    Ticket and play program
    Elian Eduardo D.

Went here for a theatre play. It has actually a very nice theatre. You can see the stage well, and hear all the words clearly. It is not a huge hall, but it is cozy and comfortable and it allows for an immersion in the play. I was a bit worried about the parking before going, because from the outside it doesn't look like much, but they actually have a $5 valet parking and works wonders. The ticket booth is small and right besides the entrance to the theatre, and it moves fast enough... you can get the tickets on Internet and pick them up there. The play was really good and fun. In all, I expect to come back for future presentations

As I get ready to write this review, I just realized, I had been coming to the history Miami Museum for a long time. From one of my first fourth grade field trips to their educational boat cruises around the bay presented by museum lecturer Dr. Paul George. However, this most recent visit was thanks to Farah and Yelp's invite for the "Waves of Change" exhibit opening night. This exhibit focused on Miami's history as a fashion capital especially when it came to beachwear. I had the chance to see the different historical eras, and see some models showing them. There was also an interactive station where people could come up with their own designs. On the note of the more things change the more they stay the same, there was a poster telling how Carl Fisher (the founder of Miami Beach) would send pictures of the beautiful Miami ladies in swimsuits to investors up north so they could come to Miami. So basically 1920s / 30s Thirst traps :) Some other notable exhibits included Polaroids of the Liberty City area, as well as general Miami scenery. The free drinks by Bacaradi (Coconut, Mango Chile & classic) made for a perfect happy hour vibe; of the passed bites, my favorites were the Thai chicken & the Arancini. Thank You again Farah & Yelp Miami for this fun Friday!

It's beautiful architecture really makes you feel like you are part of historical Miami. And if you love all things Miami History, like me, this museum is just for you! Last time I was here was for the Walter Mercado exhibit which was amazing. We were also able to visit the other building which has more museum exhibits. This particular evening we came in through the courtesy of Yelp to the grand opening of the Waves of Style Swimwear through the Decades opening night event. The event had a drinks and passed bites and allowed you the opportunity to enter the museum and see the new exhibit on the second floor. A fantastic evening was had with my Yelp squad and the event was so much fun. A wonderful way to spend a night in Miami immersed in history and fun. I definitely want to become a museum member and purchase a membership.

Mostly…read morebecause when you're local the mentality is, "why pay to see a fancy house? you can drive by coral gables or south beach and see them for free". I will say, the grounds are absolutely delightful, especially if you go in the Springtime as we did where flowers are all in full bloom, that alone is worth the ticket price. The architecture is exquisite! A feast for the eyes in so many ways. When we came to visit, they were doing renovations. You could see the water damage on the roof and walls, probably caused by one of the many Summer storms, because of that the tickets were at a discount that day but we were still able to appreciate the beauty of Viscaya. There are two cafe's. One in the garden of the main house, and another across the street where farm animals use to be kept. Surprisingly, the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The day we were there, a wedding was going to take place and there was a lot of commotion going on. Fancy tables being set up, fine china, crystal glasses, the whole works. We asked a security guard how much it costs to have a wedding reception there and he said: "Just to rent the space, no tables, no nothing, starting price is 100k". So if you have 100k lying around, and plan to get married soon, this could be an option for you. Jokes aside though; I'd definitely visit again.

From the moment you walk onto the property, you're surrounded by stunning architecture, beautiful landscaping, and so much history. The mansion itself is incredible, with each room offering something unique. The attention to detail in the design, the antiques, and the artwork really make it feel like you're walking through a piece of European history right in the middle of Miami. You can take your time exploring, and there's always something new to notice. The gardens were my favorite part. They're beautifully maintained, with fountains, statues, and pathways that make it fun to just wander around and take everything in. Plus, the views along Biscayne Bay are absolutely gorgeous and add such a peaceful vibe to the whole experience. It's the perfect place if you're looking for something different from the typical Miami attractions. Whether you're into history, photography, or just want a relaxing place to explore, this is definitely worth the visit. I would absolutely recommend adding it to your list! Wow, this little museum blew me away…read more CBS4 recently interviewed a member of the 2506 Brigade and after viewing the segment I knew I had to visit. It is free and you can plan to spend 1-2 hours there. I parked in the lot next to the museum which apparently is not theirs but the docent gave me a parking pass, otherwise there is street parking. The building was purchased by one of the brigade members in the 80's when the property foreclosed. They will be closing in December 2023 for a major renovation and upgrade. Currently there are only 2 rooms to the museum, a large library area as you enter and the room that houses all the artifacts. There are walls of pictures, in the center those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the conflict and on the side walls, those who have passed since. The docent, Julio, as well as another employee spent a lot of time with me individually telling me about the museum, some of the veterans as well as the chronology of the conflict. I learned more during my visit than I had in school. There were 2 of the veterans at the museum during my visit. They show a 20 minute excerpt of the documentary 'Veritas' which shows interviews with brigade members. I recommend visiting the Bay of Pigs museum, and I look forward to visiting once the renovations and upgrades are complete.

It's a free museum that wants its guests to learn what really happened to the American soldiers that were there in 1961. If one walks in, they could glance around and leave in a few minutes without being impressed. However, we received a guided tour, and we were almost late for our next tour because we were so interested in what we were learning that we could have stayed longer. My oldest son is a freshman in college, and my twin sons are juniors in high school. Along with my wife and I learned so much in an hour and a half, it was incredible. The tour took us around the back room using the numerous pictures to fill in the stories that were being shared. The day we were there, there were three gentlemen at the museum who participated in the invasion. We heard their first hand accounts of what they encountered leading up to the invasion what happened when they were captured by Castro (plus their feelings on why they thought they were captured) and what happened in captivity plus their life afterwards. We even saw some of their pictures of these men while they were prisoners. This museum is a place to learn history that isn't taught anywhere by people who were there. It is a free couple of hours that I will remember for probably the rest of my life. Anyone in Miami with an interest in our military or history needs to go here for an hour or two. There is free parking on the side of the museum in an open grass lot. Next time my family is in Miami, we will go here again just to thank these guys for their service to our country another time. More people need to know about this place!!!!
