For the past 4 years My wife and I have done our taxes at Kaizen accounting solutions. The first 3 year We have made a appointment with Elena Carter. This year Willie Thompson advice us while preparing our 2018 taxes, Ms carter will not be in this season (but that she is ok) and will be back for next season. Very helpful & informative especially with the new tax bracket Mr. Thompson showed us our 3 previous years and this year. Very happy with his staff and his business, definitely recommend to everyone come check Kaizen Accounting Solutions. P.S. Mr. Thompson have a awesome welcoming waiting room with a big tray of sorted treats gummy's, chips & refreshments. read more

I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm. We paid for tax preparation services and the experience was a nightmare from start to finish. After submitting payment for their services, communication essentially stopped. We had to follow up repeatedly just to get basic updates on the status of our filing, and phone calls consistently went unanswered. We eventually confirmed they had filed our Federal return, but they never filed our state filings, despite us paying for full service. After multiple attempts to reach them by both phone and email, they stopped responding entirely. No explanation, no resolution, nothing. We were left to sort out the mess ourselves. We ended up paying another preparer just to review their work, and that review turned up multiple errors. As a result we had to pay again for an amended Federal return and pay again for the state filings, services we had already paid this firm to complete. Based on this experience, I consider this firm completely inept and unreliable. We're also filing a complaint with the California Tax Education Council. If you're looking for a tax preparer you can actually depend on, keep looking elsewhere. read more

Another great Tax year with Kaizen Accounting in the books! The process was so smooth and effortless. They have awesome social distancing protocols in place. From scheduling a last-minute appointment, to uploading my documents to their secure file portal, to using Google Meet everything was so straight forward, and user friendly. This year Don Brown did my taxes, with his help and expertise I came out ahead that year!!! Thank you! read more

They charge you 600.00 upfront and then to prepare your taxes. You end up paying over 1k. They send in your taxes without your approval or signature and let you handle the fall out for their mistakes. Worst experience ever!!! read more

Grant at The Kaizen Group really helped us with our 2023 taxes after the retirement of our long-time preparer. We were concerned because we had a number of changes in our financial profile but Grant knows his stuff and handled them efficiently. He was professional, on time and friendly. Great service at a fair price. read more

This is the only place my husband and I will ever go to get our taxes done! They are efficient, honest, professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I left this place again with no worries, hassles, or doubts. As a first time homebuyer, first time business owner our tax preparer answered all of our questions with care, thoroughness, dedication, and patience. This place is worth the try! I cross the bridge, pay toll just to come here. I live 30min away, but I can't go anywhere else. They're the best! read more

Kaizen accounting highly professional tax accounting firm. Grant the owner did our taxes right in front of us. He actually saved us quite a bit of money. We had used another tax service that had made a mistake. Grant corrected the mistake which was a $4500 swing. Thank you Grant you definitely have a customer for life. read more

Everybody dislikes tax season! I know I do! I can honestly say that this year, that all changed for me. I owe it all to Zachary, over at "Kaizen Accounting Solutions". He was so patient and very thorough. The process didn't take long at all and he was willing to answer all my questions. Topping it all off with a great refund!! That's prolly the best part!!! Lol. I highly recommend making this your Accounting Solution. See you next year! 2c| approved read more

Kaizen Accounting solutions was literally the solution to my taxing problem. I was burnt out from previous years of filing all by myself through some confusing or too good to be true service. Once I found Kaizen accounting and scheduled an appointment with Zach I came to the office with high expectations. Needless to say , my expectations were met. The office was so clean and the staff so welcoming and inviting. As mentioned before I got my taxes done with Zach ( schedule your appointment with him) but from the looks of it and my experience everyone in that office is well equipped to helping you. I left with a nice refund ( bigger than what I got before when doing it on my own). Go now and schedule your appointment with KAIZEN ACCOUNTING SOLUTIONS. read more

