All I did was reach for the mail in my mailbox and felt a slight muscle twist In my arm. By the end of the evening it was extremely painful. I couldn't lift my arm or sleep, or figure out exactly where the pain was coming from: back, neck or arm. Went to Urgent Care the next day, diagnosed as Calcific Tendinitis in my shoulder and sent me to orthopedic doc who gave me a must -do exercises, PT referral and said use ibuprofen, Tylenol and ice, and expect it to cure itself in 6-8 weeks. PT said, no exercise and to leave it alone for a few weeks and ice it and work on my posture. ? Needless to say, conflicting info, and to not be able to work (type), sleep or drive for 6-8 weeks?!! I was tired and frustrated and went to The Joint in Gold River hoping for some relief. From the moment I walked in they helped me with the forms, I could not write, or do all other things that required my hand/arm. Dr. Brisbane, said he wasn't sure how much he could help with the pain, but he could help with mobility. He did a few adjustments and the very next day my arm mobility went from none to halfway to shoulder-height and the pain was isolated to only my shoulder. Two days after FIRST appointment, I went back, even he was shocked at the quick improvement. Each visit brought better arm mobility and less pain. By the following week I was sore but had total mobility. My Christmas was saved! Now, I know the calcification heals itself, but I am convinced the docs at The Joint sped up this process and definitely got all surrounding pain, from muscles/joints compensating for my shoulder, under control. Had an appointment with Dr Roger Brisbane. I told him I specifically wanted work done on my neck. He proceeded to press down on the lower trunk of my back. I now have a hard time working out at the gym and I cant golf anymore. Do not see Dr Brisbane if you play Golf or do any rotating movements with your torso. He will put all his body weight on you and destroy your back. Hopefully this helps. read more

I came in to this location after injuring my back and in desperate need of an adjustment. I put off coming so long I actually needed a few. The staff was caring and very helpful in explaining the different options I had. I have been to several of the other locations to be adjusted and I find the doctors here to be the best in the area, they take the time to look at the file and since I have a fusion and concerning areas I feel more comfortable here since they know what's going on. I saw that there was a location near my hotel, so I decided to utilize my membership to get treated. The Chiropractor on staff took her time to read my notes, and ask me questions as this was the first time seeing me. Her thoroughness was greatly appreciated. Wow! Dr. Brisbane is a miracle worker!! I've suffered from headaches for YEARS. Nothing has helped even with visiting a neurologist. My husband wanted a chiropractor visit for his birthday and he by chance happened to ask Dr. Brisbane if he could help with headaches. I kid you not, after a SINGLE visit I haven't had a headache since?? I almost started crying three days later when I realized I didnt hurt and felt normal. I've been coming once a week since and still not a single headache. I will 1000% recommend him to anyone and everyone that asks. He has over 30 years of experience and is so welcoming and friendly. I came with my husband back in 2016 and we planned on starting a membership, being new to the area in need of a new chiropractor. I filled out paperwork while my husband was being adjusted and had a rough time with the woman helping me chose our package. My husband really did not enjoy the doctor he worked with so we decided to wait and left without doing the membership. I happened to throw my neck and shoulder out this last week and needed to be seen by someone but my normal chiropractor is not open on weekends. I thought I would give the joint a try. That was a mistake. I had never been adjusted at the joint before but they had me in their system due to my husbands first visit. They took a while trying to figure out if they could give me the $29 new client price. The doctor saw that there were no notes in their system of me being adjusted and let me know that I would get the $29 price. I went back and my adjustment was very aggressive and messy. I had my neck adjusted face down and nothing felt precise or right. Dr.V kept telling me to relax, I was but my face was just getting drug across the head rest so my face would stop my head from turning. She had trouble getting much to move and it was done. I got to the front to check out and the receptionist can't figure out how to give me the $29 price. The doctor comes over to help and can't figure it out so the receptionist is told to call the trainer at a different location. The trainer went to lunch so I was told that she didn't know what else to do for me and that I could just pay the $45. I was assured several times I would be paying $29 but they couldn't work their system and I had already been in there for almost an hour at this point due to them not knowing what to do so I paid the $45 and left. Within a minute of leaving I feel my hand go tingly and I'm in worse pain then when I got there. So I over paid and feel worse than when I started. Just avoid this location. It's a mess. read more

My neck was in so much pain, and it was a Sunday. I was able to find this location that was thankfully open. I came in scanned my card, and it was a bit busy, probably because it's one of about three that are open on Sundays, but I was just thankful I was going to get my neck adjusted. I waited roughly ten to fifteen minutes, nothing crazy, and then was adjusted. My neck pain felt so much better after getting adjusted, I do not know what I did, but I am happy for places like this when I need a quick pain release. read more

