I've only been to Junction for private events and they are solid, chill staff, clean, variety of seating and zones, depending on the season (they have an outdoor patio setup for spring summer), always a great lineup, clean washrooms, no complaints. The food part of the kitchen closes at 10, and I was running late and very hungry so I had my friend order me a burger at like 9:59. I got here around 10:45 and friends, this burger has no business being as good as it is for sitting on the table for like 30 minutes or however long it's just been chilling waiting for me to get here yes. I don't know how they do this or what witchcraft they do to their burgers, but it's absolutely delicious. The fries are appropriately cold for this length of time, but the seasoning is still yummy on those too. I am kind of appalled at how good this food is. I've been to Junction a few times - once for a drag show, twice to go dancing and once for Improv! The music is always awesome when coming for dancing. Cover is $15. In terms of service it feels slow at times. Even if no one is ordering at the bar but you, it takes ages it feels. Improv is on Wednesday's by donation at the end. Came here for a casual beer with friends after work on the patio. Service was extremely slow - seems as though the patio was understaffed as there was no way that the one server could adequately tend to the full patio. Food was better than I expected, and there was a deal with wings and a beer that is a good deal for Vancouver. Obviously there is more to this place than I experienced. As we were leaving, drag queens were arriving to do a show. Note that the bathrooms have been un-gendered so you may encounter a different gender from your own when washing your hands. read more

Went here on a Friday night with my roommates and it was so amazing! $5 cover and we went when the lineup wasn't that bad so we only waited for less than 5mins. The Junction has been a go-to place of mine and my friends for years! Since COVID, they've had to endure lots of changes but have been able to roll with the punches. The Junction has been able to switch their business successfully from being a popular nightclub to a popular day place to eat due to the roomy patio and the wonderful staff. The Junction has had to deal with many covidiots but still continues to be a very safe and friendly place! The food is always good and the waiters remember your drinks and are always friendly. I Went there for the first time last night and had a terrible experience. My friend and I stood up and playful danced for a minute or two. We kept to ourselves within our "bubble" but they decided to kick us out for that. We sat back down to finish our drinks that we paid for and they told us to leave right now. For what exactly? We weren't disturbing other people or getting in their space. It was so rude, I was flabbergasted. I'm a business owner myself so I'm not typically inclined to leave negative reviews, but this was next level. They should really rethink how they treat paying customers. Wow. Wish I give ZERO stars.Treated so terribly at this place so much so I felt the need to write a review. Honestly, so fucking disgusted at the amount of attitude from the only employee we interacted with. First night in Vancouver, left another bar on Davey to check out this one. My best friend and I walked in and no employee was visible at the front. It was 45 minute shy of The Junction closing so we thought since no one was at the front we could walk in and they would probably check our ID's at the bar. We didn't see a visible "cover" sign walking in and thought the entrance desk was just coat check. A male employee came out to nowhere and flagged us down walking into the bar and said "ID's and you have to pay cover" so of course we followed him because if we knew we had to pay a cover we would have. It was our first time here at Junction so we didn't know what was what and where was where. He had Immediate sass with us from the start. He saw our CA ID's and demanded a second form of verification. I had my credit card and my best friend had a picture of her passport. We didn't think this was a problem because the last bar accepted a picture of her passport. Anyways, the male employees attitude just got worse as we tried to explain our situation. He said "you can leave have a good night". Disappointed. Really looked forward to seeing Davey street and the LGBTQ scene as I'm apart of the LGBTQ community, but this has left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. Gross. It's really not that serious. I feel bad that this sassy egotistical male thinks it's okay to treat people like this. To treat women like this. I was going to give this place a lower rating but I decided to give it another chance. I found that it's a lot better if you come earlier. There is a drag show that starts 10:30pm on fridays and saturdays, which was funny and good. The one thing that lets this place down is the lineup; I do not know how they could keep 20 people outside over 30 minutes. Once you get in, depending on the day, it's all music and an LGBT safe space. I am just happy that in Vancouver, we have this one for the community. They could improve their customer service and the venue needs a touch-up; other than that, arrive early and have fun! read more

Pulse, Majestic, or whatever the heck it's called now really needs to stop changing names. I'm not sure if it's getting bought out every time its reinventing itself, nor do I really care. I just wish I knew what to expect everytime I went in there, since everytime I do it has a different name. Perhaps the club itself needs to do more advertising of what it has going on when it does change it's name, so you don't show up for an 80's party dressed like a fool when it's top 40 night. Eeek! How embarrassing! I have had a good Friday night in there dancing to the tunes of Michael Venus and DJ Pandemonium, unfortunately that was a one time gig. Tthe last time I was in there for some after work drinks on a Friday the music was ridden with so many out-dated pop hits I wasn't sure if I had stepped into a teleporter that took me back to 1991 or what? I was so scared! I think what this place needs is someone like Michael Venus to be more than just a DJ, and to start putting on special events that will help drag people in. The Junction is a great addition to the Gaybourhood - however, that's mostly due to a declining number of options. There's no more Odyssey, Celebrities is a no-go, and I'm not usually in the mood for Numbers or the Pumpjack. The Junction can be great on off-peak nights - Sundays and Mondays - especially if their drink specials are on. To be fair, sometimes this place can be a riot, but it is a bit of a hit-or-miss venue in terms of the energy in the room. It's a good place to have a last-minute dance and drink before catching a cab to go home, but I guess it's best described as kind of like a breakfast cereal - "part of a balanced breakfast" but not particularly wholesome on its own. read more