When I came in I was kindly greeted with the luxury of beverages and snacks. My tax preparer Zachary Randall, assisted me right away and was very helpful and patient. I will definitely be coming back next year to file my taxes with him. Excellent service. This is the best accounting company you'll find. I'm a happy customer read more

If I could give no star I totally would! This place, the person who did my tax was totally uneducated and did not even know how to do my taxes right, he didn't include my 1099 form in my tax return and now I have to deal with all IRS issues which is all due to his lack of knowledge! When I am asking what the heck happened he says I did see your form, then why the heck you didn't do anything about it??? I have no clue why people would rate this people as knowledgeable, if I did my tax online myself it would have been better! Charging me for 200$ and giving me this crap?? Please do not risk and do tax return somewhere else! read more

I highly recommend Kaizen Accounting for everyone! I was actually one of Grant Allen's first clients years ago, when I was a single mother, and I have trusted him and depended on him ever since! Each year, he went above and beyond to help me get a nice tax return, and that is why I have been a loyal client for the last 7 plus years! This tax season, my husband and I visited the Kaizen Accounting Solutions office on Richmond Parkway and we had an amazing experience! When we arrived, the Office Manager, Stephanie was so friendly and helpful. She offered us beverages, snacks and candy, and she even assisted with our very active 3-year old son, while we met with Marinette. Marinette was so sweet and she worked very quickly. She was done within minutes! Karen was also very helpful providing us a pre-consultation, prior to our visit. Mr. Thompson is very professional and I can tell takes his job very seriously and is very knowledgeable. The entire office staff is a wonderful group of people who genuinely want to help you. We weren't expecting a big return this year...but let's just say my husband and I received a lot more than we expected on our tax return! We are very pleased with their services, and we will continue to utilize their services in the future. I absolutely recommend Kaizen Accounting Solutions to everyone! They are simply, the best! read more

I had a very bad experience with the lady at Kaizen who did my taxes last year. Perhaps the other accountants at Kaizen are much better (as implied by the good ratings), but I will not be coming back here. The lady was very nice, but she was unfamiliar with the tax software, had no knowledge of tax law, and was terrible with numbers. First, she could not answer any question I had about small business deductions or tax law. She also kept making simple math mistakes over and over, such as entering the same deduction in multiple categories, adding numbers incorrectly, and forgetting to add some numbers entirely. Even though I told her I wanted to be honest with my tax return, she added a zero to one of my duductions without asking me. After I pointed it out, she said my number was "too low" compared to what other people put. After two hours of going over and over the same list of deductions (about 30 items, which I had prepared ahead of time) and finding never-ending mistakes, I asked her to delete everything and walked her though every single field in the tax softwere. After I walked her through her own tax software, double checked everything for errors, and got some help from another employee there, I did get a decent tax return. But considering the three or so total hours I spent there, the expensive fee, and the fact that I got almost no help from the "professional", I would have been much better off using an online tax software. Perhaps this was a new employee/ consultant hired only for the tax season, but her lack of training, lack of tax deduction knowledge, and lack of basic math skills implies that Kaizen does not take the time to screen and train their tax preparers. read more

I was so impressed by this business, their knowledge, customer service and overall care was EXCEPTIONAL!! .. I found myself in some tax trouble so I turned to Yelp to see if I could find someone to help me out of my bind with Uncle Sam. Regardless of who I chose, I fully expected to not have a good experience. I mean... we are dealing with the IRS. I was more than pleasantly surprised with the experience I had with Kaizen. It started with the professional reception and greeting and ended with me filing two years of tax returns in under two hours. The process was smooth, and I received some great tax education. I WILL be using them for my future tax preparation service in the future. read more

This is my second consecutive year going to Kaizen Accounting & I have been very pleased both times. The staff there has a wealth of knowledge to pull from & have always been completely professional & trustworthy. Mr. Thompson worked with me both times & he definitely knows the "ins & outs" of taxes. Both times I have gone there, they were able to file my taxes quickly & efficiently. Everyone there seems to be verse with the rules of accounting. I will definitely be using Kaizen accounting in the future & highly recommend that others go there as well! read more

