Located just off Llandudno Road in Penrhyn Bay, this fish & chip shop offers the usual fare with some extra's. Fish & chips were fabulous, large cod and a normal portion of chips, with peas. Very filling, with no greasy after taste which you sometimes have with your average chippy. Staff are very friendly and helpful, I was even offered a slice of fresh lemon for the fish!

I find myself throwing more away than eating. I don't know if they've changed potatoes, or there's something changed with the oil. My most recent bag of chips actually had a distinct taste of fish. The restaurant waiting room had beautiful decoration and was extremely well kept. All surfaces were clean and clearly cared for and looked after. This is obviously a business that is proud of what they are and how they serve their food, and it absolutely shows in the way they provide their hospitality. The authentic atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing, and it was really nice to see who I assume is a family working together to keep their company thriving! "Dave's Chippy" used to be the place to go for fish & chips, then it was run by "Tony & Eve" who really lowered the standards. Now a young couple have taken over, and "Barton's" DO provide traditional Fish & Chips, plus a lot more. The Traditional chippy still exists, and the quality is the same that we had before this young couple were even born! However they offer so much more than a "Traditional Chippy". Their Chicken Curry is unbelievably good. Unbelievably good value too. The cafe is often full of regulars too (they often recommend the breakfasts) - so that in itself suggests that this place is doing every thing right. Glad to see this place is getting better every day - great "Nautical Theme" in the cafe.
