This is my fifth time coming here and I've had a great experience each time. I was able to schedule an in house teeth whitening for $100 off with one of the promos. I came here because my Good friend Katie has been coming here for years! She had nothing but great things to say about Lee Dental! I really like how well they talk me through my appointment and give me options that I can take. I was also able to make an appointment extremely fast and I didn't have to wait for months in advance. This place is a great location since I live in Boerne and also easy to get to. Overall, I am very pleased with coming here and I have referred a lot of my co workers to come too! read more

Lee Dental Centers - Waiting room - Orthodontists Near Me - Leon Springs, Texas

Calling to make an appointment was interesting. I guess they have a call center person that answers for all offices, but for some reason doesn't answer the phone after 3pm even though it says their offices close at 5pm. I've tried calling twice after 3pm and no one answers. I also got about 5 reminders of my appointment leading up to the actual visit. When I walked in, there's a clipboard that says to sign in, so I did that while the girl behind the desk sees me writing my name down. 10 minutes go by without her acknowledging that I signed the clipboard. Not to mention, another patient walks in and another front desk person says "you don't have to sign in, I'll just check you in myself". So I stand in line after them and when it was my turn, I say "I signed in on the clipboard but it doesn't seem like anyone is checking that". She asks me for my name and checks me in. I get called back shortly and Debbie sees that I'm pregnant and says "you're pregnant?" ... so I made this very clear when I called to make the appointment, as well as when I called to confirm the appointment. I also wrote in the online questionnaire about a month in advance. I'm guessing they don't read that because Debbie was surprised. She then asked me if I had medical clearance from my doctor. So I told her, "I was never told I needed anything from my doctor when I called to make my appointment and told them I was pregnant. Also when I filled out the questionnaire, no one called to tell me I needed this. It would've been nice to know since I was at my doctor's office this morning." I ended up sitting in the office for over an hour and ended up not having any work done at all. They kept me waiting until i decided I would just come back for my cleaning and filling. Then Debbie said "your doctor said it'll take up to 24 hours to get the form back". Then why am I still waiting here if you knew that? I'm wondering how long they would've kept me if I kept sitting there without saying anything. When I finally came back for my actual cleaning and made appointments for my family, they will bill EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN. They didn't even touch my one year old daughter's mouth, and even after insurance, I still had to pay almost $100 for them to just look at her for 2 mins. I understand children can be difficult, but when I got the bill and saw every little thing they billed, I will not be back. read more

I had been a patient of Lee Dental Center for years. I had a terrible experience two and a half years ago. At one of my check-ups a cavity on a molar was missed on my x-rays, which I found out a few months later when the top of my tooth chipped off. I asked how it could've been missed. I was told the film was folded, it wasn't detected and mistakes happen. Really? Shouldn't x-rays be examined very, very closely? Obviously the cavity continued to grow until the small chip came off the top of the tooth, and then pain ensued. I was alarmed when I looked at the tooth and could see black inside that chip. This was on a weekend. I called the after hours emergency phone number, wanting advice on how to care for the tooth. The phone number was not working. When I did get in on Monday, I was told the cavity was too deep to be filled and a root canal would have to be done. I asked my dentist to please try and fill the cavity to save me from a root canal. That was done, but the pain returned shortly after. I did have to undergo a root canal. Sadly, the root canal failed. Apparently, my roots were too calcified for the procedure to be completed. I was then told I'd immediately have to undergo an emergency extraction of the tooth, as I would be in extreme pain when the numbing injections wore off. This was on a Friday afternoon, around 3pm. All the dentists in the office were gone for the weekend except one, Dr. Kothmann. I was told not many general dentists do extractions, so it was a bit of luck Dr. Kothmann was still there. All this was happening so fast, and after what I'd been through I was very scared and nervous. I had never seen Dr. Kothmann before and she was new to the practice. I must say, she was wonderful, extremely kind and caring. The extraction went well, but I had never lost a tooth before and being a senior citizen it was very alarming and concerning for me. I don't blame Dr. Kothmann, but Sunday morning I awoke to find a huge lump on the side of my neck, a couple of inches down from the extraction site. Dr. Kothmann did exam me on Sunday, and was concerned. She had never seen anything like this from an extraction. She advised I see my primary care doctor. He advised me to keep an eye on it. If it continued to grow or did not go down in a week or two, he advised an ultrasound. It did not go down. The ultrasound results were inconclusive, so I then had to have the lump biopsied. Thankfully, when the radiologist did the needle biopsy, it was a blood filled cyst. He didn't know if it was caused by the extraction, but possible since there was a lot of blood loss and it could've leaked into a neck pocket. The radiologist did tell me the pocket could fill up again. It did return a few months later, but absorbed on its own. This has been a very traumatic, not to mention very costly experience for me and my husband. I need a dental implant, but have not been able to get one. It is not covered by my Medicare plan and they are very costly. I would assume, after missing the cavity that caused all this my dentist at Lee would offer to take care of anything I needed, but no. She never called to check on me or even offer to pick up any of the cost for an implant or anything else. That alone is extremely hurtful. I had always trusted and recommended the practice, also mistakenly believed they cared about me and my wellbeing. That turned out not to be true. read more

