me and he was on the phone with the owner saying that she was on her way I tried talking to her on his phone with it and his hand but he kept again cutting me off when I tried telling her what was going on and saying that he's dealt with me before and I'm not allowed here that is a complete lie. I've never stayed here in my life so I don't know what's going on with this place but if the business owners would like to ever get a better name for this place they need to start with who's working in the office because it's not a good look everyone that is here looks like they are on some kind of hard drugs or alcohol and honestly look like they will steal anything that's not nailed down complete chaos.

The stains on the chair were horrible! I wouldn't let my cat sit on it, let alone paying customers. Stains on the bed linens, I was scared of bed bugs as well. The carpet felt like they had cleaned them and were damp. The shower looked like McGyver had installed the shower head. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone and the owners, managers and health department need to examine this hotel. I really felt like I threw the money that I spent on this experience out the window.

To start off the lady in the lobby last night said she didn't know what to do cause she was covering for her daughter who actually works there , she was very rude about my reservation & the hotel smelt like cigarettes everywhere. She cussed and was very unprofessional then walked away when I was trying to pull a paper up on my phone because she needed to go "check on her grandkids" , so after dealing with her interrupting cussing and being very rude I finally got a room, it was room 207! It looked like no one cleaned it before I came in, it was disgusting , everything was unplugged, shower curtain looked like someone murdered someone then tried to wash it off, looks like it's "ombré" when it's really just super nasty, I took it off and laid it on the bed so they'd notice, the bed had fresh NASTY spots on it, I called her to At least get me a new blanket because of the spots on the first one & she came up with a child maybe 7-8 years old and they "made" the bed together , it was a mess. I will add pictures , broken lamp, spots on bed , iron and blow dryer undone like someone just used them & toilet paper was almost empty! BUT TO TOP IT ALLLLL OFF , I WOKE UP COVERED IN BITES AFTER LAYING FOR 2 HOURS! There were so many bed bugs & I went and told the lady , well had to call her and wake her up because no one was at front desk she was asleep in a room, she came out & said "damn that's the 2nd room today" and explained how she couldn't get me another room till the next day. This room was so nasty and covered in cigarette smoke, cigarette ash all over the window seal, this room hasn't been cleaned in months & sad part is they probably rented it out right after I left. I have never had such a bad experience!! This was a $120 room. I'm itching typing this right now. 0 stars, trashy people and hotel. Just plain nasty. NEVER GO HERE!!!!! (Room 207 august 2021) oh also no elevator so you're expected to carry your huge luggage up 2 flights of stairs .

The lady there was nice but hard to understand so my wife actual never got the direction on where our room was at so she sent me in to find out and if it was 2nd floor ask for 1st floor and no go, no elevator but they had a cart which I guess helps get things to the stairs. The room had an odor which we assumed was because it hadn't been occupied for awhile. ( Air was off, fridge was unplugged) The room had a tiny bathroom with a tiny low toliet. Bed was soft but kind of hard to get in and out of - felt like we were climbing in. There was only one set of outlets on one side of the bed and the TV was a little odd. They had HDMI ports and USB positioned in the front giving you the idea you could use them; however, neither the remote nor the TV had input buttons or anywhere to change the settings so it really was disappointing. The plus was the air conditioning worked well, the cable had multiple HBOs and wifi worked but that's about it. I probably would not recommend this place if you're looking for any security or overall superior experience and I hate the saying, " you get what you paid for" but sadly this phrase sets pretty well here. Pros: wifi, A/C, multiple HBOs Cons: No proper security/front desk, room odor, lack of plug ins, bed to lumpy, TV /remote that doesn't allow for changing of HDMIs yet has the ports
