I had a mixture of furniture items, tree branches, and some big root logs from a giant Mulberry tree to remove from three different places on my property. I called for an estimate and they showed up right on time with a truck and trailer. The estimate was reasonable and they offered to take everything right away. In 45 minutes all three sites were clean -- a very fast and excellent job. I was also glad to see that they heeded my warning to avoid snagging a sprinkler head that poked up in the path to the front. S&H takes credit cards through the Square System which I find more convenient than check or cash. Highly recommended and I am certain that I will use their services again. read more

Friendly yet professional service. Called on Saturday morning, they were on the job at another location, they got my info and said they would call as soon as they finished and would come over to quote out job. They were very prompt and professional. They started working as soon as we agreed on the job and they were very respectful not only to the clients but also to each other, They also took a high level of pride in their work and did a great job mentoring the younger member of their crew. Demo day!! Demo'd a small bathroom at home one day, S&H was there the next day to pick everything up. Saved me the time and aggravation (and back pain) of loading everything up to make a dump run. I've used these guys a few times and have been very happy. When I had my roof redone, I had to remove the gravel from the roof before the roofers started. With a couple of friends and neighbors, we were able to talked this and save a lot of $$ on the roof. I would not have thought of using there trailers for that . They helped with the setup and hailed it all away before the roofers showed up. Timing is everything on these type of jobs, give them a try. read more

TL;DR: 10/10 will be using them again…read more "Duck cleaning? Where are there ducks in the house?" I naively ask my home inspector, as I'm a first time homebuyer. He points to the roof, heater blasting in the middle of the summer, "give it a moment, you'll smell it." He tests my heater. "You'll turn this on this winter and you smell the previous owners cats and dogs, you smell that?" I inhale a full face of what smells like animal hair on fire. DUCT, not duck. The vents in my house. This is where my journey of finding a duct cleaner comes in. I turn to Yelp, and find a new business without any reviews. I shoot a message. Unbeknownst to me, Yelp sends this "project" to 2 additional duct cleaning companies. Branson, owner of Albuquerque Window Cleaning responds within 20 minutes. He communicates clearly the cost, what hours he is available, and leaves the floor open to me choosing. No big pressure or calling me multiple times a day. This respect for me, alone, makes me want to work with them. Albuquerque Window Cleaning goes around my hectic schedule. "Moving" is not just your belonging it's all the days, agencies, folks helping, and so much more. He moves around my schedule. I reschedule. I tell him the boyfriends work hours, and he makes a point to respect the work time of my partner. He comes on the weekend. He shows up on time, he even shoots me a text (my preferred method) to let me know when he is about 20 minutes out. He and his crew not only are masked up, they are kind, communicative, and even clear with me about the products they are going to use. They ask if I consent, which has never happened in my life-- folks usually just do what they want. They proceed to go room by room, around a mountain of boxes & beds. They don't touch my belongings (but to be fair we tried to clear where every duct is). At no point do they remove their masks. They are even mindful of my little dog, who gets out of my hands. Branson runs specials and charged $25 per vent. Air intakes usually cost more if they only do the air intake (this usually happens pre-summer) but since they are doing all my vents they charge the air intake like it is a vent, $25. He asks me if I'd like my dryer vent done as well, he charges $50 for this which is usually more if he only comes to clean the dryer but since he is doing all the vents it's a flat $50 extra. He is also running a promotion that for every 4th vent there is no cost. In addition, he gives me a military discount.* YOU CANNOT BEAT THESE PRICES! All the while, Yelp is sending me "estimates" from other duct cleaning companies. They range from $35/vent to $38.50+ tax per vent. Another says they would have to "connect with me via phone" to give me an estimate. So, it's safe to say I got lucky with my first inquiry. His price blows the competition out of the water. Lots of folks don't know that their energy bills for drying clothes increases without proper tending to the vents, and disabled folks like me may not know that a cause for increased breathing issues are due to uncleaned ducts. There is a noticeable difference in my house. My lungs can tell. My clothes dry faster and it's noticeable. 10/10 will use them in the future and absolutely proud to be their first review. All these other companies better watch out. Albuquerque Window Cleaning is not just windows.

