Our last visit…read morewith Dr. Alfonso we went in for a cleaning and were told two out of 3 of my children have cavities and required caps because the cavity was in between the teeth. I instantly felt like something was not right. We go in every 6 months and have never heard anything before there was no "watch" on the teeth or any insight into how this could have happened other than it's common. No questions about the foods we eat or discussion on how to prevent more in the future. It was which cap do you want and when are you coming back. By the way each cap is over $500. So I decided to get a second opinion. We went to Dominion Pediatric Dentistry and they were amazing! They talked to us about changing out our gummy vitamins because that can cause cavities! They retook X-rays at no charge and couldn't find any cavities. We have a watch on one spot but nothing as bad as requiring a cap. She even spoke to us about a few options to do before a cap that are less invasive. I felt so much better and we will be going to Dominion Pediatric Dentistry going forward!

Everyone from the front desk, to the assistants and to Dr. Oliver are always willing to explain or answer any questions you may have. It is a very positive experience from the evaluation, through beginning orthodontics and continuing on throughout the treatment process. I am recommending Oliver Family Orthodontics to anyone who wants to get quality care and individualized treatment! My grandson, almost 13 at that time, got his own plan for orthodontal treatment started in July 2018 and his treatment plan is expected to be finished later in 2020 this year. We have had only positive experiences throughout this time! To be transparent, two of my own older children received orthodontics treatment as youths; one in another state and one in another town in Texas. We had excellent complete treatment experiences with our selected practices and Oliver Family Orthodontics provides the same excellent services! I am so glad I researched and chose this thorough treatment practice.

My oldest has never had a bad experience, and never minds going to the dentist. 4 year old son had a kinda rough 1st visit this year, but Dr. Doose made it as easy as possible to make sure my son didn't get too scared. Dr. Doose was able to examine my 4 year olds teeth in a way that was not too frighting for him. After a couple of days my 4 year stated "Daddy when can we go back to the dentist I won't cry anymore". A few years ago my oldest son fell on a escalator busted his mouth real bad and lost a tooth. The very next day Dr. Doose was able to examine him; thank God no serious damage was incurred. Overall I think that Dr. Doose and his staff at Thousand Oaks Children's Dentistry definitely gets a 5 star rating. So call and make your child's appointment soon.

I was called and told by the receptionist that my kids were due for their checkup. I should have checked my calendar cause it didn't seem like it had been 6 months already, so I asked if it had, and she said yes, they were on the list. I asked her to see if there was availability for both of my kids at the same time. She gave me a date of 2 days later, first thing in the morning. We arrived with 4 other families, all there for the same time slot when there's only 2 doctors. I waited 20 minutes and noticed the 2 front office people looking at some information and going back and forth, then they called me up. I was told they made a mistake and it was too early for my kids' checkups. They weren't due for another month. We have to drive about 25 minutes to get to Kids World Pediatric Dentistry. It was a weekday morning; I'm missing meetings, my kids were missing testing, all to take a long drive and be told they weren't going to be seen because they didn't do their do diligence and check insurance information prior to appointments. She gave me a very ungenuine apology. Needless to say, I was very frustrated. I calmly but sternly let her know we wouldn't be retuning. Dr. Torres and the office manager should review their front of the office processes and training. Also, take into consideration other people's schedules. Maybe not set up 5 appointments all at the same time slot, just to keep 3 of those waiting unnecessarily.