The staff is very friendly, location is always clean and inviting and the experience is enjoyable. Dr. Mauvais is amazing. He isn't just a quick, get in you, crack you and get you out Dr. Which is pretty amazing considering how busy this location can be. He is very specific with his approach when needed, he actually listens to your trouble areas, offers guidance and a solid adjustment to correct those ailments. The whole staff is super friendly, greet you by name and make sure you feel welcomed at every visit. Never once have I been pressured into more visits than I needed or could afford at that given time and I feel that is a common downfall to many chiropractic offices these days. I have never been to a chiropractor before. I went in for lower back pain oddly enough I walked out with severe shoulder blade pain. I went back thinking I was overreacting and had a second adjustment. No significant relief on my lower back but I began having increased pain in my shoulder blade since my first adjustment. I went to a different chiropractor which my doctor recommended and he said I had a severely inflamed rib. Now I did not have ANY issues with this area before going into the joint now it's been almost two weeks and we are still trying to relieve the pain caused by this establishment. I decided to check out The Joint when quoted astronomical prices from another chiropractor, wanting relief but not wanting to pay an arm and a leg for that care. The flexible pricing at The Joint was very inviting at $29 for a consultation and exam that included an adjustment. With the $10 Yelp discount, I paid $19. I filled out the usual paperwork and discussed my symptoms with the chiropractor, unfortunately, I did not catch her name. I told her I arrived at the joint after being quoted a crazy price point for care elsewhere. She was thorough and explained their process, which I'd like to liken to a GYM membership. 4 Monthly adjustments for a $79 membership with a minimum 2 month contract. That's less than $20 per adjustment! Most individual chiros will charge about $40 a visit and up. You do have an option to come in for individual visits of $39, but I highly recommend the monthly package if you're needing regular care after an accident or chronic pain. I also got 3 free adjustments by signing up and with everything, I paid $98, which was for 8 adjustments for my initial month! My adjustment was quick but thorough and I felt immediate relief. You can visit any location just by scanning in your card- just like at a GYM and you're in and out. My chiropractor at the Gold River location expressed their affordability and they genuinely seem to care about their patients. I highly recommend checking them out for affordable chiropractic care! I'll be hitting up the Citrus Heights location next time as it's closer, but I did go to Gold River today as CH is closed on Sundays. read more

Beware when canceling your membership. Wife and I had a membership which they do a pretty good job at selling you and tell you how other chiropractors like the one across from them charge a lot more for the same service (I heard them tell multiple customers the line about the chiropractor across from them). When we weren't using it we decided to cancel. I came in to cancel and signed paper work. Told the lady that yeah "WE" weren't really using it and I thought that was it. 3 months later I am still being charged $79 every month and when I called they asked for proof that my credit card was still being billed. Went to my bank paid $18 to get three months of bank statements to show them "proof" that they were still taking money out of my account. So when I came to cancel they only canceled mine and was still being charged for my wife. They had me sign another piece of paper to cancel my wife account and said they couldn't refund the 2-3 months of charges because they only cancelled my account. This place is really nice when they take your money but beware when cancelling!!!! I think I should of went to those people across the street they always speak negative about. I am sure six 2 minute sessions wouldn't of costed me around $500. read more

