We've been here twice and had a blast both times! We brought our 16 year old nephew with us both times and he really enjoyed it as well. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. He allows some practicing before you get started. He'll help you out with each item you want to throw and give you pointers. I HIGHLY recommend getting the "throw everything" package. Axes are awesome and the other items really make it fun. They have a huge variety of things to throw besides axes, so give them all a try. And some are much lighter than axes; like the stars, playing cards and skinny axes. And some are bigger! The variety is a lot of fun. What makes this place cool is the games. You have the option to throw at a bullseye target if you like. But they also have a bunch of games you can play; bomb defuser, a game similar to wheel of fortune, a battleship like game a many others. They basically use a projector in each lane hooked up to an iPad for the games. The games are then projected on to the target. The owner mentioned that he will be upgrading the software so it scores automatically; pretty slick. They also have a "rage room" where you can smash various objects. A group was in there while we had our session and when they came out, they were all smiles. This is a great spot in downtown Keene. Again, the owner is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. I went to book for 10:00 am the next day and website read card error. I booked again and went to bed. The next morning I saw a text for the night before, where are you it's 10:00. The website reverted back to same day but kept everything else the same. If I wasn't taking people from out of the country there I would have just lost my $116 but he charged me $116 again. We got 1 booth for 4 people. If you all hurry you might get to throw for 13 minutes. Was it worth it, no I feel I got ripped off. He answered below but he must have us mixed up with someone else. I asked my husband we didn't take any pictures and the target disappeared when the timer went off and NO ONE complained about a sore arm. WHO cares about $29 when it cost $232 . This was our second trip to The Keene Axe House in less than a month, and it did not disappoint whatsoever! Myself, and all of my children celebrated my Daughter's birthday here last month, and really had a blast! It being our first time, I was not sure what to expect? In the end, the owner Jamie did an amazing job showing us the ropes, and went above, and beyond making sure it was an experience that we truly enjoyed as a family! As a matter of fact, we all had such a good time we couldn't wait to come back! So, this past week was my Son's 24th birthday, and it was a unanimous vote that The Keene Axe House was the place to be! We actually stepped it up a notch this trip (Thanks to the Hospitality of the Host Jamie) We didn't stop at just Axes. We were treated to a very Unique array of throwing weapons that just added to an already awesome time! The place was packed, every lane was full, even the smash room was smashing! My son thoroughly enjoyed his Birthday, as did the entire gang! Really love this place, and will definitely be back again. Very Family friendly! Really cool ambiance, and just has a really cool energy to the whole thing! Definitely going to hit up the Smash room on the next visit. Places like this were built to bring people together! Family, friends, co-workers, teammates, ect. I highly suggest making it a point to Toss some Axes over in Keene! Jaime is running a great shop here in Keene, right on Main Street. Our family of 4, including 2 teens, had never thrown axes before. Jaime was extremely good at providing instruction so within moments we were accurately throwing a competitive game. It was really fun to throw the stars, too, a totally different experience. The entire place is handmade & really beautiful! Highly recommend this business. Jaime is friendly, knowledgeable, and we will definitely be going back! He even shared how I can prep my own wood slab to create an outdoor shelf and shared his stain :-) Great experience. read more

I went here with a group of friends and had the worst customer service experience of my life. We went for my friend's birthday and axe throwing is her favorite thing to do, she had been here once before with her company but usually goes other places for axe throwing. The owner showed us axe safety and then asked who wanted to go first, and she said she would. The owner then obsessively tried to instruct her to throw the axe in his way and she kept saying no to him. He had no understanding of consent in this situation. She proceeded to get bullseyes and this clearly rubbed him the wrong way. He is now stomping around the store and yelling about how rude she is. Yelling about how he plays with the best axe players in the world. We are talking about leaving and getting a refund and he agrees to this. Things start to settle down, he walks back to the register. She gets another bullseye and rings the bell and he comes back again (to our dim-lit corner in the back with the most ravaged board) and yells about how rude she is and how we are damaging equipment. Then in a childish display he rings the bell and breaks it. We decide to leave at this point because the man is extremely escalated and has ruined our whole time. We had only been there 10 minutes or so. He now refuses to give us our refund, saying that he physically can't and that he won't until he sees that we didn't leave a bad review. Obviously that refund is not coming. We got verbally assaulted by this angry, childish, sexist man the whole time... never come here.... Went here for a birthday evening with my family only to be accosted by the front desk employee who I eventually found out was the owner Jaime Dyer. Not sure why he had such a sensitivity towards my group but this situation got way too out of hand and the misconduct from the owner was something I've never experienced at a local business before. Self control and composure is a basic decency that anybody should have especially a business owner with paying customers. After we voluntarily left early before our hour was up he refused a refund even though we didn't get to use the full service at all and nearly all the time was spent arguing, I think I got maybe two throws in (which by the way I sunk right into the target with ease). While worried about a negative review he claimed he couldn't even write down a signed promise that he would refund us after already claiming his POS system doesn't do refunds at present time, to us this revealed that no refund would ever come, this is when it was time to leave as any considerate person would do. This owner will also use the waiver forms to contact you after hours which to me is an extreme breach of our privacy and a terrible business practice, I wouldn't suggest putting down anything that would expose your residence or contact information. For $27 per head an hour you'd expect a full hour of just throwing, instead we paid for insults and threats of legal action to be thrown at us. Next time before you go, axe yourself if this is the right decision. read more
