"This is awesome," "these guys are amazing," "this is way better than a DJ or band," stated others in my family and wedding group that night and in conversation still to this day 5 months later. Ryan and Donny are incredible musicians and performers. They delivered an act that catered to every background: young and old, local and from afar, those who prefer rock, those who prefer country, those who prefer pop, and those who prefer classics. They were interactive with the crowd, were able to build and sustain the energy on the dance floor, and were able to fulfill requests and fill in the playlist when requests didn't come in. Ryan was by far the best vendor we worked with. We first got in contact with Ryan in 2019 planning for a June 2020 wedding. As with many, the pandemic resulted in us ultimately delaying our wedding reception by three years. He stayed in touch throughout the whole period, did not seek an increase in the price even after the many years, and offered that our deposit could be returned in full if we ultimately did have to cancel the wedding. The price of the wedding package is incredible, even before you experience how amazing Ryan and each of his team are, and the full arrangement of what they provide. You essentially get the entire concert experience with the Killer Dueling Pianos: rockstar musicians, pianos and more (in our case Ryan on the guitar and Donny on the trumpet), lights and props. The team also provided the PA system, music, and microphone for the wedding reception rounding out the complete wedding package. Ryan and Donny also helped guide my wife and I as we were lost in figuring out the music and program. Dueling piano bars have ALWAYS been my thing, so when I began planning my own wedding, I knew I had to have them. My fiancé and I started our search by showing up at dueling piano performances at different bars and venues. When we experienced The Killer Dueling Pianos in action, we knew they were the ones for us. Ryan and Donnie absolutely killed it. From the start they have been extremely easy to work with. They took the time DURING A BREAK FROM THEIR SHOW to sit down with us and get to know us. They were extremely receptive to our vision and assured us they'd make our wedding entertainment memorable. They did not disappoint. They are truly one-stop-shopping for your wedding entertainment. They had our ceremony area set up with speakers and our song playlist, and provided a mic for our officiant. They seamlessly transitioned into our reception area after the ceremony. They did all of our bridal party introductions and first dances. When their piano music began, everyone was on their feet on the dance floor. They rocked it. Ryan pulled out his guitar for a few songs which was also amazing. They did a wonderful job of playing our previously requested songs, as well as guests' requests. At one point I went up to Donnie and said "I have to pee! We hired them to perform as DJs at our wedding and they did not disappoint! We wanted something unique and live instead of the normal DJ set, so when the Killer Dueling pianos were on a recommendation list for our wedding venue at the Brownstone Gardens, we immediately gave them a call, or email as it were. Ryan was always responsive, and we kept in constant contact with him for almost an entire year. I think the hardest part about hiring them was choosing which songs to play during our reception. They took care of everything and were a big hit with our friends and family. They were able to mic me up for the wedding ceremony when we said our vows, they came in super early to setup both pianos and lighting, and coordinated with our day-of wedding planner to make sure their setup was safe and in a logical place to get the party going. They were always professional and courteous throughout the night. I'm sure there were a lot of logistics there that they figured out that we had no idea about, but just having to not worry about them on what is an already stressful day for the bride and groom was worth their weight in gold tenfold. We are so lucky to have them at our wedding. Our wedding was a little different because we had a bride-groom trivia game while guests were queueing up at the buffet lines, a quick football skit during the bridal party introductions, a traditional filipino dance group performance, and an anniversary dance in our program. All of these were handled with aplomb by the Killer Dueling Pianos without skipping a beat. And I haven't even talked about their musical talents yet. One thing about weddings that my wifey and I noticed that we wanted to avoid was the lull or general uninterest that some guests have when it comes to the dance floor. Don't worry about that with these guys. They will get you to dance, or cheer, or holler, or at the least tap your feet when seated. There's props and other instruments involved, it's a whole production. In between the awesome requested music by our guests (lol the Banana Boat Song Day-O by Harry Belafonte who requested that?), there was the addictive 'Sweet Caroline' to cheer out to, the wedding anthems of Bruno Mars, and the epic ballad of Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin'; complete with Ryan playing solo on guitar! Near the end of the night, we'll never forget singing 'Stand By Me' at the top or our lungs. Overall, there were all these small really fun things they did right over and over again, that cumulated into one of the best night of our lives. This might be very lengthy for a review, but to sum up what The Killer Dueling Pianos did for us in a paragraph would be an incredible disservice. And if you're still having doubts from the point of view of one guy, ask the other 200 guests that were there. I'm sure they'll agree with me. They crushed it. I hired Ryan for our Holiday Party last year (Dec 2014), and they were a HIT! Bottom line is that we've done everything.... DJ's, and bands, you name it, and found that it took A LOT of alcohol (which isn't always a good thing) for anyone to get up and dance at a COMPANY function. I wanted to have and event that was "crowd engaging" so I started researching other forms of entertainment and found him. We had our function at an Auto Museum (I work for Toyota Racing Development - NASCAR, and Racing is our main focus), and the way I organized the room was not a formal setting. It was a cocktail and heavy hors-d'oeuvres style party (buffet style and tray passed) we had some sitting tables, and some cocktail "high boy" tables and I centered them in the middle of the room on a stage. Worked out perfect. Those who were standing sang along and those sitting down, sang along. I love the fact that he played music that catered to every guest. Some oldies, some new, some soul, some rap, rock you name it - he's got it covered. I also had some songs and a script he used to "roast" management which was fun for the employees and guests. Some of us got up on stage with him and sang while he and his partner played. They brought great energy to our party, they have great voices, and fun props for the guests too. Oddly enough, mid-way through the party after our awards were given out, everyone was up dancing and singing Bottom line, you can't go wrong booking them. The only thing to keep in mind is these guys come to have fun, it's not for a "quiet" or mello evening...unless you specify that's what you want, I'm sure he'd make it happen for ya.