I had a terrible experience with Andy's painting. Prior to starting the job, I emphasized to the…read morecrew that we had recently installed new flooring in our home and that I was concerned about protecting the floors. I was assured that the floors would be covered during the duration of the project to ensure protection. Floor covering is specified in our contract but was not completed. Our floors were not covered. Instead, masking tape was placed on the floor in sporadic areas. I discussed this with our project manager Kris and the painting crew after realizing that they weren't going to cover the floors and again re-emphasied my concerns, however the floors were still not covered. The tape job was not adequate, and paint got all over the stairs and flooring. The crew attempted remove the paint using an abrasive orbital buffer and a sharp hand tool. This caused multiple steps to be scratched and gouged. The crew caused $622.08 worth of damage to our new flooring. Andy's website states "We perform the work. We do not subcontract our painting work. All our painters are employed by Andy's painting." The original painters and our project manager Kris both informed me on the first day that the crew were indeed sub-contractors. The painter said that it was only his second day working with Andy's. Obviously, this was frustrating and a willful misrepresentation by Andy's. We did not expect or agree to have the job subcontracted. Especially by someone who lacked the skill to complete the job. Areas that were not to be painted received paint. Including the stair risers, handrail and doors. The handrail was even painted a different color without my consent or prior knowledge. The lack of attention to detail was astounding. We had to babysit the entire project. I had to ask multiple times to have simple tasks like filling nail holes or having walls textured completed. All of these items were agreed to in our contract. However, there were constant excuses from the crew and attempts to cut corners. I was told "you probably don't need 2 coats of paint" and "you can't see those holes." ect. It was tiresome to have to repeatedly insist that they complete the job as we had agreed. The first crew was fired by the project manager after 2 days. In total, 3 different crews worked on our project trying to get it right. On the very first day I was told that the job would be completed in 1 day. The job ended up taking 5 days. The doors were painted using a sprayer in our driveway. The driveway was not protected properly and there was white paint sprayed all over our driveway. The doors were initially put back on wet causing the paint to be damaged, door hinge pins upside down, missing screws ect. The crew does not arrive on time. They were at least 30 minutes late on 4 different occasions. Multiple crew members told me that Andy's will hire anyone and that they don't check references or require any demonstration of proficiency or skill prior to be hired. Overall, it was a bad experience. I was expecting a much more professional experience and result. Andy's did agree to pay for the damage and did some additional work on removing the paint from our stairs and flooring. I would not recommend hiring Andy's Painting.

I was told by the local transmission shop that my vehicle needed the transmission replaced. I could not afford that so I needed to locate a good, used transmission that was also affordable. Southwest Auto Recyclers were able to provide me one at GREAT value for only $650. Their mechanic, Mark, even checked out my car first to give me a second opinion and make sure that I even needed it replaced. The manager, Joe, was super professional and very helpful. He made sure to run my VIN number against the replacement to make sure that it would fit for my specific vehicle. He was very transparent about everything and gave me the full run-down on where the donor vehicle came from and why it was brought to the shop in the first place. He also informed me of all the different tests they had run on the vehicle and about the condition of the transmission and other parts. While the mechanic, Mark, will begin the transmission replacement tomorrow, and I haven't yet received the finished service, I am quite confident that I am in good hands. Joe offers a 90-day warranty on all parts, and that made me feel that he really stands behind his products. I had an old propane BBQ, outdoor hoop set including a stand filled with sand, and some miscellaneous pieces of an old wood bench to have hauled away. I outlined this "stuff" in their online "Request an appointment" on their web page on Sunday afternoon. To my surprise I got a call back that same afternoon, gave an explanation of what the items were, got a reasonable quote for their removal, and set up a time on the upcoming Tuesday. They arrived well within the 2-hour window they had given me, and quickly and efficiently removed the items at the price they had quoted me over the phone. The team of four men who did the removal were polite and courteous - a definite pleasure to do business with. I would definitely use them again. read more

This is the best company to hire for a move or junk removal. I've used S&H Hauling twice. A couple of years ago for a move from a North Valley house to my new Westside home in Albuquerque and the second time when my husband and I needed to remove quite a bit of junk before selling our house.
