I've used these guys for knife sharpening for years and they're always quick, efficient, reasonably priced, and the quality of the work is excellent. Thought I'd carve out some time for this review. Needed our knives sharp because they were not cutting it. After far too long, I finally looked up local knife sharpening places and this place seemed like a good choice, easy to get to/park. The front of the store is a chef supply kinda deal, but I was greeted right away by two women at the desk and they checked out my knives and put them in a bin - they said it'd be barely a 24 hour turnaround time, great! Went the next day to pick up these new sharp babies and so far it's clearly made a difference - any way you slice it. read more

Seemed like nice people when I was in the store but don't bother calling them and leaving them a voicemail because they will not return your call. All right, shall I continue? For starters, the Tanto knife I brought in was returned completely dull. It appeared that they spent around 5 to 10 minutes working on it and with very little difference.. , the purpose of bringing a knife was to get it sharpened because I am terrible at sharpening knives. Secondly, the outdoor knife was new and already reasonably sharp, but I wanted it to be a bit sharper. However, when it was returned, it actually looked like they hadn't done anything to it. This whole experience has been quite frustrating. It will be even more aggravating if they respond by saying they are sorry and suggesting that I come back to fix the issue. I don't want to interrupt my busy schedule and waste money on gas just to make things right, especially when they should have done it correctly the first time. This response does not ease my frustration; it only makes me angrier. read more

These guys are awesome, great customer service. It's like a kid going into a candy store for a chef, every time I go in I come out with something else to add to my tools for either work or a t home. The will sell you the most expensive knife if you want or they will also talk to you about what knife you like to use for what items? We all know that most professional chefs and many home chefs gravitate to one or two knives usually. They will not sell you something you don't need and they can usually make you a great deal on some really good knives and some great toys. read more

I would only get my kitchen knives sharpened here. Brought my camp knife in and asked them to put a Scandinavian grind on my camping knife(like my old mora kniv) and every guy at the counter said I didn't need to do that and the convex grind on my knife should be good. 5 camping trips later and it struggles to cut paracord. The factory edge held longer and that's pathetic. Will come back for my kitchen knives but go somewhere else for specialty knives. read more

The service here is absolutely superb. I got my Shun and Global knives sharpened here and they did a great job, only $4 per knife. They have special packages if you have 10 or more knives. They're also a restaurant supply store with lots of fun goodies, even if you're just a home cook! read more

Location has moved from Hampden, now at 11 N. Kalamath St. We had knives to sharpen, as my wife is not happen with my way of sharpening our knives. Checked around at other places, where prices were higher, time for completion was a week to 14 days, but Not at Knife Guys. They promised in a day and a half, and the knifes are SOOO sharp. Darryl (owner) sharpened 3 of my knives, causing significant damage to them all. On each blade, there is a large section where the steel is scratched and abraded, with one blade having scratches along the entire edge. It literally looked like they dropped it in a disposal. They showed zero respect for three beautiful Japanese blades. Pics are attached. They offered me no compensation, sympathy or solutions. He actually said I should expect this damage. I honestly think he was drinking when he sharpened it, was definitely drinking when I tried to discuss my concerns. Horrible customer service, immature behavior and absolute amateurs in the industry. He literally asked me what I expected for a $3 sharpening job. I don't set his prices, neither do you. Unless you want your $300 knife to look like a $3 tool and be treated like a screwdriver, go somewhere else or sharpen it yourself. read more

I purchased a scale here for $39. When I called to inquire about the return policy, I was told that as long as I had the receipt and the item was unused and unopened (which it was) I could return it. When I returned to the store, I was told that he forgot to mention there was a 15% restocking fee. I pointed out that I had purchased the item less than a half hour before and the shelf where it needed to be restocked was less than 5 feet away and I could restock it myself. In fairness, the sign may have been on the counter when I made the purchase, but such a lack of flexibility and the failure to mention the fee on the phone and then holding to it once I got there was unimpressive. All of this was on top of the fact that I had taken my knives there to be sharpened and was treated to an unsolicited lecture about how my knives were pitting and cracking and that they no longer carry them because they're the worst of their kind. Took in a block of old Sabatier knives that are about 20 years old to get sharpened, including the kitchen shears. THE BEST!!! These knives are better now than when first bought. Turn around time was only one day and the price is very reasonable. These guys are incredible. Rick read more

Only place I know that has MAC knives in Denver. I have not had it sharpened yet but they have good prices for sharpening. I'm not in the food industry so I can't say anything about the other items they carry. read more

I've been taking my knives to The Knife Guys for almost 20 years. It all started when I found their mobile service "Rolling Stone Knife Sharpening" and ever since they moved into their retail store. I have always received excellent service and of course the sharpest knives. I've tried a couple of other knife sharpening services but none come close to the price & service you get from The Knife Guys. In my opinion this is the only place to go. While you're in the store look around for other kitchen items you may need. They have an excellent selection not only for restaurants but also for home use and their prices are very reasonable. Now that they have become so popular be prepared to leave your knives for the day or over night for sharpening. No worries it's worth the wait. read more

I love a sharp knife and usually take them to the Farmer's market but in the winter I never know what to do. I found The Knife Guys and I'm really pleased with the quality and 1-day turnaround. I took my Henckels kitchen knives in and got them back the next day nice and sharp. It was about $4 per knife for my batch (pricing dependent on size) and worth it to me because I can actually cut my tomatoes without mushing them. They even gave me some nice cardboard sheaths to transport my knives in the next time. read more

I took a set of Cutco& Wusthof knives and 4 pairs of scissors to this business and they destroyed them all. I just took the scissors to a different person who did a fabulous job and pointed out the my Cutco scissors would not be able to be sharpened again. If this was the only knife sharpening Busisness on the planet, I would by the equipment to sharpen my knives rather than let them touch them again. read more

They are the best knife sharpeners I've every used, and quite possibly the best in the city. And the prices are fantastic. Since we discovered them a few years ago, I now get my knives done every six months or so (for a home kitchen, that's usually enough). They also have some very nice kitchen supplies, but those are mostly geared towards restaurants. If you haven't had your knives professionally sharpened before, give them a try. The staff are very knowledgeable about their products and how to care for them. Went in super frustrated after trying to make do in the kitchen with the crappy knife selection. The sweet young man at the counter was extremely helpful and we found the perfect knife that suited my needs and was in my price range. I got the knife home and am THRILLED with my purchase. Nice friendly staff, fast turnaround. These guys do a credible job on soft Solingen steel, though at $3 a knife, I don't expect a mirror finish, just a sharp, durable edge. I wouldn't take my Japanese knives here, though. read more
