It may be fairly small but this nightclub has it own group of fans, and quite often is full, mostly with locals intent on having a good night. There is also a bar right next door that is good for pre club meeting place with friends so an extra bonus there! I have been quite a lot in the past and few times more recently and always found i've had a good night out with my friends, so it just goes to show that size isn't everything!

There are 2 bars inside, and drink prices start from just £1. There is a main bar and a smaller one, they both sell the same drinks but the smaller one is always easier to get served at, don't ask me why. Next to the second bar is a seating area which i great if you want a rest from all the dancing you will be doing. There is also some private seating near the first bar which can seat 12 people, and there are 3 tables. If you want somewhere a bit more quite to sit there are some benches to the left of the main bar which leads to an outside smoking area. The dance floor is where it all happens, and this is located in-front of the main bar. Its a big dance floor with plenty of space for everyone. The DJ plays a great variety of music from chart toppers to old dance classics. The place gets quite packed so be prepared for 3 am , when the club shuts after the last song and everyone is trying to leave. Its a great night out with you mates if your on a budget, so go out and have fun.

There are areas for dancing, standing around (if your not a dancer) and also areas that you can sit down where it is quieter and have drink and a chat. I think the main focus of jesters is navy men and drink, there is no character to the place and you certainly would not be looking for your lifetime partner in here. the music is fairly good, with most up to date chart music being played. drinks are ok but the weekend evenings see the prices very expensive for the venue in my opinion. I think the main thing i don't like about this is the seedyness of the place - it seems to be a bit rough and i have felt intimidated being here at times.overall would probably not go here too often.

I'm a bit confused about the name of this place as there were lots of references to Isobar is dead…read morearound the outside.it did used to be called Isobar, so I guess this might be their slightly confusing way of telling us that the name has changed. It feels odd to rate this place quite so highly, as there was so much about the venue that I didn't particularly like. They served only 2 kinds of lager (Carlsberg and Carlsberg Exportwhat a choice!). The music really wasn't my scene either. But in the end I just had a great all round night and spent quite a while here. What made it particularly great was the art exhibition in the bar downstairs. I am not used to seeing this kind of thing in a pub/cluband am a bit of a heathen, with no culture to speak of, so wouldn't generally like it anyway. I do have a bit of a dark side however and the exhibition was vampires and the undead (and batman!) and appealed to me. Although the music wasn't that great the sound in the club upstairs really emphasized the beat, making everything easier to dance to (and as it is the only club in townI think.the age range of the dancers must have been 18-60 odd!). From a drinks perspective I discovered a bottled strawberry cider, which was quite refreshing too.

You then go through to a room which is mostly large dance floor with a DJ box, seating area at one side and bar at the other. There are several sets of stairs up to the next floor, and this floor is also divided into two rooms. There is a room with a bar, further seating, pool tables and games consoles, and then the next room has a bar, DJ box and another largeish dance floor with more seating around this. There are more toilets up stairs. A good range of music is available due to the different floors and rooms, and there is plenty of space to sit and chat or have a drink as well. This is a club that is well attended and I have had to queue to get in on more than one occasion in the past, but it has always been well worth it!

They do try to keep with the times but I just don't think people go out clubbing as much as they used to. The music is downright awful sometimes, so predictable and cheesy. If I hear 'Place your Hands' in there one more time I will scream! I mean I'm all for supporting local acts but jeez when was the last time that Reef actually did anything?! They have taken to hiring Z list celebs to do PA's of late which is amusing, Darnell from BB9 being the latest one and I seem to remember Jason Donovan doing a stint a couple of years back (£2 entry on the door). There is a new club called The Office opening in November which promises to steal L2's crown I reckon.

The entrance fee is quite extortionate but they get away with it because there is nowhere else to go in the area. The drinks are also expensive and you won't get many drinks for your money. Probably the only good thing is the toilets which are surprisingly clean. And also the lollipops they give out when you are leaving! Beware though, there are no fast food shops open in St Austell when the club closes!