Had a crown fall off and called to see if they could reset it and how much it would cost. I was told that they would have to do a full exam with x-rays basically so they could quantify charging $150 before resetting my crown. I miss the days when businesses didn't try to nickel and dime you to death with services that you didn't need and didn't require. Lee dental is the spirit airline of dentistry. read more

This place is like a Chick-fil-A when the manager is on duty and they're not slammed with customers. Great care and amazing service ... simply the best dentist we have EVER been to. Bar none. STAFF (5/5) - Everyone was friendly and caring. Their communication (from the front desk, to the x-ray tech, to the hygienist to the dentist) was over the top. CARE (5/5) - Let's be honest, when you're picking a dentist, you are looking for someone that will be sensitive, communicate well, and be careful about your mouth and teeth. No complaints here, they were professional and handled my visit with care from A to Z. CLEANLINESS (5/5) - This facility was pretty impressive. Clean, organized, professional. No complaints. MY EXPERIENCE (5/5) - I got in as a new patient (which they processed super quick, I was impressed), and they had me moving through x-rays and such quickly. I got a good bit into my initial exam when I realized that I had about 20 mins left before I had to pick kids up from the school. With all the care of someone running in a "don't spill from the cup" or "carry the egg" race, they kept their care at a 5/5, and moved me through the process. Helped me get out on time, and all the while I FELT CARED FOR WITH INTENTIONALITY BY A RESPECTFUL AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF. Well done team! I would recommend that anyone come here. read more

I wish I could leave no stars. My family has been patients for over 12 years and I have never been so upset as I am today. The practice apparently no longer takes my insurance and did not bother to notify me until the day of my appointment when I walked through the door. They also informed me at that time that the dental hygienist that my appointment was with is not available and asked if I like to see someone else which I would not. They also now want me to pay $150 to have my teeth cleaned when that is covered under my insurance that they no longer take. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. If they cared enough to notify their patients in advance, I may have been able to change insurance companies, but I guess that is too much to ask. They have wasted my time and caused me to miss work, but I am sure I would be charged if I cancelled my appointment at the time of the appointment like they did to me. Extremely Unhappy!!!!! This location cancels your appointment whenever they feel like it. It is your problem to call and try to get rescheduled. They have parties at lunch, so be sure to go in the morning if you go here. You will need to sit in the waiting room with nobody at the desk otherwise. read more

Came here with my fiancé for an appointment to do two root canals. After we arrived and had filled out the paperwork, we were informed that the dentist was running an hour behind and that we had to choose to either reschedule or wait until the dentist was ready and do one root canal today and the second at another time. Very disappointing considering my fiancé has a ton of anxiety about dentists and was very anxious getting himself to the appointment in the first place. It was also very inconsiderate that they had waited to tell us after arriving early, filling out the paperwork and both had taken time off work to be here with the expectation that the appointment would go as scheduled. I feel that the least they could have done was give us proper notification especially considering their own cancellation policy with patients. When they finally took us back, Dr. Liang seemed very rushed and did not introduce himself upon walking in. My fiancé expressed how he felt anxious and explained which tooth he would prefer to start with to try and get over his anxiety about the whole situation. Dr. Liang appeared to be frustrated by my fiancés request and had made a couple of side comments about wanting to work on the other tooth. I had also noticed when we were getting set up for the procedure, the assistant repositioned and handed some of the equipment to the dentist WITHOUT wearing gloves. Ultimately, we were unable to complete the procedure and figured it best to reschedule, though I do not know if we plan to come back here after the experience today. I really hate writing bad reviews but after our experience today I really feel that others should also know about how our appointment went. As a medical professional myself, I completely understand being short on time but to be so rushed that you are unable to introduce yourself and build rapport with a patient, to make side comments about a patients choice in their care and to NOT wear gloves when handling equipment for a medical procedure is unacceptable. read more