Grant and team never cease to amaze me. What I love most is the honesty. They told me of all the changes that would go into affect since Trump is now President unfortunately. Really unhappy about the service I got earlier this year (end of march) for my 2014 Tax Return. First of all, they were polite and really quick in response - both on phone and email before the appointment. I have no problem for this part and I had wanted to give them 4-5 star for this when I first got in contact with them. However, the service itself would be 0 star if I could give 0 star. When I call to make the appointment, I mentioned that my income is super simple (only 1 W-2 from one employer) and the reason I'm looking for help is because of my dual status last year. I was under the condition that I changed from F1 student visa into a PR green card status. The filing requirement gets really unclear because of dual status and I wanted some help. Also, I scheduled an emergency flight out of state and really want to just pay and get it done. The girl on the phone say there is no problem and they have plenty of experience on this situation. I even follow up with a email re-confirming this situation and they confirmed having no problem. I got a quote of "perhaps around $60, probably even cheaper since the income is so straight forward". The day of appointment came and I was introduced to the "helper" really fast. They were nice and fast, which is a plus. However, since the "helper" isn't really a CPA, I'm guessing he doesn't really know what he is doing. Apparently, nothing was mentioned to him of my dual status and he doesn't really seem to understand even after I explained to him. He made the decision I should use 1040NR and started filing. To be honest, this is when I started to feel really uncomfortable. I'm not really looking for a data input assistant to just file up a 1040NR form - if it's just filing that form, I've filed it 2 years already. He basically just filed the blank without really thinking what he is filing. I even caught a few mistake and confirmed & corrected it during the filing process. At the end, they generated a tax return and say they can't electronic file it due to NR status. Here is where they earn themselves 0 star. The price came out $200 and you can't reject it after they generated the forms. This is a total fraud in every point of view. It's not like I did not make it clear to you before scheduling the appointment, and why would the price more than triple? Ok, if they just ripped me off and did a good job, I'll still give them 1.5 or 2 star. The best part is - I felt really uncomfortable about their unprofessional service and decided to spend the whole night digging up tax regulation (during the night which I should be packing for my flight tomorrow) and realize they have my tax return completely filed incorrectly. I spent 3 hour studying and re-filing it myself - luckily they couldn't send it out and I have to send it myself, otherwise I will have to file for amendment. I finished it at midnight and send it out so I could catch my flight the next day. You can imagine the pressure. So, I spend a morning at their office, got ripped off for $200 buck, and still had to do the tax return myself. Awesome service! If you are sure you are 100% US residence and you have only (1) W-2 to report. If you are looking for a typing assistant to enter number, which you have to figure out the number yourselves. I strongly recommend you go somewhere else. I didn't had time to complain to them right afterward - because I was catching an emergency flight and end up in Asia for three full month due to family issue. But at least I got back in time to put up a alert for anyone considering them next year. I'm more than welcome to talk to Kaizen if they believe any part of this is not true. read more

Wow! Who would have thought it would have been this easy to handle your taxes!?! Willie and Stephanie were so helpful and complete from prep to file of our taxes. With the new additions in our lives, we were not going to handle it ourselves this year. We went to one of those places with the twirly signs and got a bad vibe from the place. We then checked out yelp for an assist and we found Kaizen. Great Experience to say the least. We got a discount for being first time customers and we will positively be returning next year if not sooner for advisement on our future endeavors. Thanks Kaizen!!! read more

Last week I had my taxes done at Kaizen Accounting. The staff was very accommodating with my busy schedule. I was greeted at the door by the friendly office coordinator and office manager. I was then offered refreshments before my appointment. They even offered to assist with my three month old who wanted to come with dad. ;-) Great customer service!!! The tax preparer was very knowledgeable and I received great advice for all my questions I had. I tried to test out turbotax free software before my appointment and put in all my documents and I did not receive nearly as much of a refund as what I was able to receive by going to Kaizen.