I have reoccuring upper back and shoulder pain that strikes randomly twice a week and normally puts me out of commission. I had a very poor experience with Dr. Ulaner. I have a mole on my back that I've had all my life and he pointed it out saying that it's cancer and that I should have it checked out to avoid chemo therapy and potential death in the future! I left in tears after hearing such a horrible comment from someone who knows nothing about moles and whether or not they're harmful. I was so scared that I called my primary doctor and sent her a photo to get piece of mind. I understand he may have been looking out for me but to tell a young female it's cancer and you basically might die from it is very harsh! I will never return to him again. When I first signed up the Joint offices were staffed with two doctors at all times and they delivered a convenient and affordable service with minimal wait times. I noticed about 6 months ago things started to change and the wait times got longer with only one doctor at each location and the quality of my adjustments were not what they used to be . I was shopping different chiropractors online and spoke initially to Allison Deyo. She was amazing on the phone. She answered all of my questions smoothly and professionally. She seemed (and) was genuinely interested in my back pain! Based entirely on this phone experience I came in and became a patient. Found this place after trying out another chiropracter in groupon that gave me a 6 month treatment plan quote for $5000. I was a little bit skeptical of The Joint because the price seemed to good to be real. I was pleasantly suprised, you can set it up to pay monthly automatically and you get 4 visits for $69. The best part is no appointments, you just drop in. I've never waited more than 5 minutes and all three doctors are good. I've definitely felt a difference in the past two weeks that I've been going. There's a reason this place has five stars- from start to finish, every step of the way is a five star experience. I absolutely can't think of a way to emphasise this more. First of all, by day two they already knew me by name! The receptionists are both absolutely wonderful ladies. Instead of the clinical check in/out appointment robots you meet at other places, you can tell that when you're greeted and asked how you are, it's not because they HAVE to or they're being polite. Real people, genuinely asking how you're doing today because they want to know. After going to doctor after doctor and being roundly ignored by dozens of receptionists, I feel like I'm stopping in to say hi to friends or even... well... family! Yeah, it's corny, I know, but saying hi and talking for a minute or two is definitely part of why I love coming here. Onto the meat of it- Dr. Mauvais caught something my PCP didn't. Whereas I had TWO doctors dismiss my pain as muscular issues, he correctly diagnosed a potential disc injury and pushed for an MRI, and wouldn't you know it, he was right. I can't thank him enough, and a Yelp review certainly isn't going to cut it, but it's the best I have. Without him, I wouldn't be on the road to recovery. In fact, I'd probably be in bed, missing more work, wondering if I'd ever be out of pain. While I've got a ways before I feel better, Dr. Mauvais has been the crux of my support since day one, and is the biggest reason I'm going to recover. Not to mention he's just an all around amazing guy with an amazing sense of humour. He explains everything about how your back works without ever being condescending, and listens to your concerns. He doesn't just nod and dismiss you, he explains why you're right/wrong, and has actual discussions about whatever you want/need to know. Look- the price is right, it's an entire establishment of people who actually want you to feel better, and everyone who works here is sharp as a tack. I've been going to The Joint for the past few months and it's been great. I have dabbled in trying chiropractic services before, but it was something that I couldn't sustain due to costs. I stumbled into The Joint on a friends recommendation and it was completely worth it. The costs for the services were reasonable (much cheaper than I had expected) and I always felt genuinely welcomed and well treated by the staff. I have been working in IT for the past few years, and sitting at a desk day in day out has started to take a toll on my neck, wrists, and lower back. The weekly adjustments have been working wonders. I felt relief immediately, but I wasn't sure if anything was changing in the long term. I ended up missing a couple of weeks due to some prior commitments and man, I felt the difference. I started feeling all, crunchy and weird. Just kinda.. off. Not good man. Needless to say, I started going back and I'm feeling right as rain. My wrist pain also seems to have completely subsided. I've been to a few chiropractors before and have had normal experiences. To start I was surprised that there's a waiting area facing the patient's area when they're working with the doctor. For me, I felt it was a lack of patient privacy and very discomforting. Nobody told me that I was going to turn the corner to that type of room for patients. When I finished my walk in appointment the seats were filled with people watching and I was so uncomfortable. I couldn't help but feel like I was being called a liar in regards to my past pain experience when I needed to go to the chiropractor in the first place. I mixed up my dates on the paperwork because it had been a few months since I last had a large issue with my muscles. When the initial conversation began he pointed that discrepancy out and I explained I mixed up the time frames. The conversation went on and he remarked to a comment of mine "at least you're being honest about that ha ha". I found him to be very rude and suspicious. Lastly, when I went to check out they offered me a month to month deal with 5 free sessions, however I couldn't cancel the membership until 2 months later. So I hesitated. The clerk spent a great amount of time trying to convince me to sign up. They even went as far to have a possibility of me signing paperwork before I left and call them back with my final decision. It was at least 15 minutes of attempting to convince me to sign up. I ended up walking out with a possibility of joining. My final decision was to not go back due to the fact that overall I felt unsettled and pressured to join. read more

This place is amazing. The doctors are wonderful, and so are the receptionists (especially Destiny!). It's affordable, too; the first appointment is only $20, maybe ten minutes, and it was so worth it. They also have a monthly plan, which pay for themselves if you do any kind of physical work. They're very flexible and accommodating; they put your needs before anything else. They remember me, my name and my life and everything. They're wonderful, and I always feel welcome and comfortable. I have Crohn's disease-- lots of stomach pain, lots of back pain, each one complicating the other. I'm also a full-time waitress, so that does nothing good for my back. I have a Norco prescription, but I don't want to be dependent on drugs to function on a daily basis. The first time I went in, I was nervous... but I left with my back feeling a thousand times better than it had for months, maybe years. Now I go in whenever I have the time, and an adjustment (ten minutes, tops) can clear up problems I've let sit for weeks. It makes me do better at work, which increases my performance and my paycheck-- literally paying for my membership. I love this place, and I appreciate the people there.