For many years my wife avoided smiling, but that changed after Dr. Powell fixed her teeth. Since childhood when her front teeth were knocked out in an accident, my wife has had many bridges and false front teeth, but they were never quite right. They never felt comfortable in her mouth. We just recently relocated to the area and Lee Dental At Leon Springs was the only practice out of 4 that I called that answered the phone right away and they had no problem giving us all a new patient appointment within the week. Now that is what I call service! As of today the other 3 practices I called initially had not call me back. Lee Dental earned 4 new clients The offices in Leon Springs are nice and clean. The practice is really big, if you for any reason don't like somebody you could easily change. Not our case as we all love the hygienists and Dr Powell....she is caring, courteous and very knowledgeable The other plus is that is a one-stop shop as they offer surgeon and orthodontist services as well Highly recommend Lee Dentist read more

I was extremely disappointed with my visit to Lee Dental Centers. I've gotten my teeth cleaned plenty of times before and they by far did the worst job. There is clearly still surface level plaque on my teeth that they failed to get off which should be done in a basic cleaning and I do not have a lot of plaque...I have pretty good dental hygiene. Then they told me when I was there that I would also need a cleaning under the gums that would be $600 which was fine I was planning on coming back later to get it. However when I noticed the normal plaque on my front teeth was still there I called to see if they could redo the basic cleaning and they told me I would have to pay the $600 for the "deeper clean" and that the basic clean doesn't get that. I've never had a dentist try to upsell me on cleanings like this before nor have I had my teeth feel this dirty leaving a dentists office. I do not mind paying the $600 for an under the gums cleaning but I do mind paying it for something that should've been done in the first place. I will not be going back here. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if permitted. After spending nearly two grand on fillings and crowns, my husband began having pain and intended to address it at his upcoming appointment. They called us before the appointment stating that they didn't take our insurance any longer and would we like to still come in. I explained yes, not for more work but to address the issues with my husbands crown. After he went in they refused to see him unless he paid 75 for a checkup! Um, we spend two thousand dollars and now they won't stand beside and fix their own work!? Keep in mind this was within a 3-6 month period and when he mentioned problems the previous visit the dentist said it needed time in order to settle for the pain to stop. Do not go to this dentist! They only care about money and not client satisfaction. read more

Let me first start off by saying I'm not one to leave reviews, but I felt this was necessary. My first appointment was back in August with Lee Dental, I absolutely loved the dentist who actually did my entire cleaning due to long wait time. She was caring, personable, and did not try to sell me on anything. Fast forward to December (4 months, not 6 months after my cleaning) Lee Dental called and text me with a reminder about an appointment that I had no recollection of scheduling the day before. Things not mentioned in this call OR text: what the appointment was AND that there would be a $25 same day cancellation fee. The appointment was for a gum check up which I found absolutely ridiculous. My gums are fine and there was no reason for me to go in and do a "gum check up" and spend however much money on this. After calling back to cancel this appointment on the same day a very rude receptionist told me they had told me all this information about my gum appointment back in August (because I was going to remember that) and that the $25 cancellation fee was in my new patient paperwork and I was supposed to know this. Reasons I am disappointed: I really loved the dentist, the $25 same day cancellation fee should be mentioned in the text / phone call, and lack of customer service given by the receptionist. It's not about the $25, just would appreciate some more understanding! Thank you. read more

STAY AWAY!!! This place deserves zero 0 stars for the zero 0 amount of care, respect, and empathy they give their patients. When searching for a dentist do yourself a favor and keep looking. I almost lost a family member to sepsis thanks specifically to Dr. Sue Yun and Dr. Zhangrui (Zac) Liang. They are highly unqualified to take any living person under their care and frankly I don't understand how they can sleep at night knowing that they almost killed someone who trusted them. Dr. Christal is AMAZING! Prior to her, I was used to dentists recommending random treatments. My first visit years ago was the first time a dentist didn't tell me I had a cavity! I have full confidence in the care of Dr. Christal. When I cracked a tooth and needed a crown, she was professional, gentle, thorough, and did a great job. During regular visits she takes her time with me and always explains any options as needed. The Lee Dental Center in Leon Springs is a 5 star+ dental facility. Dr. Tonya and all of her staff are outstanding. I go twice a year for my cleaning and X-rays and have always found them friendly, professional, caring and spend plenty of time with you on any questions you might have about your dental needs. Wish I could give these guys a negative rating. I've always been distrustful of dentists and these guys proved my intuition correct. My wife went in to get an annual exam and she left without a simple clean and being overcharged for a filling. We have insurance through Guardian HMO and our dental plan very clearly states that simple cleanings are free and the maximum price for 1 filling is 30 dollars. Not only did these crooks not give my wife a cleaning after a 2 hour wait but they told her she needed a filling and only a second before the procedure did they inform her it would be $90. I don't understand how they can overcharge customers with insurance, when their benefits plans clearly state the customer cost. Seems like they didn't run our insurance at all and made a customer cash pay unnecessarily. These guys are crooks and you'd be better served staying away. We will be filing claims with our insurance company and complaints with The Texas state board of dental examiners. read more

