I always went to Les & Rita's because it was a safe bet, the food was always fresh and well prepared so I knew I wouldn't be left disappointed. I no longer work in Rhyl but from time to time we pop into Rhyl for a change of scene and often head to Les & Rita's for lunch in the sit-down area. If you believe that a visit to a traditional seaside resort isn't complete without sitting down to a traditional fish and chip meal then the 'special' which comprises fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter plus a pot of tea for £4.75 is a no-brainer. Good quality fresh food, friendly and quick service and all at a reasonable price. You can't go wrong here. One other useful addition to the menu is the kids 'meal in a box' which includes lunch, a drink, a lollipop and a toy. If you've got kids who can't see beyond a McDonald's happy meal this is an option that should keep them happy. My daughter recently polished off a helping of chicken nuggets and chips and commented that it was just like going to McDonalds except the chips were much nicer and you got more of them which sums it up quite nicely.

However, on a nice evening, we decided we'd buy something for tea then drive round to the car park on the beach to eat chips whilst watching the sunset over Anglesey. That plan didn't quite work out as planned, mainly as we arrived a couple of hours too early for sunset and in any case the blue skies suddenly turned hazy.As for the food? The chips were very good, properly cut and well cooked. The curry sauce was proper chip sauce curry and very nice too. The pie was a Pukka, the only criticism was maybe it had been on the hotplate a little too long so the crust was a bit hard. The fish was cooked to order and was a generous portion but a tad too greasy, although still perfectly edible. I don't think this is the best chippy food we've ever had, I don't think it's the best we've ever had in Llandudno, but there nothing too wrong with it and I'm sure another visit will be on the cards one day.

The haddock comes with the skin on one side, if that matters. My son had cod. I had haddock. Both were great and the crispiest fish & chips we've had on our trip. The chips (fries) are good, but don't come salted. There is salt, pepper, mayo, and ketchup on the table. I've hard better tarter sauce, but their sauce was good enough. Just occurred to me, I forgot the vinegar, so I can't comment on that. I also got the peas, which came mashed. Portions are generous. I must say they make deep fried cod and potato pretty well. I was told to order with vinegar and salt and they were right. Vinegar and salt enhanced deep fries. Service was friendly and price is just right. Still reasonable in this high inflation time. Regular order size is plenty big. I thought I couldn't finish my lunch. They didn't offer any napkins and I don't know how people clean their hands after eating greasy food by hand. Overall it was a good experience.

It's succulent, fresh, and melts in your mouth after the initial clean crunch. What makes this Fish N' Chips great is there isn't much added except for the basic natural ingredients, it's the way it's handled and prepared that makes it stand out. This alone will warrant a trip back to Conwy. One side note is that it's priced to be enjoyed by all not just those with heavy pounds in their pocket.

Love the rustic charm of the place , the old tables and it just felt like old Wales should and not one of the plastic and designer fish and chippys like the Fishermans chip shop. The only thing that let it down was the toilets , no soap in the dispenser and water or urine all over the floor; unfortunately some people/customers are clearly disgusting and have no manners but the staff should regularly check the toilets like any food place. Also the salt cellars all had that moisture ingress that always happens when you leave it out in the moist air so nothing would come out of the spout so we had to manually howk it out with a knife and a dish with Tartare sauce would have been a nice addition to the condiments but you cant have everything at this price which was also very reasonable! This is the best chippy in Conwy without a doubt if you want true Welsh flavour and authenticity and dont want to sit in an antiseptic and clinical environment, very friendly indeed and the fish was tasty and chips were done well - Only loses a point for the toilets and the condiments and for slipping on the stairs as I came out from the toilets and nearly did myself a mischief!
