Over the past couple of years, we have seen a veritable juice/smoothie bar revolution in Oslo. The Juicery seems to aim for the more high-end segment of the market, with slick packaging and swanky looking shops. This is not worth much if the quality of their products doesn't match the image - and sadly, it falls far short. They use fresh ingredients (as opposed to for example Smoothie Exchange, which use all frozen fruit and carton juices in their smoothies), but their bowls and smoothies still taste rather bland. They also seem to rely to heavily on banana, which makes their acai bowl taste very little acai. For the prices they charge (99 NOK for a small-ish acai bowl topped with almond butter), the portion sizes and choices of ingredients (for example, my acai bowl was topped with sliced banana and a bland-tasting green apple, as opposed to fresh berries or perhaps mango) makes the experience seem like a rip-off. To be honest, I'd rather go to Smoothie exchange, despite the frozen ingredients. At least they don't try to appear grander than their products. read more