My first foray at Lee Dental was a under an emergency situation. I had recently been to an office that rhymes with 'meven boo meven' but they did me wrong. Like really, really wrong. My face was on fire and my tooth was on the verge of needing to come out. I am a vain, 40+ year old woman. Toothless is not an option. I got an appointment at Lee, a facility I have driven past daily for the last seven years. I may as well have been walking into La Cantera resort. Who knew? It is well decorated, exceedingly clean, and everyone is so nice. The doctor knew right away that I needed an endodontist and found one for me. Why does this matter? Because she wanted me to get the right treatment and be pain free. It wasn't about her paycheck. So now my son and I use Lee Dental. The whole staff is friendly, well-trained, and take pride in their work. I am happy to announce that after seven years in San Antonio, I have finally found my dentist. read more

I have been using lee dental for a few years now. During my time with them I have yet to find one complaint. I look forward to my appointments to visit with the friendly staff. For the past 11 months I have been coming monthly due to having braces. Dr. Gonzales is my orthodontist, he is amazing! He really works magic on your teeth and keeps you involved every step of the way. I love to chit chat with him as he's very personable. Grace is the orthodontist assistant I use. And grace... she's a shining star I just absolutely LOVE her! Dr. Quin is my daughter, hubby, and my dentist is she's awesome. Super friendly, sweet and detailed in her explanations of what needs to be done. She's great with kids which is a huge plus. My daughter always ask if she can go see the tooth doctor. I walked into Lee Dental with my three kids and all four of us had work done. Never once did I worry about my kids in another room getting cleaned while I was getting mine done too. The hygienists were very complimentary and encouraging to my children as they went through new experiences. Our insurance did not cover everything... but that is our issuer not theirs. They do have a "membership" type agreement that you pay monthly an services are discounted... kind of like supplemental insurance. Sara was my hygienist and she was great. While I interacted mostly with her, everyone on staff gave 5 star service. read more

I love going to this location! Everything is brand new, including the building, equipment, and decor! (It's a turn-off when the office is old and out of date, because that typically means the equipment is old, and MAYBE the dentist doesn't stay up-to-date with new advancements and procedures). I actually decided to go to Lee Dental Centers after another dentist screwed up a filling -- I had to get a root canal after he went too deep! I see Dr. Danielle Powell regularly now, and she is awesome! Very personable and she does a great job with my teeth. I highly recommend this location. However, it is a little more expensive, but I think that's worth it when you know you're getting the job done right! read more

My daughter had her four wisdom teeth extracted by an oral surgeon. I assumed the oral surgeon was with Lee Dental Centers. After the procedure I called my insurance to see how much they covered and they said the oral surgeon was out of network so they would not cover any of it. I was never told nor given documentation stating "their" oral surgeon was out of my network or I would have never agreed to the procedure. My insurance covers 75 percent of wisdom teeth extraction in network minus sedation. Instead of paying a roughly $900 I am now stuck with a $1900 bill!!! read more

I went in and had a tooth extraction and a bone implant (nothing more than putting some powdered bone in my extraction hole) and was told the whole cost including the tooth implant would be 3400. I paid half and waited the 4 weeks to see if "graft" took then was told repeatedly that the Dr. who does implants was out on medical leave. The extraction was in August. I called a month or so ago told the person who took the message that if I didn't get something to happen because I was tired of waiting I was going to call my attorney. Got a call back within 5 minutes but just to set up an X-ray which I told them I could not come in the next day which is what they wanted. I called today and was told I would have to pay over the phone $2400 before they would even make the appointment for the implant! THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE! I said it was supposed to be 3400 and I paid half they said I paid 700 then 1400 the I said are you kidding me??? and hung up! read more
