They have live music every night of the week and a good selection of beers and spirits (sadly no lime for the G's+T's though). There's a pool table in the back and lounge/dance floor upstairs with DJ at the weekends and a fun atmosphere, once it warms-up! The lady's only has one toilet with sink and mirror behind the locking door, so queueing is garanteed; be sure to set off before you're desperate! I hear the gents is a bit cramped and stinky too.

The location helps, on a surprisingly quiet narrow side street parallel to the main shopping hill. Beer is from Bays, Skinners or Otter, which is the kind of line up Man City wish they had! Went for the Otter and had a very good pint. There is a large selection of wines too, so something for everyone I think. My favourite pub in Penzance so far (I have lots more to visit I know!).

The catch of the day, which was cod and fell apart to touch. Finally, the steak which was large but a little too firm for the wife's liking. However, the star of the show was the best chips in Penzance (I know, CHIPS), triple cooked or dipped in liquid of the gods, I don't know how they are doing it but my wife had the take my fork away. The range of beers is so-so, but it was the only time in Cornwall that I found an ale by my favourite brewery, Fullers of London (London Pride) - many pubs in the area are owned by or affiliated with St. Austell Brewery. The pub is of medium-size, with enough corners so you won't be disturbed when it gets busier. There is no outside seating area to the front, which is a bit of a shame considering the location. The beers are kept in good shape, and food also looked decent (I didn't eat there myself). The staff are down-to-earth and friendly and the décor, with its log timber ceiling, quite appealing. Beer prices aren't low, but they aren't anywhere else except at Spoons.

Please rest assured, services will be as usual pub regimes if you just drink but don't have meal. The Turks Head is said to be the oldest pub & restaurant in Penzance and Cornwall and attacts a great number of barflies and tourists hence it's pretty busy. The garden at the back is a must in summer although I sat there in the rain for a while. Reservation is recommended for a smooth evening. Good selection of real ales, fantastic food, prompt service and interesting decorationyeah, lots of old stuff - it's been there since 1233, what do you expect? The food came hot and fast. I got the chicken in the rough with salad and fries. The "salad" was cabbage. Yuck. The rest of it was really good. The mead is also on point, but VERY sweet. Everyone at the table got a different type, so I was able to sample a lot. We arrived right as they opened. It was packed right from the start, so make reservations. Our server appeared to be run off her feet because we rarely saw her. She wrote on the check "service fee is not included." I've never seen that in England before. I am not sure if they were expecting a tip because we're American or what.

There is often pipe music or something similar playing quietly in the background, which is also nice for setting the mood. The food is served on wooden plates and bowls, and no cutlery is given unless your meal type requires it or you actually request it. The waitresses are dressed as serving wenches and you wash your hands between courses using little wooden bowls of water with a piece of lemon floating in them! The signature dish is called chicken in the rough, which is half a chicken cooked in a special oven with gorgeous crispy skin. It is served with chips although you can pick salad or half and half if you want as well. There is a great choice on the menu of starters, mains and desserts and the food is lovely. Although this is 30 mins or so drive from us my dad still prefers to go there than any of the closer ones!

There are 2 TVs at the front of the bar, but you can't see either of them from 80% of the tablesso where is the point in that?