The bouncer spends so much time being an elitist, leaving so many people outside and the inside of the bar 1/4 full the entire time so there's this awkward 3/4 barren feel the entire time. They need to be better at managing the lines. I understand wanting to keep it exclusive and making money on cover charges but it throws the whole vibe. The DJ is by FARRRR the worst part, he doesn't know how to create a decent set ever to save his life and the dance floor is so weird. Plays the same song for what feels like 7 hours. This place has changed its name THREE TIMES within 1 year... Really pissed me off a bit due to the fact that it closes down before the special event weekends (Halloween, Gay Pride, and Summer Holiday). Now the Junction has been here for almost a year now, lets hope they stay that way for a while now... please. Anyways, onto the review... This place is really pumping with really good top 40s remix music. Typical, club within the city, nothing special there... The DJs are mostly gay, except for 1 that I know who is not. LOL. The place is a perfect size for a club, and of course the gay community is always friendly. Now, only thing I didn't like was that the bar tenders are not really that attentive with people on the floor. They just sing and dance without taking orders.. kinda weird... You are bar tenders, not Go Go dancers... The decor is so plain here, like any typical club, nothing really stands out in this club as a gay club though except for the location and the music. Junction though has one of the best gay people ever though. It is a mix of ages, and types of gays, so it is not that judgmental, and not as many straight people here either. Except for a couple of fag hags, and a few couples that come here... I do like the Junction, but it really doesn't deserve a 4 star, but a 3.5. I will round down because I would go to Celebrities after just to have an amazing time with my drag queens. :P read more

With the closing of Vancouver's iconic gay club Odyssey, Junction absorbed a good chunk of the staff and late-night business from it's now homeless former neighbour. If only it deserved that crowd. It's been getting busy after 1am lately for 2 reasons: #1 The capacity is low and half the room is taken up by tables, and #2 there's literally nowhere else to go in Vancouver now. I've given it a few chances on different nights, and I know they're trying hard but it always feels crowded and tiny and like a bad attempt at a mini-Odyssey--which you can't do. Ever. Hopeing the O reopens soon so there's some real choice in the city and all these little places will remember how to do business. read more

I get dragged out to Junction with my gay friends fairly routinely. The staff at this spot are great at managing the long lines of people waiting to get in. Once inside, door staff are friendly and remember you on return visits. The bar staff are professional and quick. One of the biggest draws for this venue is the music. The DJs are constantly pumping out great songs and even have taken a request before. Great for dancing with almost no bums in seats when the music is going. Warning to out-of-towners: This is not a place to pick up girls however the crowd there is also quite accepting of straight-folk like myself. read more

I like this place. It's got a nice, cozy feeling because it's not overly huge and the music they play here at junction is fun and easy to dance to. The DJ s know how to play to the audience and take requests. The entrance fee is only $5 which is WAY better than paying $25 at other clubs down the street. We were in Vancouver for Pride 2018 and was told that this was the place to be! Ummmmmm ok? Seriously underwhelming. We waited in line for 30 minutes (at 8pm) and when we got inside, it was totally dead and the music was really bad. We decided not to pay the $15 cover charge and go somewhere else. We ended up returning after realizing that everywhere else was terrible too. We had some friends who were inside, so we decided to wait in line again. Huge Mistake! We waited over 1 hour and paid $60 cover for 4 people. The line ups to the washrooms were so long and by the time you got in there, there were druggies shooting up in the bathroom. Wow way to go Vancouver, real classy! At least the music got better and our bartender was consistently nice and efficient. read more

I've only really gone dancing at one place in Vancouver so far but I've always had a great time at Junction. The place is busy but not so crowded that you can't find a spot. The music is usually super cheesy top-40 dance mix music but it's easy to dance to. I have no idea if they have a good booze selection cause I usually go in with a group and order a pitcher of beer. This is easily the nastiest nightclub I've been to in decades. The sound system is rivaled by even the most pathetic small town frat house. The lighting is a dysfunctional, amateurish hodgepodge. We went here for dinner and drinks and to watch Ryan and Rob kick butt on the amazing race Canada. I had been there a few times before (mostly for a few drinks and a dance it two) so I had never done food there before. We decided to split nachos and a jug of beer since we weren't all that hungry. The beer was great. Obviously. The nachos... Not so much. They were a very small portion, they were burnt, 80% of the chips had nothing on them (no cheese or other toppings), there were hardly any toppings - except for olives... Lola seems to think it's okay to demand for tips. She literally cussed me and my friends out for not tipping enough, saying that when we don't tip her enough that it comes out of her own pocket. Really, Lola??!! Maybe if you weren't so hard headed and paid more attention you would notice the money going in your tip jar. Well, the service was horrible. No alcohol in drinks. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Waited 15mins AFTER we were seated for the server to come by and then were told to use the QRcode for items on the menu. Then another 15mins for them to return. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. Mixed drinks seemed weak (caesars) as if there was no alcohol in them and they were served in an old fashion glass (did they run out of the mix?). The food was mediocre at best. The server NEVER came by once to ask how our food was nor ask if we would like more drinks. We did witness several groups of people come in, be seated, then ignored, then they all would get up and leave shortly after. No, it was not busy. We sat outside on a Wednesday afternoon around 5:30 pm and we spent $71 just the two of us. We were told the Drag show would be $15 each for cover if we wanted to return. Never eaten here but I would never based on the menu, sounds like it's all frozen garbage; I have been here later in the evening when they start ripping off customers on drinks and taking tips that they don't deserve. If I order two double vodka and soda's I expect to be served two ounces of vodka per drink and not watch the blonde female bartender pour a shot of vodka into the shot glass, tilt the shot glass, pour half of it into the drinks and then top off the shot glass and pour the rest in, serving me 1.5 ounces or less; shady. It was later in the evening but I wasn't nearly drunk or stupid enough to not notice her ripping me off. Oh, and if I give a bartender a $20 on a $17 bill expecting to receive my change I expect to get my change so I can determine the tip; the bartender shouldn't just put my change in the tip jar. read more
